It's a Karate comp, so they're fighting under karate rules.
If it was under Muay Thai rule than that karate guy will get ko, because in kyokushin karate you can’t punch in the face but Muay Thai do.
@@user-qc2kn2ks7j with gloves obviously. in kyokushin it is without
In lethwei which is another version of Muay Thai, they use nare knuckle and it was more dangerous than Muay Thai.
I like that with this style of karate you can fight without gloves and it can stand up to an MA like Muay Thai. But I do wish I could see its practitioners try their skills under Muay Thai rules
It’s too hard for them to try our rules. So many deathly moves we can do don’t exist in karate. And the fact that they forbid face blow makes it hard for them to fight with other martial arts without karate rules except taekwondo.

@@jessadalim8497 In fact, there's a lot of knees, elbows and even headbutts in kyoku. The fact that too much dojo have a too rigid approach of "no protection kumite" is quite a sad flaw. The original version of Kyoku was full range. The art would really gain a lot by accepting 2 kind of kumite : No protection, no head punches "has usual" and gloves and/or helmet and full range of techniques in a more "mma/muay approach.
@@jessadalim8497 actually not because if you research there are many kyokushin fighters who went to k1 and shone winning against angry kickboxer muay thai fighters and such anyway I'll leave just 2 names here from kyokushin who shone in k1. Andy Hug and Francisco Filho

@@val4803because there are no gloves used in kyokushin fights. We dont want our faces deformed, this is however the only flaw kyok has - not allowing punches to the face.

Every time I see Muay Thai fighting other martial arts, having to fight with the rules of the opponent.
Yeah, do one round with muay thai rules. Over in less than a minute
As a Kyokushin practitioner and avid fan...I will admit that Muay Thai fighter looked very restrained compared to what I've seen them do, looks like he was heavily limited.
But, counterpoint, just because Kyokushin doesn't use grapples, elbows, face punches etc in tournaments doesn't mean we don't practice to use them in a street fight. I train in Kyokushin to this day, and we have regular self defense training sessions which are based on street fighting situations, and "dirtier" techniques if you want to call it that. If the Kyokushin fighter was told they could fight by Muay Thai rules, don't just assume they wouldn't have a number of new techniques unlocked for them.
@@Kiljaedenas I asume some eye pocking n groint kicks. still man some elbows can really fuck up your faces. big open wound. I practice boxing casually as some people do basketball. same thing, dont go to any tournaments just practicing. but ive been involved n saw fights. Actually in Kyokushin training we regularly do face punches of various kinds, elbows, joint strikes, neck strikes...we simply choose not to use those in sparring matches because we know how much damage we can do with them and want to keep the students safe. But all of that training is STILL THERE, ready to be used at a moments notice.
@@Kiljaedenas same my sensei teaches some techniques for street fights like how to punch the jaw or head but on the nose or how to do arm throw and how to lock your opponent if the fight gets to the ground
And sometimes there is even gymnastics and parkour basically if we need to run away we can just do some parkour
Wow that “muay Thai” guy was.....really good.

Not Muay Thai. The stance and hand guards are dead giveaways that the 'muay thai' guy is a Shotokan Karate stylist.

With all due respect, this is absolutely not Muay Thai vs Kyokushin.
I think the only way you can stop or win against kyokushin is to have a footwork and counter head kick

@@WasiulWahid-ot7cj kyokushin fighters can take face punches. They train it a lot but a lot of the time they don't allow it in competition
@@lightnangThe whole concept of the style was built around no punching in the face. The fighter is continually looking at the body and defending their own body at very close range. A high level Thai fighter would have an elbow field day. 😂

Few points: whenever a Muaythai guy is fighting another style he never fight in Muaythai rules, most of the fights I see on TH-cam between Muaythai and another style you will find the Muaythai guys are beginners like the guy in this clip and the other guy is advanced like this kyokushin black belt who spent at least 4 years training while the MT guy I would say less than 6 months from my knowledge. Unfair fights always.
Great point, another thing is that they usually aren’t allowed to clutch either, China tries to protect its traditional martial arts. But Muay Thai is definently better

What leads me to say the following is seeing the people supporting Muay Thai in the comments. Honestly, the fight between Kyokushin and Muay Thai will never end, because everyone thinks their style is the best and superior to others. But the reality is that no style is better than others. And before I get replies saying that I'm from Muay Thai covering up for this video, I'm actually from Kyokushin (now isn't that a surprise). But one last thing I think I need to mention is that the argument isn't only just not going anywhere, it makes you lower your confidence in your style for no reason, because I say again, there's no superior style! Also Kyokushin does have punches to the head, I should let you know 😜
I'm trying to be not as bias as I can, both are pretty similar and good for street fights, tournaments etc
i whole heartedly agree with you
@@Bryan-jj3if thanks, that’s good to hear
In my opinion in a streetfight a kyokushin fighter will cause more damage with their punches since they train bareknuckle and they condition their knuckles. Muay thai they mostly train with gloves so their bare knuckle punches on the street wont be as deadly, but their kicks though will be deadly in a street fight especially their clinche. Still both kyoukushin and mauy thai are amazing arts.

I been learning Muay boran and muay thai for a really long time and this guy didn't do good with his Muay Thai skills because there wasn't that Muay Thai elbows strikes and he has to get better on the low kicks because it's distracts your opponent and he didn't do the teep know as the front kick and his chin wasn't down and his stance was wrong
@@hackermanhack8628 mmmkay 🤣
This is due to the sportization of martial arts, muay boran has "evolved" in competitions for muay thai, but there are academies in Thailand that preserve muay boran techniques, but only for high rope students, which apparently is not the level of the fighter in the video, besides the fact that the two are in a competition, I wanted to see a street fight where there are no rules, that's a martial art
Es correcto, si fuesen con las reglas del Muay Thai sería totalmente diferente.
Pero si fuese el karate kyokushin VS Muay Boran sería excelente verlo en acción y ms si utilizaran reglas del karate y Muay Boran.
Kyokushin beat muay thai at kyokushin... what a pride.
The kyokushin guy is phenomenal but he has no reason to further attack a surrendering or an opponent who timed out
I was always curious what is the motivation for muay thai boxers to follow kyokushin rules. It is their field and they have advantage, I haven't seen many videos of kyokushun guys fighting in muay thai rules, though. It would be more interesting
Because muay thai is superior and they wanna prove that
that muay thai guy was fast indeed, but he was forgetting about the stance every time and it was like he was doing karate instead of muay thai
No clinch, no knees, no face contact, no frontkicks, no elbows...
It was "Muay Thai" just for the pants, probably 😅👍
This is actually pretty cool I really do love looking at stuff like this it really is cool unleashing your inner warrior kyokushin karate and Muay Thai are very powerful and unique in their own way and their own style and way of life 🥋☯️👊😉👍☯️🥋
So what was the decision btw?
This entire fight was tailored towards the Kyokushin fighter, the Muay Thai fighter had to abide by Kyokushin rules which means him not being allowed to hit in the face, if hitting in the face was allowed the Kyokushin fighter would be done.
What the name of Thays Guy feom karatê ?

Karate has degraded over the years since 1930, after gigo funakoshi incorporated savate(French kickboxing) and left out the old training methodology of okinawan Tangdo for commercial popularity, western acceptence and non necessary "safety rules".

Kyokushin is a lethal martial art but it has a radical flaw: they don't do conditioning for punches to the face in combat. I've seen a clip of Kyokushin vs Muay Thai were the Thai threw a single punch to the face of the Kyokushin guy and he basically died... It wasn't even a full force hit, it was a punch out of a low kick, something that's programmed into the mind of the Thai fighter. The Kyokushin guy fell down as if he got punched by Mayweather.
