FACTS! I mean they added one cut location in Joes Adventures that you could visit after completing the supermarket mission but it closes back up after completing the next one. No idea why they did this but I went there and it's pretty cool

The cockroach mission is most likely a cockroach racing mini-game during Vito’s prison time, hence “select your racer”, it seems to have been a pretty popular past time for prisoners back in the day that they would place bets on since it’s in a bunch of prison movies

The game is amazing in its current state, it’s the fact that it had so much potential but the publisher rushed it. Amazing video man!!! I can imagine that took plenty of research.

One more fun fact about chapter 1: It was revealed a few months ago by Dan Vávra that the city in Sicily was supposed to be similar to an open world map, but was pretty quickly scratched

@@rolinn777you can play them in any order. A few characters from mafia 2 appear in 3 but that's about it

27:47 Definetly the cut ww2 content. Before the guy who I forgot the name wasn't part of Mafia 2's development anymore. He stated that there was a whole map for Sicily and he also talk to some real veterans to brought this experience to life and went to sicily and started photographing it just to be cut down. That was shocking to me, I wish I could see more of Don Calo in Mafia 2.

@@wildcat6669 Yes, ironically, the closest we would ever got from Mafia in italy is an WW2 videogame named Sniper Elite 4. Also that game showed more about what it was like over there since Mafia lacks a huge part of it. But since is an Sniper Elite special forces game we also get a pretty basic version of the war in that part, and the story is not great either with some bad voice actors. At least is the closest we can get from more of Mafia 2 missing chapters.

Daniel Vávra said in one of his facebook posts that he wrote whole mini campaign, contains 7 missions, where player was supposed to free the village from fascists similar to Hidden and Dangerous. He hates that one mission in the final game, because it not based on his version and its too much boom boom linear like Call of Duty. He wanted to show how important role has Mafia in WW2 in Italy. Later producer Jarek Kolář said that they cut it to only one mission, because they though that players doesnt want need to play war shooter before they get to play mafia shooter.

@@rolinn777 nah it doesn't matter, they're all very separated from each other story wise, Mafia 2 has some connections to Mafia 1 that you'll learn about when you play them both, but if you want advice Mafia 1 is a better game than Mafia 3 and Mafia 1 has a remake that came out in 2020 its called Mafia Definitive Edition, the original from 2002 is pretty old came out after GTA III, so you should probably play the remake because they hired actors and they changed the dialogue and parts of the writing, but if you played all of them and felt like you actually love these games I'd suggest you go back and play the original Mafia 1(2002) as well but if you do you have to watch a youtube video on it to learn which addon's you need to install for it to run flawlessly on a modern pc set up, to run right on Windows 10 or 11.
Mafia 1 and 2 are from the original writer and studio, 3 is from the new american studio that's working on Mafia IV, its not as good but its still good enough to play once at least.

I didn’t know that Mafia 3 had different writers than 1 and 2 though so that’s cool I learned something new from you!! I wanted to play Mafia 3 next and then save the best for last which would be Mafia 1 the remake. I say it’s the best due to the graphics enhancements and I assume it has smoother gameplay as it came out in 2020. I have a PS5 not a PC, can I still play Mafia 1 and 3 on my console or no?
@@rolinn777 your welcome, yeah the old mafia studio were from Czech and they went on to make their own studio away from Take Two, they made this game that came out in 2018 called Kingdom Come: Deliverance, its a highly rated open world medieval game, and the new mafia studio is not bad, they're good but the original one was good enough to compete with Rockstar(GTA), when the first mafia came out it was as good as GTA which was surprising considering GTA was the king of this genre
but yeah to your questions I told you about Mafia 1 remake being better than Mafia 3 so if you wanted to save the best for last you know what to do, Mafia remake is made in the same game engine as Mafia 3 but its improved and just feels better, the driving is great but the shooting/gunplay is not really bad but its not as good as Mafia 2 in my opinion, I really loved the gunplay in Mafia 2, but story-wise I think Mafia 1 is better than both 2 and 3, Mafia 2's story ends too quickly because the executives forced the game out and that's why the original studio quit, they had a lot more content and features planned out but Take Two(the publisher)forced them to release the game
and yeah like you said Remake has smoother gameplay and graphics compared to 3, exactly
and yeah of course you can play on console, even the original 2002 version had a PS2 version but I donno how it works on PS5 with the backwards compatibility

Indeed I want to save the best for last so I will save Mafia 1 for last and I’ll start Mafia 3 this week.
Yeah I felt like Mafia 2 was a little rushed and that’s what I’ve been hearing not just from you but from TH-cam channels saying that the game was rushed because it had to be out before it was done.
The way PS2 and PS3 games can be played on PS5 now is through a PlayStation Plus Premium purchase. I don’t really have any games from those 2 consoles that I want to play except I guess the old Spider-Man but actually the only game that I really do want to play that released on PS3 and XBOX 360 but not on PS4 and Xbox One is Batman Arkham Origins. Idk if you’re into the Batman games but if you are then you know Origins is like the black sheep of the Batman games since it was made by a different studio than Asylum, City, and Knight but man it is my absolute favorite of the Batman games. I miss it so much but the only way to play it is through that damm subscription. Maybe next year I’ll get a free trial and then cancel it before or idk we’ll see.

I just hate that I’m not going to be able to play Mafia 3 start to finish in 3 days like I did Mafia 2 cause I got school work as in final exams😭 but whatever I’ll make it. There's a mod coming out in 2023 it was supposed to be this year summer but it got delayed but unfortunately it's only gonna be in russian dub

Strange that they did not mention Eddie Scrapa in any deleted content ... the cover in mafia 2 all the four guys Vito Joe Henry and Eddie, gave the impression that Eddie Scrapa is a friend, but in the end he's kind of a traitor that called vito to come to falcone even though it is unknown what happened to him

Damn, in the artwork menu in the final game I always wondered who was Carlos Lopez, I thought it was Derek false name but turns out it was a cut character, what a shame.
Its so sad to see that the open world section is so empty and dead, it would've been so fun to do side missions and stuff, its a crying shame that it was cut, and worst of it, 2K buying Mafia 2 IP was inevatable, they needed the fund and talented people but then they rushed everything and fuck it up.
Imagine if this game was launched at 2012 what masterpiece could've been, it could even rival with Sleeping Dogs and Gta 5
I Also saw a Cut Weapon and it was the M14 it would be awesome to see the M14 in the game but the M14 was issued around 1954 for the US Army and the Other Branches but the game cut the weapon and it can be used through editing the game files so it can be used

14:00 I think this was meant to be possibility to play race game with cockroaches. In prisons it was freetime activity. You bet on one of them. An here for example there would have been 3 of them from different places of the prison.

Mafia 2 IS THE BEST GAME even as it is. All the extra stuff is not necessary. The story is so perfect. Such a great game. My favourite game of all time hands down.

idk if its my memory playing tricks on me but i swear in beta & demo presentations of the game after Sidney shoots Henry he start apologizing but in the final version they changed it to him whimpering. The only evidence i have for this is the line joes says when it happens "the fuck youre sorry you..." but i always remember that about one of the demos

Mafia 2 is decent with a few novel ideas,
but it hasn't kept me coming back quite like my favorite; Mafia 1
and you've shown it could've been so much more!

Despite the cut content, I still think the gameplay of M2 is the best in the series. I like how even tho it's a linear story there is plenty of opportunities to roam around and rob stores etc. M1 DE should have had the same openness

Mafia 2 was a great game but not having these things removed would've made it that much better. The original Mafia game was a masterpiece in itself, specifically for its time, and I believe if Illusion would've had full control to the end that Mafia 2 would've ended up just as great as the original Mafia. It's too bad they have to rush stuff like this rather than making a great product.
The DLCs definitely were dumbed down and I just hated the way they played. There was very little interaction with other NPCs but rather just text on a loading screen for the most part. I also didn't care for the timer either, that just took the fun out of it. The only plus about Joe's Adventures is if you don't feel like playing the missions, is an official open world freeride where you can play as Joe if you felt like it.
I would've loved to have had multiple endings. Mafia 3 obviously did this although it didn't affect the outcome that much but it was a step in the right direction.
And I also preferred the engine Mafia 2 ran on vs Mafia 3 and DE. Mafia 2's engine made it feel slightly more realistic where the latter felt more cinematic and not really as realistic.

@@rolinn777 Well, first and foremost. Did you enjoy Mafia 2? Quite honestly, since you started with Mafia 2, I'd move to Mafia 3 next simply because it's more of a continuation of Mafia 2 in an off sort of way. Then you can go back and play the original Mafia/Mafia Definitive Edition. I'd play both of those honestly because even though the Definitive Edition remake is good and whatnot, the original OG Mafia has that classic charm that's hard to pass by. But don't let Mafia 3 get you down. Some say it's a bit repetitive and since it's not exactly as linear as the other games, it's still a lot of fun. It has a good story behind it. I don't want to spoil it for you, so I won't really say much else. But shortly into the game, you'll see why I say it's a bit of a continuation of Mafia 2. However, I think you'd be more confused going to the original Mafia next and then playing Mafia 3. You already know how the protagonist Tommy dies from Mafia since it was touched in Mafia 2, but that's the only link between those two games. Hope this helps! :)

In chapter 6 while in jail. The cockroaches was probably some kind of mini game as in jail in real life prisoners bet on cockroaches for fun and money.

It would of been so easy for them to have made this a gta 4 clone but id say it rivals it everyway accept for physics (except for the cloth physics that shockingly gta 4 had hardly any of)
All this should have been in Mafia II: Definitive Edition.

I think the developers should also be the publishers. Cause Publishers always mess the game up with their garbage schedule and they only care about the money and not the quality of the game. When the developer team becomes the publisher as well, they have more time and freedom to make a game.
Ohh how much i long for a proper gangster open world game, currently there nothing like that with few games only being close to that

I was really surprised on HOW much was cut as opposed to 1 thing standing out in particular. But I still don’t hate this game. I grew up with it & for me, it’s a gem even with it’s cut content disaster.
I think originally there was a choice for Vito to not be defensive about his dad. Because of how he had so much debt and drank all the time… idk it never made sense how in a few cut scenes and car conversations he would be against his father and In other ones he would respect his father.
Id like to see one for Mafia 3.

Some of these side missions feel like a gta game more than a mafia game. I feel it might have taken away from character of veto. Although it might have added more weight and it would have been nice to see.

The only part of Mafia II i'm glad was cut down were the extended WW2 missions. It's a Mafia game. I want to do Mafia stuff, not Call of Duty/Medal of Honor missions. The remaining mission in the game served it's purpose in letting us know why Vito is so good with weapons and combat.
One cut area of the game I'd like to know, if you can find it, is how large was the map originally supposed to be? There's a huge section at the edge of the map on the east side that's largely unfinished but with solid ground. It's accessible if you drive your car really fast and propel yourself just right off some trash cans near the Greasers headquarters (the guys that burn the cigarette truck). The unfinished portion is solid almost until the hills and mountains. Were those mountains going to be accessible as well similar to GTA 5? Mountains also surround most of the land in the game. If you walk or drive north across the unfinished part of the map it eventually leads to the Hillwood part of the map, also unfinished.
Joe's Adventures DLC extends the map.
Yep! As does Jimmy's Revenge with Vinci's mansion for one mission. Strangely it remains an empty void for the rest of the DLC.
But this part of the map I'm talking about is huge it goes way off the edge of the map and continues on for some time eastward before the ground isn't solid and becomes a void. Just wondered if you knew what the devs were planning for it before it was abandoned.
It's a shame. I assume that they have even recorded dub's for those missions...
It disgusts me that the only people that even want to rush the development of games are the distributors. If you could go back in time and run a survey like “would you rather have a watered down less-than-itself version of this long awaited sequel, or would you rather us take the time to put the love and care into this game so you’re playing the best product possible when you finally do,” I’d bet 100% of people would’ve begged them to sit on the game for another year or longer and do everything that needs done
@YeahWeLitT.V. With El Gato Cortez unfinished content can’t possibly be good for business. Just a lot of wasted time and effort in an industry that’s already too brutal on its employees
Imagine how demoralizing it would be to see months of coding or animating totally scrapped. Sure, it happens all the time and people have likely been dealing with that since gaming began, but that’s still a lot of hard work put in for absolutely nothing. Essentially wasted hours paying people to do something that gets scrapped anyway

They should have used the remaster opportunity to make the game the way they wanted to in the beginning.

4K really cares about their players, unlike rockstar games, im very happy that I left gta and moved to mafia, fun game.
I do feel that cutting out options to kill Leo and Frank were good ideas. As Vito is still an apprentice of the criminal world by the end of the game it may have been unrealistic to have him kill three crime bosses
I thought you had a choice I think u would have to kill Frank Vinci if u killed Leo earlier in the game

I want to buy the Mafia DE budle with all 3 games for the Series S. How bad is Mafia 2? Should I buy them seperatly and get the 360 version? Do I get the 360 version if I buy DE?

Mafia 2 is one of the most special best games for me. This game has changed my life. I started playing this game about 9,10 years ago and it's been the best for me since then.(mafia 1 is also a good game for me mafia 3 is an absolutely awful game.)
