- Using Glass Joe as an example. You need to do 20 punches and then you can do a counterpunch or late punch and earn your first star. After that then you do 8 punches then do a star potential punch to get another star. There are random stars that you have a chance to get, but you must be holding a star in order to have a chance to get a random star. If a fighter doesn't have the number of punches to get a star listed in his information, then the star is guaranteed for every star potential punch you do. There are other ways to get stars than the ones listed here, I just wanted to show most of them.

Those that say can't win by decision, they have also an amount of points to beat. They are set to 999,990 points to win by decision. Is impossible to reach that score by normal means, that's why they can't be defeated by decision.

I've been playing Punch Out since the 90s and never knew about those free punches u can get on Flamenco, Soda Pop, and Sandman. Learn something new about this game all the time.
On SMM, you can get stars when he pauses for his spin punches(at least 2 without putting yourself in harms way). He'll block, you'll hit, he'll block, you'll hit, etc. That's the pattern.

This player is too good. Here's one you may have overlooked. It's very easy to get stars on SMM when he goes into either spin punch: 1. Hit him to the head, 2. He'll block the next attempt, and 3. Hit him to the head again. This is the pattern. You'll always be able to get 2 star punches safely. 3 of them is risky, because his spin punches are upcoming and you must be ready for them. Shuet, you can even prevent SMM from doing his spin punches altogether if you wanted(but, why do that, when you get easy stars). I've done it before, but I haven't done it in a long time...

It's the next group of fighters, typically there are 3 or 4 in each circuit.
Another World Circuit. It has King Hippo and Great Tiger in addition to all the regular world circuit fighters. If you lose once then you lose, no rematches.

On my channel I have a highscore tutorial playlist. In there I have more up to date information including some flow charts that better describe the patterns
@@Papamanual Yeah, your channel is great. Tons of in depth information. I'll make sure to tell everyone who is interested in this game to go there. Do you know of any punches that change in damage dealt to Mac, other than Tyson depending on the round and King Hippo's one knockdown punch?
@@philive1681 Blocking uppercuts, Hippo's open mouth punch or the single spin punch from Super Macho Man reduce the damage by 8 - thats all i can think of right now.
@@Papamanual Thanks. How did you figure out the HP for each punch and the total HP for little mac? I haven't seen anything that tells the damage done on Super Punch-Out. If it hasn't been done then I'll do it. I just need a good way to start.
