Dan underplays how good he is. Love how honest yet humble he is about his game. Some great drives, a solid long game, nailing putts and up and downs easily but never boastful or smug. What a guy.
Excellent again! Dan's the only TH-cam instructor who explains the how and why of each shot. Invaluable for increasing golf IQ for us high handicapper's.
Just amazing! I usually watch Good Good, Grant Horvat, Micah, Bryon Bros, and even Bryson Dechambeau, however this is the absolute best golf-round content I’ve seen on TH-cam all year long. Looking forward to more of these when you can, Dan!!
Love this. Better / easier watch then most if not all TH-cam golf. No cart cam bs . Shot after shot at a great pace with some nice touches of shot explanation and course management tips. How good !
The peoples golf youtuber!! No ego, all about the transparency. Playing off the yellows as thats more enjoyable. So many takeaways! Thank you Daniel Son!
I’ve just started watching, edits to follow, but it’s your course management which is the key. Best instructional videos out in the ether. Most TH-camr golfers take a club for the distance saying stuff like “I hit a wedge 160 yards!” then miss the green and go to a sports psychologist thinking its attitude. You neatly show the use of clubs that would well exceed the distance required but do a Seve and make a shot. Nice one Dan.
Probably the best 18 hole video I’ve ever watched on youtube !! and I’ve watched thousands 😂, it’s great how you go into depth on all your shots, its 100 % going to help a lot of people 😊
These vids have become my favorite on YT. It's a real pleasure to watch Dan play his round, telling us how he goes about it. Thank you, sir. I'm learning much and enjoying these tutorials.
To call "this is my bread and butter" on a bunker shot, that you can barely see out of and put it within a foot. Another great video. Good work Dan. Everyone is loving this new style of content. Next phase of becoming a YT golf sensation, is getting guests on and playing fun games with them.
Yes, I made the same point on one of Dan's videos months ago. I want to see him competing in short game challenges with the best short game players on the tour. He'll probably end up with more of the elite players as his clients.
Once again another great segment on execution and course management. Thank you for taking time after a long day teaching to make these playing videos .
I like the fact you describe your short game shots by calling out what release you're using. Knowing your release methods gives one the advantage in the short game and has really improved my own short game. Thanks
Course management is easily the most overlooked aspect by TH-cam golf presenters, and it may be the most important. Thanks, Dan, for the kernels of knowledge you pass on when you voice your thought process. They are truly invaluable!
What an amazing attitude Dan has. Grinding out every shot, even a mid-range putt for a double bogey where lots of players would be seething. He seems to remain so calm and collected whatever the score.
Love this channel, my golf has been on the decline the last few months, watched his last video and my next golf game was miles better .I slowed down and plotted my way round thinking about the holes ,no blow up holes in 18
Absolutely. My main goal now is to avoid them at all costs and if one happens I take my medicine and move on humbly to the next hole because in the end golf is a hard. Thr game became lot more fun for me being now being genuinly happy when I scramble for bogey.
Great video regardless of what level you are playing. Dan's golf IQ is elite and hearing him take the ego out of his game is something we can all learn from. More of these videos please 🙌
Thank you Dan, I've watched many of your instructional videos and this one was an absolute privilege to watch and learn from. Your wildly in depth understanding of how the variety of lies impacts your shot selection and their potential outcomes makes you a golfing savant, in my opinion... How did you gather that much information and make such a science out of it??? You are awesome.🙏🙏🙏🙏 Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Dan is the man! What a fantastic video - thank you. Great to hear the comments to the shots and especially the alternatives to different pin positions or conditions. So much to learn here. I’m a huge fan. Keep up the great work!
Apart from the fact the Par save on 14 was a thing of beauty , I think it also underlined the concept of the video because it had everything. Course management off the tee and when faced with trouble. Loving this content Dan , keep up the good work 👏 👍
5 FH and 8GIR, yet shoots even par on a world class course. An amazing testament to the importance of the short game, putting, and course management. Great, great video!
I only live a few miles from this course. I played it quite a few times in the 90s and I loved it. It was a lot cheaper back then too. I remember doing the day package there twice; coffee on arrival, 18 on the Duchess, carvery lunch, and then 18 on the Dukes. The cost was £67.50 for the whole day. I think the same deal today is over 5 times that amount. There was a group of us in our local snooker club, one of whom was a member at Woburn and I used to go there with him and a couple of others to play 18 in the late afternoon for £30; dunno what it would be today. The really nice thing about the course is the tranquility of the setting; it was like we were the only people in the world, playing golf amongst the wildlife. Best golfing days ever for me.
Another round of golf in which I was engrossed. The course management comes across more clearly when decisions are made live. Just one thing Dan, I was always told to make a decision and never say afterwards “I should have done this or that.”. The decision was made on the basis of the available information. Great video though, and it’s fascinating to see your top class short game decision making and execution in action. Above all it works because of your calm demeanour and humble personality.
I think you have to reflect on decisions after the round. 2-3 bad decisions can wreck a round. Sometimes really bad decisions, like hitting 3w over water, work out but then cost you dozens of strokes in future rounds...if you pull off a 1/10 shot, it's still a bad decision. Dan called it bad b/c it was...120 for approach would have been great-- especially when he had only hit a few fw's all day. A better statement might be "when you aren't confident about a decision on the course, take the other, more conservative, option". A world class short game contributed to poor decision b/c he is very likely to make birdie if he puts drive in play. If 6i is option 2, driver rarely is a good option 1. 🙂
Beautiful to watch even after 3 times now! Played the other 2 courses there this yr and lucky to be playing The Dukes in a few weeks, so the 3rd watch was brilliant to help me try to plot my way around. Thank you.
Absolutely incredible to watch that Dan, it just shows how golf can be made easy with the mindset and understanding what’s in front of you vs hear down and hit it. Please keep these coming 🙌🏻
That was great fun to watch, Dan. I love the way you deliberatly played some poor iron shots so we could see how to play out of terrible lies 😂 The quality of the filming was fantastic too. Keep them coming please!!
What a smooth operator , he oozes that kind of unhurried and calm manner, a fine example of how golf should be played. I replicated his calmness, indeed the result is really positive. Thanks Dan!
Ten out of eleven up & downs - outrageously good to watch. Really interesting to hear your thinking before each shot, even the yes/no/yes/no do I hack/do I take a drop! Looking forward to the third instalment on The Duchess.
Another fabulous lesson in managing yourself around the course … massive learning from the details irrespective of how well or poor the execution by Sir Daniel Gold!!! Cheers Dan 👍
Brilliant, Dan! I loved following you through the beautiful-and tight-Woburn Duke's course! A great round and I learned a lot, particularly about using the short game and course management in general. Many thanks, your videos are just wonderful!
Thanks Dan for another excellent video. It has reinforced the fact that my short game is the reason why I can't get my handicap down, it is a mess! I am a total fan of how you, and on Iona Stephen's videos, the explanations of each shot and club choice reasons.
Well done Dan!!! Having played the course, you managed your way round and explained each shot, and I understand why you should manage your expectations to your handicap. Short game Is key to keep your round on track. Really enjoyed it thanks.
Getting your insight for all situations is so helpful Dan. I feel like I lose as many shots from good positions as I do from bad positions. Goes to show how solid decision making can have a huge impact on the score. Awesome video 👍
Wonderful showcase for how to get out of your own head and onto the course whilst playing the round, concentrating on the shot intent and strategy rather than getting lost in a sea of swing thoughts from tee to green as many of us do.
Ah the old Dukes in Aspley Heath woods. One of my favourite places. Used to caddy there as a youngster back in the 80s. Good to see it get some attention, as since the Marquess was built, it seems to have lost some of the limelight. Doesn’t seem to have changed much, which is nice. When the British Masters was played there in the 80s, they started on the second to finish on the par 5 first, rather than the short par 4 18th. Thanks for the content Dan; some of the most helpful on TH-cam.
Wish this video was out when I started playing golf, took me years to work out how crucial game management is,and still learned so much from this video, love the way he talks us through every shot and thought process 👏
Great video, please do more. I would like to emulate your calm, tenacious and intelligent approach. There are many nougats of wisdom that I intend to take to the course next time I play.
Absolute genius, love it! Watched with a smile throughout the whole video 😊. I've really gained lots of knowledge on course management from this, hope I can lower my score as well. Thanks DG!
Really enjoyed this Dan. Great to watch !! Please do more of these on course .. I'd love to hear you explain what might happen and why due to the lie of each shot including what your options are and what you wouldn't do.... (You already did this but more details and more often would be absolutely awesome) Thank you!!!! 🙏
I love the full rounds of golf Dan! Also love the little key points of interest around the course with your history lesson. Growing up watching Karrie Webb in Australia it’s nice to see her insanely good game getting some recognition from you on the 17th when she won the open.
@DanGrieveGolf, what a great video! Love how you explain every shot and your club selection. Your up and downs are remarkable! If you ever come to USA, would be awesome to have a face to face lesson with you. Cheers
Awesome video! I love how you explained every shot. Especially liked when you decided to take the penalty stroke for the drop instead of trying the shot underneath the ferns!
Thanks Dan, another thoroughly enjoyable video!! Great insight into course management, the value of having a strong short game and some more Woburn history.
This was a great video The insight and shot selection process was great to hear Nothing fancy either just got on with it Looking forward to more Cheers Dan
Fantastic video, just like the last one! Someone else mentioned having guests on, but I think this format is just perfect. Rather have you focused on talking about your course management than chatting with guests. If there's anything that could be improved it would be to shoot and upload the videos at 4K for better image quality. Other than that, just keep doing what you do!
My short game was always decent for my handicap but came on leaps and bounds for watching Dan, really has made me think more around the green, shot selection and club selection much better aligned now. If only I had a game off the tee!
Hi Dan. Excellent content, ❤ the 1 2 1 with camera 🎥. Course is superb, grew up near by but moved to Norfolk 20years ago. Always dream of playing Woburn again someday. Watching your videos fill that spot thanks 🙏
Another great video there Dan, thank you. To hear your thought process and choice of club/shot is great for me as a newbie to golf, all too often it's too tempting to go for the hero shot that rarely come off. Always great content, I just hope I remember it on the course. I have however started to think 'what would Dan do?' when I'm green side. Thanks again mate
Dan underplays how good he is. Love how honest yet humble he is about his game. Some great drives, a solid long game, nailing putts and up and downs easily but never boastful or smug. What a guy.
He has a world class attitude to the game too.
Sees the game as a challenge and doesn't lose his temper on bad breaks or misses.
Dan, the sandbagger! 🤭
Excellent again! Dan's the only TH-cam instructor who explains the how and why of each shot. Invaluable for increasing golf IQ for us high handicapper's.
Yep, lovely player, grinds it out with a great attitude
Just amazing! I usually watch Good Good, Grant Horvat, Micah, Bryon Bros, and even Bryson Dechambeau, however this is the absolute best golf-round content I’ve seen on TH-cam all year long. Looking forward to more of these when you can, Dan!!
Love this. Better / easier watch then most if not all TH-cam golf. No cart cam bs . Shot after shot at a great pace with some nice touches of shot explanation and course management tips. How good !
Yeah I always skip those cart cams
Dan is a role model for me on how to play. Best insights on precisely how to increase your own golf IQ.
The peoples golf youtuber!! No ego, all about the transparency. Playing off the yellows as thats more enjoyable. So many takeaways! Thank you Daniel Son!

Another brilliant video, really enjoying these full rounds (as well as your normal content)
So much good info in these videos! I love the energy, explaining every shot. Still the best part is the chipping for me, such a masterclass!
I worked at Woburn Golf and country club in 1995-1996, I loved playing the Dukes it was beautiful!. Love the channel Dan!!.
A round full of drama, a short game masterclass and fearless putting!
Love these long-form course management videos! Please keep them coming. Like the addition of the drone shots too! Nice round.
Dan, lov your short game vids but these on course videos are nothing short of brilliant 👍👊
Couldn't agree more
Great video regardless of what level you are playing. Dan's golf IQ is elite and hearing him take the ego out of his game is something we can all learn from. More of these videos please 🙌
That shot on 14 out the tree gap was awesome to watch. You’re a master Dan! Showing how achievable it is to play under par.
Another excellent video. Tracers, multiple angles, drones, master class in course management. Amazing.
Thanks.
Thank you Dan,
I've watched many of your instructional videos and this one was an absolute privilege to watch and learn from. Love how Dan compresses the game. Every intricate detail. What a player
Dan is the man!
What a fantastic video - thank you.
Great to hear the comments to the shots and especially the alternatives to different pin positions or conditions. So much to learn here. I’m a huge fan. Keep up the great work!
Very enjoyable round Dan. Well done and please keep doing these. Very educational as far as course management is concerned.

Man, these are GOLD!! Lessons and tips are great, but seeing everything in action is SO helpful. Thanks!
Masterclass, pure masterclass, more, more, more. Dan these uploads are invaluable to anyone wanting to lower their scores. 🤘🤘
Fantastic. Such a great video. Dan makes shooting par look easy.

Great memories of a special place 👍
Excellent course management video. Thank you Dan, brought back memories when watching the European Seniors played the Dukes course.
Any golf course that has resident pheasants is a thing of beauty. I enjoy your playing vlogs. Hope you make more in the future.

Absolutely incredible to watch that Dan, it just shows how golf can be made easy with the mindset and understanding what’s in front of you vs hear down and hit it. Please keep these coming 🙌🏻
your thought process during that fern shot where you decided to drop was learning moment for me, great content
A1 Dan. Great commentary. Must more substance than other TH-camrs. Really enjoy your vids.
I love your full 18 hole videos! So much better than any other TH-cam channel!!
Great video. Love Dan's tempo. He illustrates why we love this game.
That was great fun to watch, Dan. I love the way you deliberatly played some poor iron shots so we could see how to play out of terrible lies 😂 The quality of the filming was fantastic too. Keep them coming please!!

Love these type of videos! Helps my golf ⛳️ IQ go up ⬆️ 😁. Thanks from the Pacific Northwest 🌊🏔️🌦️ in the States 🇺🇸.
Getting your insight for all situations is so helpful Dan. I feel like I lose as many shots from good positions as I do from bad positions. Goes to show how solid decision making can have a huge impact on the score. Awesome video 👍
Great stuff Dan really good to watch and what shot you intend to play course management 👍
thanks Dan this has been a great lesson in course management plus showing the skills of having a good short game to help you get up and down
Wonderful showcase for how to get out of your own head and onto the course whilst playing the round, concentrating on the shot intent and strategy rather than getting lost in a sea of swing thoughts from tee to green as many of us do.

Great video Dan. As a regular golfer at Woburn it was great to see how you managed your way round so successfully. I learnt a lot 😊
Thanks for helping me with golfing IQ, it's been a goal of mine and your content is helping me play smarter.
Great video, please do more. I would like to emulate your calm, tenacious and intelligent approach. There are many nougats of wisdom that I intend to take to the course next time I play.
More videos like this Dan! Best course management video I’ve ever seen
The best golf round videos I’ve ever seen on you tube, the other channels should watch this
I don't think I've seen anything better on youtube. Excellent.
By far the best golf TH-cam channel. Could watch Dan's videos all day
Thanks
Absolute genius, love it! Watched with a smile throughout the whole video 😊. I've really gained lots of knowledge on course management from this, hope I can lower my score as well.
Thanks DG!
Cracking video Dan. The pin position on the 7th was rotten! Need a putting tutorial / how to guide soon ;) 😂
Really enjoyed this Dan. Great to watch !! Please do more of these on course ..
I'd love to hear you explain what might happen and why due to the lie of each shot including what your options are and what you wouldn't do.... (You already did this but more details and more often would be absolutely awesome)
Thank you!!!! 🙏
Dan the man what a lovely genuine man. Love his attitude
Really enjoyed the mentality side of this round what ever tee you play off it makes the process easier to see and mentally prepare for each shot
The discipline of a professional golfer is what sets them apart! Well done to take that drop!🎉❤.
I love the full rounds of golf Dan! Also love the little key points of interest around the course with your history lesson. Growing up watching Karrie Webb in Australia it’s nice to see her insanely good game getting some recognition from you on the 17th when she won the open.
I love the history of the game and there is so much at Woburn
My fave vids to watch each day after work. I cant get enough
@DanGrieveGolf, what a great video! Love how you explain every shot and your club selection. Your up and downs are remarkable!
If you ever come to USA, would be awesome to have a face to face lesson with you. Cheers
Gotta say I took a lot from this video, loved to see you explain every shot and give us a bit of insight on course management, cheers from Mexico
Great video Dan just love the way you think your way around the course you’re like the Ronnie O’Sullivan of Golf😂 equally very enjoyable to watch.
Love these ‘whole course’ videos - keep up the great work Dan!
The best short game instructor and can play also.way tho go Dan👍
An absolute master class Dan !! such a great watch !
This was a great video

Looking forward to more
Cheers Dan
Great video again Dan, really enjoyed every minute of that. Well played
Good to see you out there playing golf. Great series with playing insights
Fantastic video, just like the last one! Someone else mentioned having guests on, but I think this format is just perfect. Dan’s mental game is awesome. Never panicked, took his time and committed. I would give anything to have his short game.
Hi Dan. Excellent content, ❤ the 1 2 1 with camera 🎥. Course is superb, grew up near by but moved to Norfolk 20years ago. Always dream of playing Woburn again someday. Watching your videos fill that spot thanks 🙏
I still love that you risked the driver on the last! But your course management tips are gratefully accepted
Great video Dan, so much help letting your way around the course. Thank you ⛳️🏌🏻♂️👍
Real golf, managing your game and accepting your weakness's is the most important thing to scoring your best scores. Dan just showed that brilliantly.
This is the level of golf I aspire to. Not pro but a fun mind game with good scores. Love the content!
Hi Dan really enjoying this style of content. It's great to learn about course management. Thank you so much .
Love this series of videos, so helpful! Keep them coming please Dan.
Thanks
Education Education Education, i watch Dan and he makes me look at the game in a easy to understand way . Thanks Dan..
Loving these 18 hole videos, great insights into course management and expectations.
Honest, informative, encouraging.... Excellent!!!
Keep these kind of videos coming!
