My Muay thai coach once told me an interesting story about Kyokishin fighters, the man who invented the style sent 3 of his fighters to face off against the thai's, 2 out of the 3 actually won (admittedly they were permitted to use elements of judo which helped them greatly in the clinch) point being Muay Thai practitioners should always hold respect for Kyokishin fighters for the punishment they can both dish out and as absorb.

Proper utilization of the side kick would have helped this Kyokushin fighter a lot. Didn't see him use it once. Instead, he implement the front push kick against a fighter who was better at using the front push kick and was unable to maintain spacing to time his head kicks because of it. The knee lift of front push kick and side kick can both be utilized to block roundhouse kicks, but a side kick can also hook the back of the knee against an opponent's front push kick and drive passed it if you aim the blade of the foot for the same side floater rib just above the hip of the opponent's kicking leg.

Yellow belt fought well, but he kept falling for the same muay thai moves over and over. Guess it could have been his first time fighting against muay thai too. But yeah he never was able to figure out a counter. Honestly I didn't see him use many axe kicks if any at all.. ((idk if they are allowed or not in this particular fight)).. they seem to work well against muay thai , but i'd assume that the muay thai guy was a better fighter and probs a bit smarter than the yellow belt in fighting overall.

There is no such thing as an ultimate art all arts have their pros and cons and for someone to say otherwise is eighter ignorant or just promoting their own art. There is a lot of clips and I've seen this personally where Kyokushin beats many art and Muay Thai dominates many art also and that could be said about many other arts. So if you do a certain art it does not mean everyone who study that art is undefeatable lol you are mislead and very mistaken. In the early days the fore mentioned techniques were allowed however people have work and lives outside of the martial arts, so the knockdown rules are implemented. however, many dojos still do all-round free sparring with gear on. My old dojo had this and we could use any technique we wanted as long as you didn't knock the other guy out. It just depends on what dojo you go to and cross training, but yes the knockdown rules are a double edged sword.

There are face punching when gloved. Their knockdown rules are not the only way they spar. Clubs deep in to kyokushin tournaments tend not to do elbows and grappling. But I've also trained with a kyokushin guy in the early 90s (who is the source of what i think i know of kyokushin) who could defend take downs and grapple standing up in our judo and jj sessions. Ok, zero groundwork. His sweeps and shin to shin trips/kicks were no joke on the grapple. He knew hip throws, osoto gari/gake, de ashi barai and a type of hiza guruma which was what I would describe as a shin kick under the knee together with a shoulder tug. Brutal. He learnt these in his karate club and sparred enough with it to be able to use it. I can't imagine all kyokushin losing his type of techniques and training. I have to assume that different clubs focus on different aspects.

Kyokushin has more limited punches. I think Kyokushin would win in the streets. Muythai would win in the ring

Como amo, cuando le dan una paliza a los engreidos karatecas, en espcial a los del Kyokushin(que se la pasan mame y mame, que su sistema es mejor que todos, mejor que el TKD, Shotokan, etc).

The Kyokushinkai guy is just a yellow belt. Not doing too badly really, for that level. A Kyokushinkai black belt would clean this MT guy up.
Although, to be fair we don't know the experience level of the MT guy.
