I’ve been subscribed to this channel for over a year now, and it’s amazing how much time and effort he puts into it and how the channel gets better and better. The editing and graphics keep improving, the voice over is fun, interesting, and helpful, and this is by far the best golf channel on youtube. Keep up the great work!
Hey Matt, I enjoyed watching this round. Your golf looks very similar to my own. The most important part of this round is when you checked in on 9 to remind yourself that you had two great caddies, perfect weather, a great course, and a great life. That kind of reminder always straightens my tee shots out for a hole or two. Awesome post man
@@pootietangggg you can’t walk down a street without finding plenty of open needles. Which I guess is ok for adults but I wouldn’t want children walking down those streets
Enjoyed the video. My biggest challenge this year? Accepting that I am much older than I used to be and don't hit the ball quite as far as I used to. That means that my club selection HAS to change, and get over my inflated ego of trying to keep up with the younger guys (half my age). Just can't be embarrassed by hitting 2 or even 3 clubs longer than my playing partners. Just get there and get the ball in the hole.
Matty my brotha iv been watching for maybe a couple years now and dude your videos helped my game immensely! I went from shooting 100-110 to 90 and now i can shoot 80s consistently with the occasional 90-100 lol we all have those days. I shot a 6 over yesterday and i was stoked! My best game yet! My goal is to get better at my mental putt game i always miss one put and it knocks my entire game off. I missed 2 birdie opportunities and i put myself in a ugly rut yesterday
I thought I was obsess with golf, until I broke 80 for the first time a few years ago. It really launched a real passion for the game and the swing. Your videos really encompass the struggle and the joy of playing the game. Thank you Baus Matt!
My main challenge is what you just described: backing off when I am not totally comfortable and committed to a shot...and not allowing my primary playing partner, who likes to play fast, influence me to not back off.
My biggest challenge is mental consistency. Whether I’m helping out my dad or a friend, worrying about the way people think of me or focusing too much on random irrelevant factors, this makes my ball striking so inconsistent. Also, at the range I tend to just start swinging away. Especially when things go wrong. I really have to take more time and use the same routine as on the course.
I have been told to swing at 80 percent. Last year I averaged mid 90's and now I am shooting mid 80's and know I can do better. I am focusing on hitting at 80 percent and am getting incredible ball contact.
a big challenge i face is committing to the correct club in certain situations. eliminating my frequent three puts is a big goal i have. love the content. been watching for a couple months now. keep up the great work :)
My biggest obstacle on the course is a playing partner who thinks he knows my game better than I do, he thinks he knows my clubs better than me. He is a great guy, but he doesnt understand that Im using your methods to enjoy my game and improve. And trust me I have imporved this past year. Im down to an 8 handicap at my course from an 18. All thanks to your method. I still play my game while explaining why I make the choices I do. Thanks Matt, golf is fun again.
With the world hcp change, i am now off 9.1. I have put a lot of effort in mastering my ego when making shot choices and I am very proud to be single Handicapper now. The next mental challenge for 2021 is stick to the process even if I don't get the results.. Trust my Strategy/tactics, and improve the execution. - You're an inspiration, man!
My biggest challenge this year is not blading and chunking my way to the green. I'm starting lessons in a few weeks because I clearly have no idea what I'm doing!
MY MAIN CHALLENGE is moving on from the horrible lack of confidence i gave myself with my Driver during the period of time 1 year ago when I was slicing it out the wazoo. I lack the courage to make full committed swings with the Driver because I think back to the massive slices into the woods & I need to move on from that. Love your vids, I've learned so much about the mental and fundamental part of scoring on the golf course and not just range grinding - your knowledge, lack of ego, and stress-free game are inspirational !
My main challenge this year will be taking my new swing and course management mindset into my first year of league play!! I've never done anything like this before and am both scared to death and ready to kick ass. I have Matt and this channel to thank for both the common sense and confidence I need to engage BAUS mode every week.
My biggest challenge this year is going to be keeping my enjoyment of the game happening. Since I joined a club at the end of last year my game has deteriorated and my handicap is now 6 shots worse at 32. Not where I wanted to be at this time of the year but with a bit of focus I know I can get back those shots and aim for 20-22 at the end of the year. Got to re-watch the Break 100 series before I get back on the course.
Really enjoy your videos and I have definitely become a better player by changing the way I play. I now go for the shots I know I can do, take my medicine when I have to, and improved my sort game and putting. This has made me cut at least 10 shots around and now I break 90 all the time my next challenge is to break 80. Nearly there. Thank you
Biggest challenge for me is: proper focus in the presence of hazards, so hitting over water, driving with OB forest to the right, etc bring this about. Yesterday i had nothing but clean strikes all day then a tee with water in front i top two in a row into the water X-D
my biggest challenge this year is definitely trying to leave the bad holes behind me. it’s alway such a struggle to not think about that triple bogey just a minute ago when you were on your way to getting a new best score. whattachallenge
My challenge this season? Change the mindset towards scratch golf. All in the mind now in the last few strokes to come off the index. I’ve been tracking stats using strokes gained - I highly recommend it as it gives more accurate analysis of where I need to improve. It’s not for everyone, but the better you get the more detail is needed in my opinion. Keep on playing, playa!
My biggest mental challenge lately has been playing with strangers who start asking about my boring job and family life. I can talk about golf all 18 holes but I don't have much to say when it comes to work and family since I'm single and my job is boring.
Rachakram is a good course ... play there often tho from the whites ... didn't even recognize it from the blues until the 3rd hole ..was thinking, "are there 2 Rachakrams?" 555
I look forward to watching your videos. They are always entertaining and make me laugh because i am very similar to you. keep up the great content.Thank you!
biggest challenge is feeling comfortable with my shot shape - been working a lot on moving the ball both ways and now I'm indecisive on if I want to hit a fade or a draw. 74 and 76 to start the year in 2021 now a lot of low 80's......................
Im from Detroit loved that comment on the 2 Iron haha. My biggest challenge in Golf is to not think in my back swing "oh no this doesn't feel right at all"
2021 goal: Find and establish the type, tempo, and style of my swing and stick with it. I always find myself trying to tweak little things even if my golf game is improving or better than it has been in the past.
My biggest challenge has to be looking at the bigger picture of the greens. I tend to only look at the noticeable slopes on the green rather than if the green is moving up or down the hills most of my courses lie on. Because of this i interpret what would be an uphill putt as flat and leave it short. Cue the tuba
From 120, just top another 3 wood. That’s what you just hit with it. 😉👍 I know what you mean about ugly sub 80 rounds, I had 4 birdies in 7 holes and finished the first 9 -2 and the second 9 in +8 for a 78. Mental focus is key, I lost it on the last 9 holes.
First round back yesterday playa. 92, 42 on the front, 50 on the back. Not ashamed to say I was stiff as an old dog after 10, body certainly unaccustomised (if that's a word!) itself in 6+ months. 3 putted quite a few times, but proper chuffed with myself given the complete lack of practice/play time and haven't had that much fun with the boyfriends in a year. 👍⛳🏌️♂️
BTW walking on someone's line was only a problem when we wore metal spikes and could make spike marks on the green without thinking. Its hardly an issue now, especially with moulded sole shoes.....
Biggest mental challenge for me is to be more accepting of my misses. Tiger says that he usually only hits 1 perfect shot a round, 2 shots and that's when he's running away with the tournament. It's so easy to let even small misses off the tee or on approaches to feel like monstrous errors. It's a game of misses after all! Curious about the poker chips Matt, was that your idea? Guess most golfers have similar interests hahahaha!
My biggest mental deficiency in golf is we have one hole at my home course that is a round killer for everyone. 375 par 4 with an elevated green that is so sloped down if you are below the hole the ball will roll back down if you don’t make it or will roll all the way down the hill if you are past the hole. Water right OB left and fairway bunker. I’ve tried hitting many different clubs off tee and I think about the hole before I even tee off.
My biggest mental challenge is simply holding it together for 18 complete holes. I always know going into a round that there will be plenty of bogeys and bad shots, but there are just as many opportunities out there on the course for a good shot to set up birdies. The positives will come just as much as the negatives, but most of the time it requires strong mental focus.
My biggest challenge in golf is hitting when someone random on the course is directly watching you hit the ball. Something about having someone who could potentially judge and critique your swing and ballstriking leads me to topping the ball 70% of the time. It's a mental block that can ruin me on a par 5 or par 3
You sound like my father-in-law. Strikes the ball quite well when there’s no-one around; scheisses his Hosen as soon as there’s anyone watching. I try to reassure him that no-one cares, you’re never going to see them again, just block them out etc, but doesn’t seem to help! Let me know if you figure it out so I can pass it on.
Im bummed you didnt show us Steves putt on 7 after yours. I wanted to see if he did a little learning after seeing your line in the dew of the grass..... WaddaPlaya!!!
My golf goal in 2021 is to stop slicing and hooking my shots. I'm still trying to perfect my swing and I hope by doing so, I can start playing bogey golf. Too many doubles/triples the last few times out.
My biggest challenge is to keep my swing steady, too often I overswing and it almost always results in topping the ball for 40-50 yards. Usually on long par 5s when I get in my head
What the heck? He’s not invading anyone’s space, he’s playing “ready golf” and keeping things moving. Once the ball is in the air there’s nothing you can do to it. He’s simply getting set up for his shot. Besides, he’s letting Matt watch the shot and staying back enough not to get hit. It only looks bad on camera, but he’s BEHIND Matt and being respectful. As Matt said, he doesn’t even notice. All I see is great “ready golf”. I wish more people at my course would do it.
I'm trying to break 80 right now and I can't get there because of my driver. I don't hit it far enough to ever justify using it. I also need to work on chipping for those up and downs
Found your channel recently and absolutely love it! Very witty and on point, just like a Saffa can! What app do you use to do your ball tracking and tracing?

“Detroit” is the best low key joke this year.
“Safe, secure, conservative”

I'm low-key embarrassed other countries know about that

I've never had a bad time in Detroit.

So true about the putting thing. It's best to be assertive and just say "I'm going" or "you're up".

I have to stop playing “golf swing” and start playing golf while on the course.
Great job with the latest vids.
My 2021 Goal is to continue giving swing mechanic tips in the comment section due to them being implemented 100% of the time.

I wish I had a fraction of the confidence to hit the fairways with the big stick as you do. It gets me into so much trouble.
Good to see that your game also changes, your putting is usually on point, yet here today, it looks like mine ;-)
My biggest challenges are adjusting to a new grip after lessons from my pro and staying focused through the round by committing to every shot.
What's with the horse kicks on hole 17 Par 3 🤣 Glad to see you break 80. Great vid as usual Matt 😇
From 120, just top another 3 wood. That’s what you just hit with it. 😉👍

This is the video I been waiting for! #letthebigdogeat
Main Challenge: hearing that Playa song in my head all the time.
My biggest challenge is consistency with pitching and putting. Had bogey, bogey, par, par, then five straight double bogeys yesterday.
The line his ball made on the first bird was dope.
Biggest challenge this year....getting on the course I reckon. Super busy since lockdown ended.
If you come to the UK I would be happy to take you around Woodhall Spa Hotchkins course, top 25 course in the world 👍
:48 mark.. what a masterpiece, Matt. Come to MN to play boyfriend.
I always doubt my first angle when putting, when I should be going with my first look.

I always know going into a round that there will be plenty of bogeys and bad shots, but there are just as many opportunities out there on the course for a good shot to set up birdies. The positives will come just as much as the negatives, but most of the time it requires strong mental focus.
My biggest challenge is not going for the "hero" shot. I should take the smart option but its always so tempting.
My biggest challenge in golf is hitting when someone random on the course is directly watching you hit the ball. Something about having someone who could potentially judge and critique your swing and ballstriking leads me to topping the ball 70% of the time. My biggest mental challenge is focusing on playing while a beautiful caddy is helping me out on the course!
Mine is to order that shirt!!!
My golf goal in 2021 is to stop slicing and hooking my shots. I'm still trying to perfect my swing and I hope by doing so, I can start playing bogey golf. Too many doubles/triples the last few times out.

whatta good video
My biggest challenge is to keep my swing steady, too often I overswing and it almost always results in topping the ball for 40-50 yards. Usually on long par 5s when I get in my head
Main challenge is waiting for the course to open... in Vermont now, not AZ. Getting stiff... and not in a good way.
My biggest mental challenge for 2021 is to hit more ‘strategic’ approaches. Too often I just laser the pin and try to hit it stiff.
