    Why u selected particular location to evalute slope in AB line,,is there any rule ,or random we can select?if i take intersection point at A to B with differenc slope line then value come differeny

    Sir what the references we took the slope kI/Im in that positin of curve ? I mean why we took at 400°c ?

      The 2014 Edition of ASME B31.3, Process Piping [1], introduced significant changes to the post weld heat treatment (PWHT) requirements for P-No. 1 carbon steel materials. In particular, PWHT is no longer a mandatory requirement for any wall thickness provided that multi-pass welding is employed for wall thicknesses greater than 5 mm (3/16 of an inch) and a minimum preheat of 95°C (200°F) is implemented for wall thicknesses greater than 25 mm (1 inch). Detailed fracture mechanics analyses have shown that the lack of a mandatory PWHT requirement for thicker P-No. 1 components may result in a significant increase in risk for brittle fracture failures due to near-yield level weld residual stresses. Given the concern throughout the pressure vessel and piping community regarding potential brittle fracture failures, this updated PWHT guidance is examined.

      @@WeldingNDTInspection is it mandatory to BHN TEST AFTER THE PWHT AND ALSO IF THE VALUE EXCEED THE PERMIT VALUE WHAT WILL DO.
      AS per ARAMCO STD it's saying more test on all sample need to carried out but in all case still the value exceed what action we can do.

    Please tell me How to decide the location of the slope curve at a rate of the location?

    • @WeldingNDTInspection
      @WeldingNDTInspection  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pick two points on the line and determine their coordinates. Determine the difference in y-coordinates of these two points (rise). Determine the difference in x-coordinates for these two points (run). Divide the difference in y-coordinates by the difference in x-coordinates (rise/run or slope).

    Dear Sir,
    I have a question for you.
    In my shop, I am welding 5 mm thick mild steel plates continuously ( which is using in high temp. Applications)
    Is thier any requirement for that case to preheat and post heat heat treatment.
    If yes.. Please tell accordingly the systematic procedure as below,
    1. Which method should I use to preheat and post heat the welding.
    2. How much should I consider heating temp., soaking time, cooling time..
    Request you to please look into this case immediately.
    Thank you

      Dear, it's mild steel with 5 mm thickness, no need preheat and PWHT, thickness more than 25 mm required PWHT.
