Its time to teardown the Galaxy s9, Samsungs latest flagship smartphone. There hasnt been a whole lot of change from the Galaxy S8, but one of the new additions is the 12mp variable aperture camera lens. Its time to review this tech from the inside. Magnets make the world go round, and the same is true here with the OIS and aperture switch inside this camera unit.
If you break anything on your Galaxy S9, this video shows the process of me repairing and replacing all the major components. Whether it is a cracked screen, broken charging port or a dead battery it all comes out in this video.

Solution to get rid of Bixby
Software guy: Roots phone, remaps button
Hardware guy: Rips cables out
Or Or U go to settings ? And there is thing Called Disableing Bixby
Or do what I did and using the Bixby settings set the Bixby button to "open camera app" anduse it to quickly bring up your camera when you need to. :)

I was a lot less impressed because from the outside it looks busier and more sophisticated than it actually was, but it's only a 2-blade aperture. But they're onto something there and I wouldn't be surprised if they designed a seven-bladed aperture in the future :3 (at least that's the hope lol)
@@gian3458 It's likely only a two blade aperture setup as it's Samsung's first attempt at a camera sensor with aperture blades. They have to fit that in as well as the image sensor, lens housings for the aperture blades and OIS mechanism, and the extra RAM behind the sensor allowing for 960fps slow motion.
Frankly, I'd love to see more of this as well but there isn't too much of a difference between F/1.5 and 2.4 in terms of depth of field, not to mention the whole Night Sight "intelligent long exposure shot" trend basically solving the issues of low light photography shebang.

This is an amazing, a very informative video. I learned a lot of what's inside my S9 (plus). Didn't know the mechanism behind the variable aperture and the the flash that is now with diffuser, until I watched this video.

Joe Soap it was funny and very true 😁 but it's definitely not about validation. Samsung has definitely been leading the pack for a few years now in the progression of tech in their phones, if anyone denys that they are lying to themselves. When Apple generally implements tech many people act like it's new yet it is generally them mastering something for their intended consumer and they do a much better job at implementing it and selling it yet it is revised tech instead of new.

Either way, I’ll get back to you when Samsung release their 3D Touch feature they must’ve invented years ago since they supposedly had it before Apple.
In any case I guess it’s not worth taking about because clearly there’s no point improving anything. Everyone knows it’s only worthwhile having a feature if the company have invented it from scratch. First iteration tech or nothing!
Joe Soap you may mistake my stance as I'm not saying Apple hasn't invented things because they indeed changed the game with the iPhone upon realease along with some other aspects along the way... But within recent Samsung has been at the front of tech. The fact that Apple takes a more perfected approach to catering new/revised tech to their customers is not a flaw but a great thing for user experience. However the comment/jab by Jerry was funny for what it was and true. (Ex. Face ID, water resistance, larger screens, no home buttons, OLED, etc)
And I doubt Samsung will do 3D touch as Samsung/Android already uses a long press that is as effective with less cost of implementing 3D touch. I personally prefer Android to IOS (Pixel 2XL) yet I also have an Apple Work phone (6S). I understand what makes each phone great and it really comes down to preference. I have historically loved Samsung Galaxy & Note phones but admit Samsung focuses too much on everything they can offer in a phone (paper specs) rather than it's overall user experience.
This guy is the only one who makes the most informative videos on smartphones these days...... Three cheers for this guy and hit like if you agree🙏🤘🏼

I just bought the S9, I come from an iphone SE, and so far this is an amazing upgrade for me. But seeing the s9 being teared apart, kinda hurt hahahaha. Love your channel dude!

My iphone se died becuase of me forgetting to disconnect the battery, when I already disconnected the display cables, frying the phone. I then went to a galaxy note 4, which promptly bootlooped after a software update, after a month of use. Then, I went to the LG v30 (still have), then the S9.

whenever you buy a Samsung or OnePlus or whateverc that ‘skin’ you see (Oxygen OS for example) means the Android OS made by google has been altered by some third party.
That 3rd party doesn’t have to be Samsung or whatever company that manufactured & sold the phone either. Not too good for security, cos they theoretically have the opportunity to insert any code they want.

I've had my Galaxy S7 since it came out, and I've had my Galaxy s4 since it came out. Both of the batteries work amazingly, and I have never had to replace them.

I don't think so because it depends on the side of the battery so you cannot change small one with 3000 to one with higher capacity

Noikia,N82(2007) ,N8,N808,1020 has a ND filter that closes the camera lens and opens when more light is required. Which was an awesome feature. Its good to see some companies are doing real hardware or optical innovations in the camera!!
