I LOVE this tutorial. The possibilities are endless. Thank You Sherri and Kimberly for this super cute and easy placemat pattern. I can make placemats to suit my décor and any holiday! I have been needing this!
Love the simplicity of this pattern. It is perfect for all the lovely scraps that gather, along with the leftover charm squares. Also a special thanks for showing a close-up on how to make the center seam in the four-patch block lie flat. I always struggled with this. Great Video!
Iam so excited with my sew sampler for July 2016. Fatquartershop is the best of any of the boxes that are sampler boxes. I also made this placemats. They are just so adorable. I would post a picture of them but I don't know. When I find out I will. Kimberly I just love your tutorials that you do. They are so easy to follow also. I do quilts , but also love doing small projects a lot. Well I have to go for now but you have a very nice day and everyone you work with😊✂️
Thank you so much Louise for your thoughtful words. We are thrilled you have enjoyed our Sew Sampler box. We have such a blast putting it all together for our amazing customers. Take care!
You had me on picking out the stitches. I assume this technique will work with many blocks to reduce bulk. Normally i lay my fabric on a piece of wood and hammer the center (esp on pinwheels) to flatten! :) I'm going to have to try Sherri's technique ! Love the fabric line and cute placemats. Perfect for gift giving! Thanks
Made them entirely with materials on hand since I can’t go to my quilt shop and bond with fabric I love. Very successful except for machine binding. I tried. Ended up doing it by hand.
This was really fun to learn but I had directional fabric so half the squares are upside down. But I will definitely use for another project…Thank you!
I’m stumped. I made my 4 patch squares. In the video when you see them to the larger squares they are the same size. Because of the row of stitching, the 4 patch is .5” smaller. Did you trim the larger square to 4.5 and leave that out of the video?
Wish you would include your measurements for everything in the description or at the beginning of the video so i can quickly reference them. But anyways thanks for the video! I am going to try to make these.
This is a great video for making easy placemats. I can't wait to try this.

Hi Kimberley - you mentioned at the end of the video you'd add a link to show binding but it's not there. Which video did you mean? Thanks :)
Hi Liz - here is a link to the binding video we suggested: th-cam.com/video/VgaXP6kd8bc/w-d-xo.html Thanks for your question!
Thanks for that! I'm not great at binding and these placemats look like the perfect thing to practice on! Thanks for your fab fun tutorials :)
Another great video...thanks ladies. Kimberly, what brand of iron is that? I like it. Thanks
Do you have a printable copy of the tutorial?
Hello Ellie! No, there is not a printable pattern.
Do we need to wash the fabric beforehand?
Hello Elizabeth! No, we never recommend pre-washing for quilting fabric.
I couldn't find The Binding link
