From a fellow Matt, thanks for the positive reinforcement mate! I spent the front nine last Friday being Noddaplaya instead of Waddaplaya. We all fall down sometimes I guess haha My son and I have adopted The Way and I have to say it has drastically improved our games. Better attitude, smarter shots, lower scores. Came around on the back nine but it was a hard slog!!! A couple of amber fluids didn't hurt either.

Yesterday I broke 90 for the first time in ages ... with an 83 no less. What's bizarre about the round is that I had a quad and two doubles, meaning I shot +3 for 15 of the 18 holes. What happened on the those horrible three holes? Lack of commitment. Why were those other 15 holes (which included 3 birdies) so successful? A clear mind and a committed swing. Thank you Matt for providing a solid and calm philosophy to the game. It is indeed a hobby worth enjoying. 24 hours later and I'm still smiling at my round, rather than obsessing over the three bad holes. Keep up the great work playa!
Amazing! Playa, i gotta tell you, yesterday I got fitted for a new driver, 3-wood and 5-wood, and oh boy what a difference 10 years in technological advancements make. I'm so eager to attack the course, these videos help with the urge 🤗
@@aaronh.917 Taylor Made arranged a demo day on one of my local country clubs. They had a few slots for scheduled fitting and I made a reservation via the caddie master of said gountry club. On the demo day the whole driving range was full of people hitting the TM demo clubs. I first hit a bucket of balls with my own clubs for warm up and at 17:30 the fitting started. The fitting was done with a Taylor Made employee equipped with a TrackMan. First we fitted the driver, and for reference i hit 5 balls with my old driver. After that we tested different heads and shafts until we were happy with the numbers and I was happy with the feel of the club. With me we got a 106mph club head speed with an average smash factor of 1.48 and average spin of 2500rpm. I play with a scoring average of 80 shots with a handicap of 6.2, for reference. Then the same process was repeated with the 3wood and 5wood. For 5wood I had no reference but my goal was to get a high launch club with a 200m-ish carry and 3500ish spin and thats what we got out of it. Anyway, I was looking for a tighter dispersion, a better awareness of the club head and an easier time to get hight and spin with the fairway woods. I was completely blown away by the clubs, they really do launch so easily from the deck and the twist face technology makes my mishits better than my sweet strikes with the old clubs. I cannot recommend to get fitted enough, and this kind of a demo day with a lively environment was very stress free and enjoyable. Hope this helps, cheers!
@@aaronh.917 just do it. The fitting itself is basically free and the whole experience is eye-opening and most enjoyable. The fit made me realize that it's very likely my irons are ill-fitting as well. Something to look forward for next season!
@@Buurmanni just booked my fitting for Sunday. I shoot in the low 90s and have a best score of 88, and the person booking my fitting tried to advise me against doing the fitting based on my scores. He said the club data would be too inconsistent for me to get any value from it. I ignored him and booked the fitting anyway. He said the fitting process is more for people shooting in the 60s and 70s. LOL! Can you believe that? I’m playing off the shelf Cleveland CG2 irons that have never been fit to me. Same thing with used Cleveland launcher woods (never fit to me). And I leave a lot of shots on the table with the short game (chipping and putting could use big improvements). I also don’t take mulligans or do-overs on the course. I wonder if they hear people say that they shoot in the low 90s but those are the same people who take 2+ mulligans a round, fluffing up every lie, and taking gimme puts outside of 3 feet… and ending up with a 94.
Which course do you prefer, Black Mountain or Banyan? Do these compare to other high level courses you have played? I have played around Thailand as well. Hope to be back one day…

Bada-bing bada-boom is a slang term generally used as either a positive exclamatory or to indicate that things will continue down the course that they are set on ( “you think ‘meh, what could go wrong’ and you take your first smoke, soon that turns into 5 smokes, and bada-bing bada-boom now your addicted” ). I believe that your friend’s exclamation was a use of the former definition, putting emphasis on the “boom” was most likely meant to convey that your drive was a “bomb.” So in a sense, the term was not used primarily for it’s denotative definition, but rather, it was a knee-jerk reaction meant to complement your drive. Edit: I probably should note that I am only speaking from experience. I am in no way an expert on this issue.

Club champs coming up soon so I started to train off the whites (the back tees) and realized how short my driver really is. Just need to play with the cards I'm dealt I guess and start hitting the gym if I want more distance at some point in my life lol
That Inesis distance ball is a gem. I have been playing them for a month now and they are at least as good as any $4 ball. They might be extremely cheap (50 euro cents each), but they go far and you can still play a perfect short game with them. To me and the pro that I play with daily, there really was no downside. Who doesn't want more distance? As a 3 handicapper I don't delude myself into thinking that a Pro v1 or a TP5X is going to give me more 'control' or more 'spin'. Because they don't, because how many times a round do you actually hit the ball perfectly like a pro golfer at their clubhead speeds? To anyone trying to improve their golf and laugh every day: try the Inesis 100 distance ball.
@@GolfSidekick Roflmao how humble of you...I love your attitude on the course friend...too many ppl miss the point of golf...ENJOYMENT...there are no good rounds or bad rounds for amateur golfers...if ur on tour fair enough but I played low-level college golf and in tournaments w no delusions I'd be putting on a green jacket in a couple years but I would play w other guys who seemed miserable when it wasn't going right...every day I get to spend playing golf (unfortunately not often enough as I'm 40 now) is a joy and my focus is firmly on committing to the best strategy for me for each individual shot...love the vids playa!
