Hello Mrs R.K., How are you today ? As usual, I was smiling through the video and laughed when I saw the " diaper " . great way to keep the floor clean . Mr Snuggles seemed to enjoy the foot wash and massage so much ! May I suggest putting more saw dust in the other nesting spot and little house ? It might get Miss Squeaky to finally lay her egg . It might be a silly idea, but never know, it might work ! Sending many hugs your way, thank you so much for sharing this adventure with us. Have a beautiful day !
HI Louve, so lovely to hear from you. Am glad you found Mr Snuggles in his diaper as amusing as I did . He was so very good about it too. I tried to keep him on his tray, but he had other ideas, and so diaper it had to be. Great idea about a deeper layer of nesting material. Appreciate you mentioning it, and I am sure Squeak will too! Have a wonderful day.
Birds get friendly and more calm around you when you are the one feeding them and handling them but you must be gentle and also not handle them to much so they can socialize between themselves while you are not there
Hi Tim, good luck with your hatch. Totally agree with the comment below - if you feed them something nice regularly (but not too many treats, which can be bad for their health) and handle them gently, they will learn to trust you. A little bit of time with them every day helps. They also like you to talk to them as chatter helps them understand your mood and that you are being friendly. Treat them as if they were smart because they really are,a nd will remember if you do something that makes them afraid. They will soon see you as a member of their flock. However the bit about them learning their own flock hierarchy is also an important balance. Even more so when there is a rooster inthe mix. Mr Snuggle does try to challenge me for dominance sometimes and gets a bit jealous/protective of his hens, so it is a balancing act. Good luck with yours! Have a great day.
Hen Drama 😂😂 They sure do love their mommy time. Mr Snuggles was really enjoying his spa day. Squeaky”s little noises are so funny. I hope she does not try to leave while searching for a nesting spot. Hatch Day getting close🥰 So exciting.
Hi Janelle, so glad you enjoyed it today. Mr Snuggles really loved getting his snuggles and treats in the house without having to worry about keeping vigilant for his hens - he is always on alert when outdoors. Such a good rooster! And you should have seeen his face when I was moisturising his comb - he was in heaven. He makes me laugh. (it was all a bit to omuch too put in the video. lol.) Great to hear from you, and have a wonderful day!
Sweet pea and precious are so adorable! Ms snuggles seems to enjoy his diaper. Cute. 😉 Our chicks hatched today. Can't wait to see yours. I'm interested to see how precious and sweet pea will take care of their chicks. Did you already think about names for the chicks?
Thank you! Great news about your hatch - how are they all doing? How many chicks hatched? My fingers are corssed for Precious and Sweet Pea to have some friendly dynamics with the chicks! I have not thought of names as I like to wait for their personalities to show a bit first. Have you named yours? Have a great day.
@@r.k.dreamingspetchickens1266 Two chicks hatched. I think they enjoy being under their lovely mom. It's warm and soft... I think they will have friendly dynamics with the chicks. They look really careful and protective over the eggs. I haven't... I Can't really see them... They're hiding under their mom most of the time. I want them to grow so I can see their unique feathers and name them by that.
Mr. Snuggles is a beautiful color! I can tell he was so happy when you were petting him- he was doing the ‘beak smacks’ (when they sort of nibble at nothing). It means a bird is very content. So cute! 🥰
Aaw, thanks! They say roosters' plumage keeps changing for the first year, so it will be interesting to see what he looks like after his first moult. I had heard the same about the beak smacks too! Am glad to hear it really does mean tht they are enjoying themselves. He really does love being pampered that one, and has done ever since he was a chick. He is hilarious! Have a great day!
That is awesome! It's great to hear from you again. Good luck with the hatch, and it warms my heart to hear you and your daughters are still loving the videos! How wonderful it will be for your girls to have some little seramas of their own. Have a great day.
lol. The first time I saw chicken diapers I was amazed too, but it turns out there is a whole little chicken diaper industry going on. You can even buy them on Amazon USA these days :-) Some of them are very stylish!
I attempted to make a diaper out of one of those N95 masks, but it wouldn't stay on! 😂🐓🤣 They sell various size chicken diapers on amazon, I was hoping you were going to do a product review.... for now only 1 or 2 in at a time and try to keep them on the hardwood floor (baby gates to keep them from going where the carpet is)🖐😍🐓
Hi John, I am not sure they sell chicken diapers on UK amazon so I had to fashion one myself. Luckily Mr Snuggles is the perfect size for one made out of a small ankle-sock! I have seen a lady who makes beautiful ones on instragram, and even small ones for seramas with an adjustable strap. Sadly she is in the USA or I would have tried to get some - she has a long waiting list of orders! They are such sneaky poopers - he did two before I realised I was goign to have to resort to a diaper! Do you bring yours indoors? (I wasnt sure if it was a tip for me or what you do with your chickens.) Have a great day!
@@r.k.dreamingspetchickens1266 I usually have a guest chicken I let in (usually a broody hen that doesn't need to have babies) or if someone is ill or injured... it happens, or if nothing else they take turns getting to be the "guest chicken" hehehe. So I am interested in those diapers, if U would be gracious enough to provide a link for that lady on instragram i will check it out (i like to support the small entrepreneur) BTW I'm in USA
@@autojohn-pu1vf That's great. Check out @fluffy_butt_chicken_diapers on instragram. But if you search for chicken diapers I think a few will come up if you want to see other options too. Hope they work out great for your chickens. It might mean your guest chickens get to have a whole lot more fun and carefree snuggle time in the house! (Mind the houseplants!)

I'd like to say that when they hatch, get rid of that tray immediately as last year I used one but all but 1 chicks where on it and that one couldn't reach mum so it froze over night. I also have a broody rn as well hatching 7 eggs lol. At this rate I have 9 chicks rn and 13 more incubating so if you want a peckin or sebright. They're on offer still. Gotta git rid of alot.
Great advice, and this is exactly what I was thinking too. So sorry to hear about your poor little chick, and so glad the rest were okay. Wow - you are going to have so many chicks on your hands! If only I had more space I would have loved to have a few different small breeds. Good luck finding homes for them! Have a great day.
@@r.k.dreamingspetchickens1266 thank you. My dad has some friend who's interest so I could prob get 6 hens off and maby a rooster. The hardest thing is the roosters. Might have to put them in the pot as we can't have that many as like half would be boys. Well some of them might be infertile or have deformities so they'll prob go in the pot anyways.
This time the snow did not settle. Last time it settled, I tried letting them out in it for a short time but they were totally confused. Just stood and stared! Lulu however did eat the snow off my boots when I came into their enclosure. Your rooster Tofeefee soudsn hilarious. And a good boy being mad about all that invading snow in his territory!
Hi Rosa, thank you for the tip! I have a separator in the other spot, but this would have been a great idea otherwise. They really do like their privacy, these hens! Have a great day
Did u cut off mr roaster's wing? Doesnt it make pblm for him to fly? Thanks for this new vdo.Advance Good luck for 1k subscribers.God bless and stay safe u nd ur sweet chickens ❤
Hi Monika, yes Mr Snuggles had to have his wings clipped after he flew over a fence and nearly got lost, and gave me a big scare that day! I had to clip them to keep him safe. They were so beautiful and I didnt want to, but it would be worse if he got lost. He was unable to find his way back over the fence because of the shock of being in a strange garden I think. Thanks for wishing me luck. You are so thoughtful. Your comment always make me smile. Have wonderful day! :-)
