I just realized a pattern
When he breaks a block, a mob spawns according to how much space there is above it
So if he breaks a block with a block right above it, since it creates a 1-block-high space, it spawns mobs that are no taller than 1 block
If he breaks a block with 1 block of space above it then it can spawn mobs that are 2 blocks high
That's why when he mined in caves he mostly got 1 block tall mobs like fish or parrots but when he broke grass it spawned ghasts slimes and withers because grass on the surface has a ton of space above it
Maybe he should do this challenge again with this information
