Congratulations to this kid, he's probably excited to have a nice PC and I believe building your own gives a sense of accomplishment, at least that's the way I felt.
Man, I missed the price breakdown of the CPU,Ram and Mobo, and was really confused on your choice of the H270 mini itx because of it's non sale price, but the deal you got was great!! Nice build, especially for the price of the components.
I'd recommend going with a Ryzen build with this case because you end up probably spending the same amount you spent on the older hardware. Especially since the 3000 series of Ryzen is coming out really soon it should be a good upgrade or if anyone else reading this comment is getting ideas I'd go that route.
I would not go semi modular in this case. It's the only time I wouldn't in a mini itx case because the semi modular cables stick out so the ends of the wire protrude onto your gpu whether you like it or not and you just have to watch the wires be bent up against the GPU backside. It's painful to look at but I guess it should be fine but a normal ATX power supply is fine as I can see from your video its cleaner and doesn't interfere with the GPU unless you had one that was probably the longest length the PC case could go.
Kinda of a weird decision going for the 850 Evo in a tight budget like this. Even more going for the 500Gb model. An ok Sandisk Plus 240Gb for half the price, and a WD Blue 1TB would've been just fine, and cheaper. Nice video otherwise.
Many people go that route, and it's fine, I just prefer to stick with only using SSD's and the 500GB will last a while, and when he needs more storage, he can just add another SSD.
and what a great luxury it is but I do agree with you guys though. Go the HDD route first and then later you can add the SSD when your budget increases.
Well done on picking up quality parts. That 970 topped it off, and i must say the build is sharp. I ran into a deal like that, and picked up a r9 390 MSI gaming for 100.00 also. It's in my guest pc, with a 4690k.
Great component choice if you ask me. For the games he is playing, this will do the job just fine. Nice one! Always enjoyable to teach someone about building a PC :-)
Sorry for late response. You probably already found out the answer. I wouldn't go by Amazon's descriptions at all. It is totally wrong. Goto Cougar's site. The case supports psu's up to 140mm in length like the one you saw used in the build in the video. Standard ATX psu's are not all the same length however. I popped an Evga 650 G3 in that case and had to bend the psu support bracket on the bottom for it to fit. That psu is 150mm and is considered compact. Oddly enough when Amazon is saying only SFX psu's I tried a Silverstone SX650-G and it would not fit as it was way too small. It would only align with 2 out of the four mounting holes.
The Cougar QBX-Kaze has better airflow, also I think it would be cool to see a build using the GIGABYTE GA-AB350N-Gaming, it's out of stock now unfortunately, but it's an awesome great price AM4 ITX board that came out 2 days ago. I managed to get one before it went out of stock. I'm hoping it's better than the biostar one that AM4 adopters have been stuck with for months now. :)
My entry level pc is just a 1050Ti and an ssd slapped onto a Dell Optiplex with sandy bridge i5. gtx 970 would have been a better choice but then I would also have needed a new PSU. If I had had the option of building the whole PC I would have picked a Ryzen 5 1600 for versatility. But the i5 is a solid choice considering the cheap motherboard you were able to find.
Ok that makes sense. Nothing wrong with i5, they probably have a good 5 years in them or more, depending how soon game engines get better at using more threads evenly.
Why would you go for 7500 instead of Ryzen if you are looking for future proof? You could have even squeeze a R5 1600 if you have cutted down some of the parts.
Ahh those first world problems going depressed for a low fps count on a video game, while people on the other half of the world are getting shot and have no water to drink
need an advice here, i want to upgrade from 960 to either 1060/1070 or 580/480 but cant decide which will go good with my i5-4460 i have 550 corsair psu (So i kinda want to not upgrade the psu right now just my gpu) also 16gb ram and h81-GAMER mobo still available in my country (Thank god) so yeah any advices?
For i5 4460 3,2 Ghz, the best pair is with RX 570/580/470/480 or GTX 1060 6 GB. If you buy GTX 1070, your PC will be bottleneck. This is my suggest for you, buy RX 470 first, and saving again for a couple month, upgrade you CPU with i7 4970 (non K), and then sell you i5 4460 and RX 470, and buy GTX 1070, if you want more future proof.
It's a mini itx case you want to stray away from anything that's going to add even a little bit more weight. I have this case and I would not bother putting an HDD unless I needed to.
it is OK I guess but if you are from the UK I recommend going to this site ( pricespy.co.uk ) it is a price comparison website and compares more websites than PCPartPicker and then go for the cheapest RAM and Storage as those things are expensive also my 16GB DDR4 from eBay (Corsair Vengeance LPX 2666Mhz 8x2GB) cost me less than the one stick you have listed use eBay some people want to get rid of stuff they may have and not need as well as
also just modified your part list (uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/GZ6xM8) and got you a better CPU and GPU as well as faster RAM for the price and managed to squeeze in a high quality individual fan as this case has less fans though many of the parts are red accented such as red RAM and red LED fans as well as red LED MOBO (the one in your build was also red) the only thing without red accents is the SSD which has yellow accents and is from Corsair
Im planning on a watercooling build with a 1080 TI and a 7700K. I really liked your build on the 400C (really liked the psu shroud) and the Fractal Design (really liked the size) one and Im stuck between mATX or ATX case. Also it would be great if you could send me links to your parts on the custom loops if I decide on a case. pcpartpicker.com/list/Vgj9zM
Both of those builds were pretty tricky due to space constraints. I strongly suggest going with a larger case for your first time, and then once you feel more comfortable with the process, work your way in to a smaller form factor.
Even though you don't plan on SLI in the future, there will be a heck of a lot more options for ATX motherboards. Mid towers with great water cooling support: Fractal Define S, Phanteks EVOLV, Phanteks Pro M, Corsair 570X, Thermaltake View 31, NZXT Noctis 450, etc
I've built in this COUGAR case. I think it sucks. Very bad feeling all around on the materlials and the build quality. Also, no cable managment options
i got a qbx, used a corsair sf450 to power the system. i5 7600k, phanteks 120mm cooler, radeon rx480 nitro+, 2 ssd's and 3x slim silverstone tek fans. Overall good case for the little money it cost
on the website says that support standard atx psu, and definitly it does. I choose the sfx one because i like that psu, low but more than enough wattage at 80plus gold certification, looks good, the size help management, the stock modular cables are short and gives a clean look
Flippity they are cheaper, future proof, better stock cooler, better Apus ( if you are going down that road), and with the 3k series price to performance will be insane
Mosquitnoville That's solid if you manage to get that 1060 for a reasonable price. However I'd suggest dropping down to a 1050 ti unless you can get that 1060 for 250 or less

He's a natural PC builder. Now put him to work sleeving cables and PETG bending. LOL
Kidding aside, he really was a natural
Great video man I hope the kid stays happy with the new system
Would a cheaper SSD and a Ryzen 1400 allow for more budget for the GPU? And possibly better overclocking and performance with hyperthreading?
Solid vid... and I hope he shares his "minesweeper @ 4K" benchmarks lol. Keep up the great work.
Man, I missed the price breakdown of the CPU,Ram and Mobo, and was really confused on your choice of the H270 mini itx because of it's non sale price, but the deal you got was great!! Nice build, especially for the price of the components.
any reason you didn't use thermal paste for the CPU?
EadieCD Usually stock coolers have the thermal paste pre applied.
Seina Assadian that's what I thought, just didn't see any mention of it. thanks!
The intel stock coolers come with thermal paste pre-applied.
It looks like 3 gray strips.

Evan Rogers At Micro Center they're actually having a very nice sale on Samsung memory

Thanks! Yes, this is perfect for him. He's loving it.
Im not really digging the case, but the small form factor really makes up for it
Do a follow up vid an how much better his fps is. Great to see someone learn they can do what others think is just to hard to do.
I'm not sure if I'll do that, but I can tell you it's working out great for him and he loves it
holy shoot I didn't realize that you uploaded this in 2017 and your friend sold you a GTX 970 for a 100 bucks 2 years ago wtf!?
why in the amazon listing of this case it says you need a SFX PSU? that evga you used is a standard PSU and I see it fits just fine!
That's odd. A standard ATX PSU definitely fits.
Sorry for late response. You probably already found out the answer.

@@trembledust6819 planning on doing this is it ok to bend the PSU support? I bought a seasonic m12II evo unfortunately it's not 140mm. It's 160mm...
@@JoeCarlBunda IMO long as it isn't interfering with anything or cause a significant reduction for the support of the psu post bend...sure.

Unfortunately, we put this together almost 2 months ago and there were no AM4 ITX boards available so that pretty much ruled out Ryzen 5.
The kaze looks uglier imo

Do you think you can fit a corsair H60 in this case?
Why would you go for 7500 instead of Ryzen if you are looking for future proof?
You could have even squeeze a R5 1600 if you have cutted down some of the parts.
I thought the socket for the psu had to be sideways, or else it wouldn't be compatible with the qbx
How u put front fan ? The skru hole on the front fan panel is small like ssd screw
What case do you recommend else then this case?
Are you asking what case I would recommend other than this one? Specifically ITX?
Good man Teach them while they are young.
Will a psu with following size fit?
(L) 150 x (W) 165 x (H) 86
