On Amazon they do say that these are not suitable for freezers. However I do see the word "outdoor" in the description.
Inkbird has similar sensors rated for freezers and also units with temp sensors on cords that seem like good options for freezers and compost and soil. I’ve not played with them yet but I did buy a few.
