No one sneaks onto lists like Gaston. There are far more powerful Disney villains. Like Judge Claude Frollo, who has not only an army but the power of the church at his disposal. At his command, all of Paris was set on fire and placed under martial law. And when all that fails, he's not as bad with a sword as his age might have you believe.
Even worse, he manages to do all this as a mere human being. Not an evil wizard, nor an overpowered entity, or even a sorcerer, but a genuine down-to-earth human. Makes it scarier, because he's a reminder that real evil actually exists out there in our corrupt planet..

If they wanted to pick some mortal villains then characters like Frollo or Sykes from Oliver and Company would be ahead of Gaston for their ruthless forms of power.

Ironically, the beast as a human is actually more prettier than Gaston, Belle didn’t like Gaston because of how moronic and rude he is, but he looks kinda sexy, but Belle falls in love with the beast and when the beast turns back into a human, Belle loves him even more, because he looks more prettier than Gaston, especially in the beginning of the Beauty and the Beast live action film
The Disney version of Hades (voiced by James Woods) is my personal favorite.
I'm glad Scar made it onto this list. He is my favorite of the bunch.

If we're doing animated series', Lord Oberon is the king. Mozenrath would be up there too. They even specifically called him 'Jafar Jr.' in his debut.

Xanatos is more Square Enix
than Disney, however.
I mean, is Xanatos really a villain? Antagonist sure, but his motivations are far more nuanced than your standard Disney foe. The guy could have just smashed Goliath at any daytime hour but respects him too much not to do it.
@@benwasserman8223 He wanted to control the Manhattan clan... not destroy them... to study and use them for his own gain, I think slavery counts as a bad deed, not only killing is part of a villain... but yeah, he may be an antagonist, but his schemes is what makes him powerful... because if we go only by power i strenght and feats, I think only Hades would be in this top
Honestly Chernabog really should’ve be number 1 cause he is the best representation of pure evil and was described as satan. I’m actually surprised Lady Tremaine wasn’t a honorable mention, sure she didn’t have any powers but she had control over Cinderella’s life.

She does get control of the Fairy Godmother's wand in the 3rd film and turns back time to change Cinderella's happy ending and put Anastasia in her place as revenge, but her most terrifying power is manipulation.
I could place him on No.#2 cause nothing can be so powerful than a God of Death like Hades.

Pretty sure Chernobog is the most powerful since, in Fantasia, he's supposed to be Satan.
I mean, Satan has godlike powers, and he's the ruler of Hell. Hades is also a god, and the ruler of the Underworld. They're kinda on even footing. It's pitting Judeo-Christian mythology against Greek mythology.

When I saw that both Chernabog and Maleficent, my two top options, placed lower on the list, I was left wondering who would be #1. Never would've pictured Hades as the most powerful animated Disney villain, but then again, he is a GOD.
So is Chernabog, yet…they placed Jafar higher!? That REALLY doesn’t make sense. How in the world does WatchMojo think a mortal man is stronger than a god!? 4 should’ve been Jafar, 3 Maleficent, 2 Chernabog and 1 Hades.
Remember that Jafar became a genie with 'PHENOMENAL COSMIC POWER!'.
@@ChibiProwl a genie in Aladdin can alter reality and has nigh unlimited power, Chernabog while powerful has more mundane weakness and his full potential are not shown.

I would definitely and totally consider Maleficent, Jafar, Hades, Gaston LeGume, Professor Ratigan, Dr. Facilier, Scar, Ursula, William Clayton and Oogie Boogie all to be Cunning, Ruthless, Merciless, Smart, Manipulative and Powerful.

I'm glad the Horned King at least got a mention. Despite the awfulness of the Black Cauldron, He was both frightening and intimidating as a villain. Plus being voiced by the legendary John Hurt gives him an instant win in my book.
He's actually kinda powerful being able to raise an army of the dead.
Hades is one of the best and most funny and likable villain of animated movies , i would say he is even more important than Hercules

When playing the first Kingdom Hearts back in '02, I was fighting my way through the End of the World when Sora and Co. were dropped into a dark mountainscape. I heard the opening bars of Modest Mussorgsky's "A Night on Bald Mountain" and I was like "You've got to be freaking kidding me!' Then I see the kaiju-sized demon rising from the mountain and I said "I've got to fight Chernobog?!?!" It came out of nowhere, but it was an awesome surprise to me as a gamer and as a Disney fan.
Word it took me like at least a week to beat him

@@Naruto0s44 I cheese my way through that battle soooo hard. I cast aero and fly out of range of most of his attacks, and then I mash triangle to make Donald and goofy fight chernabog and take out most of his health. It’s slow, but they come back to life and I don’t. So I hide like a b*tch.
I never realized how brutal Syndrome was as a kid, but now I always get goosebumps when I see how many supers he killed
I saw Night on Bald Mountain when I was three and I wasn’t scared even a little bit. In fact I actually liked that number.
Chernabog has the simplest yet most beautiful and Terrifying design of any Disney Villian ever made.
I wish he got an entire film.

As much as I loved the Live action Aladdin I would have loved if Disney added the Jafar-cobra scene because that was my nightmare fuel as a kid and was disappointed that Disney didn’t put that scene in the live action remake and to see a live action version of the cobra would have been cool
Chernabog for no apparent reason, never scared me as a kid, I mean sure he is scary and summon demons, but that part of Fantasia didn’t give me nightmares.
Chernabog is the most Terrifying of all the Disney Villains. I really wish he would have a Son in Descendants 4.

Chernabog totally should be number 1 on this list, cause he’s literally the devil himself just in the Disney universe, he has condemned thousands of souls to his lair, and would stop at nothing to get what he wants, he may not be immune to Heaven’s light, but he’s certainly the most powerful being there is, he literally is the true face of all evil villains from Disney, he is the stuff of what pain and nightmares are made of.
Hades and Maleficent coming on top brings a smile to me and my childhood.

How is the Coachman of Pinocchio not even in the honourable mention?
Sure he was minor villain but unlike other Disney villains the Coachman gets away with his crimes on kidnapping and turning boys into donkeys on Pleasure Island before he sells them to salt mines and circuses for profit. He is also very sadistic to the point even Honest John and Gideon fear him and it is implied he isn’t a person but presumably a devil when he shows his evil face.
How did Randall not at least get a dishonorable mention? Dude kidnapped Boo and was going to suck the fear out of her!
Chernabog is the most powerful since he is the strongest of demons in the Disney universe and could be considered their version of the ultimate evil.

To animate Chernabog, the Disney animators rotoscoped Bela Lugosi. They got him to perform his famous "Dracula" moves, then transferred them to the animated character.

I would elevate the Queen of Hearts from Alice to Wonderland to the list. All she has to utter is "Off with their heads!" and someone dies within minutes. That is undeniably a huge power source.

Villains like Syndrome don’t need magic or superpowers to be powerful. That’s what’s cool about them. They either have strong intelligence or they’re easily manipulative. And I love that about them.
I've always been hesitant to call Chernabog a villain when there isn't a protagonist who opposes him. He's effectively a chaotic-neutral character.

Top 10 most powerful Disney villains indeed. Some were likable, charismatic, or intimidating. Yet they still retain the mindset of getting what they want even if by force.

@@bourne8636chernabog's main contender is literally god himself. Chernabog can never be deleted because he is eternal and is in another wait class as a literally embodiment of evil. Bill needs that rift to flex his powers.
The definition of "powerful" should consist in both personal strengths (magical or not), intelligence/cunning and influence in their respective worlds (wealthy, commanding armies, causing fear, etc.), and some of those on the list really shouldn't made the cut as they either severely lacked something or started "weak" in their movies:
-Syndrome is from Pixar; yes, it's a Disney subsidiary now, but for having honorable mentions, clearly he could have been cut.
-Ursula sole gimmick is to trick people into signing contracts, which Facilier does the same, but with a whole shadow army at his disposal, he's a much bigger treat.
-The Evil Queen barely has any power to say the least. Order a single huntsman to kill Snow White and later poison an apple aside drinking something that only deforms her face and voice. Out of every magic user out there, she's surely the lamest one.
-Jafar shouldn't be cut, but be much lower on this list and definitely NOT above Chernabog who can summon every sort wicked spirit and demon.
-Definitely should put Horned King on 3rd, behind Chernabog and Hades.
