To switch from Global axis to Local axis temporarily, you can simply hit the key for the axis twice and do not have to change the orientation in the top menu. So like in the video, when you want to exclude the local Z axis, hit S, then Shift Z Z. Or to scale on the local X axis, hit S X X. In general, double tapping an axis key switches to global axis whenever the transformation orientation is set to something else than Global. If it is on default Global, double tapping the key will switch to Local. Tapping a third time will release the axis locking again as if you used the tool without hitting any axis key.
Great content, helpful, useful and I did not know about the advanced feature (it remind me excel to type a formula in a cel with =) and in fact it is possible to use formula like "(pi*1.65)/(1.25*2)", this is just excellent. Thanks a lot
Meh. I made a blender python script that accepts user input, to do the "scale to measurement", but it only works for circle edge loop selections. I was hoping to make it a bit more universal.
Thanks for watching this video, I hope you liked it.
Let me know in the comments what you think and if you have more tips or tricks on the topic. 😀

That’s another way to get to the same result, you’re right. 👍
I use that action all the time
@@creativecityis Me too, I'm too lazy to switch it in the menu 😁
I never knew about the Blender advanced feature for scale! That is a big help!
An underrated and underappreciated feature with so many use-cases I find.
Excellent, thanks a lot!
Brilliant!!! Thanks
Thank you :)

@@anicapalini Thanks so much. I’m glad you found it useful 😊
One of your 'Quick Favourites' was the 'Bridge' command. Which addon is this from?
That's from the "Loop Tools" addon.
