    It’s my dream to move to New York when I’m 16 and I’m 13 an I know that’s really early but I don’t care I want to be there and breathe the and live there and eat there! I can’t wait! I live in Belfast Ireland and that’s my plan!

      hate to break it to you but moving there when you're 16 won't work you need a sustainable job to live there which isn't possible when you're 16.

    Lovely video as always. One of my biggest regrets is not taking the leap and moving to New York when I was in a better situation to do so. It still a dream of mine but not one that I think will happen now. To anyone who is thinking of doing it, just do it. Because there's nothing worse than regretting it later when you can't change it xx

    we just visited NYC this past weekend and it was so great! We stayed in an airbnb in williamsburg on north 6th st and bedford. We came across an amazing church community called C3 Brooklyn and it was so nice had not experienced God in such a tangible way in a while. It truly was a divine appointment and a total blessing! I am so happy to have found your channel, love your style, love your energy!

    When you say you applied through indeed, did you apply from the UK version or the NY version? Thanks!

    Loved this video, but it seems so much easier to move to NYC from Ireland than it is from the UK :(. I don't know if you'll find this too personal but how much money did you save to take with you as a start up (for apartment, furniture etc) x

      They are advertising it in government building's in Ireland, go to another country and we'll help. So Ireland has no 30year olds left and now most of our 20 year olds are leaving. Irish out third world in. Population replacement in full.

    Loved this. I've followed you for a few years & followed your journey on the grad visa. It inspired me to go for it last year after I finished my Masters. I moved to Massachusetts a few months ago & am in the middle of the whole H1B visa nightmare. Thanks for the inspiration x

    My sister went to New York as a student for Acting college and I'd love to do the same. It worries me so much though. I'm worried I won't be able to afford it and that I'll have to move back home like my sister did. This video really helped! Thank you so much for making it

      That’s interesting! What Visa did your sister get? And did she save a lot before moving? I’m really interested in studying acting in NYC after graduating from University but I don’t know how much to save or where I stay if I end up going...

      Keeping Up With The Kerns when a beautiful city California better than London its always wet Hardy never any sun next just so expensive there's not much jobs for creative jobs in Los Angeles it's you got the Beeches you got TV media fashion and at least with the with Los Angeles they give a chance to the young people getting into industry creative industry over here in the UK they keep the same old people for over 20 years in the same role doesn't really open the doors for young people

    Hi Erika, must say that first of all i love that we both have the same name and clearly love New York, its the one place on earth that i want to go to. this was a seriously helpful video so thanks a million. I would love to ask how are you still living in NYC even after the graduate visa? And also my main question is, you mentioned about doing a few J1s but that you did internships with them, i was wondering how you went about this as i thought you could only work lets say in a bar or something, because this is something id love to do. Thanks a million, xoxo Erika

    All the J visas are being reviewed in the White House and are more than likely going to be gotten rid of. It's extremely disappointing.

    Omg I needed this video so bad! I'm literally waiting to hear back about my graduate visa. Moving to Los Angeles next month all going to plan! 😎✈️ when the graduate visa is up, do you have to come home for 2 years before you can apply for a normal visa ? I saw that in the fine print but it was written all technically and it was hard to understand 🙄 also what visa are you on now? 😁

  • @ciaraswalsh

    Hi Erika! I'm really thinking of making the move too a few months after I graduate, I'm just wondering are the internships paid or do you have to have your own money going over? It would be great to get a paid internship! :)

    • @Erika_Fox
      @Erika_Fox  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Ciara, it depends on the company that you decide to intern for. Some companies will offer paid intern while others won't. For the companies that don't, it is always easy to find a bar or waitressing job :) All the best xx

    Loved this 💜 I did the j1 for a few summer's as well and get can the graduate visa this year too but can't make up my mind! can I ask you a really personal question..apart from the cost of visa/flights etc. How much $ would you recommend bringing?

    @webekeepinitrreal456 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    This was so helpful! Thank you for making it. I'm filling out applications myself to go over in October. Fingers crossed I'll be approved 🙏🙏🙏 Can I ask how did you manage to stay on after your graduate visa year? And when applying to companies for an internship did you find that they were put off by the time limitation on your visa? You're channel is amazing btw

    • @DafWejebe
      @DafWejebe 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      emer ryan she doesnt answer what happens after she finished the j1, so weird she doesnt answer that. I came with j1 too and managed to stay for grad school and then sponsored for a job, but she doesnt answer that nor answers that, and since she is self-employed it would be nice if she would to the ppl who asks those things

    Hi Erika!! How are you able to financially support yourself even with an internship living in the location that you do with the apartment that you have? Do you have more than just an internship? I'm trying to take notes as I grew up in New York and eventually I will move back and know how expensive the cost of living is! You're beautiful! Xx
