I kinda like how Sam in the DE had a more emotional confrontation with Tommy than in the original. It made it feel like an even more painful betrayal.
I guess you're right, it was more emotional indeed, but in the original it was more like Sam wanted to "laugh" at Tommy and insult him in some ways, just like he did by mentioning the fact that now he's outcast, that Paulie died and also he was always sure that Tommy will not forget and forgive his death, that Frank is dead too, also the important thing is "friendship" - I really like this serious ending more when any other Mafia game in series, but it's really subjective
yeah in the old one it was as if he just pure evil but in DE version we could see he had some regret betraying his friend

@@paulielamborghini5787 Both are masterpieces in my opinion, The remake had a more emotional/serious tone and the original had a more evil/insulting tone towards Tommy, The DE IS how you do a remake in my opinion, It's not a 100% copy of the original word for word which is good since it takes a few liberties and changes dialogue but keeps it still in-line with the original. A pure masterpiece in my opinion.
Sam in general had a deeper character profile in the DE and much more dialogues. In the original he apparently had an aloof manner and ruthless personality and few dialogues. When gathering at Salierie's office it was always Salieri Frank Paulie or Tommy speaking. In the original it felt like Paulie was the only connection between Tom and Sam. You never had a clue about Sams real personality. Thanks to giving him more dialogues Mafia DE felt not only like a remake but more like a new game with a former side character being a deserved main character
I always liked, (and kinda respected too) how Sal just accept his fate. Instead of bagging for his life.

He was pretty old school in that sense, he knew he had led a pretty luxurious life as a mob boss but also knew he had to have a lot of people killed and lives ruined to get to that point. But unlike faking regret he accepted his fate cause as a boss it either ends with you dead in the street or in jail
@@Godfather9814 Speaking on betrayals I would’ve loved to see a cutscene depicting Sal and his brothers slaughtering Giuseppe Carillo or Carlo Falcone whacking his own boss Moretti

Carlo Falcone was so interesting and cunning, wish they done more with him.
In the original script he was gonna frame Henry as a rat to eliminate any drug competition and be the drug kingpin of Empire Bay, that is why Vito in the final game took his kill so personally saying "I'm doing this for me"
Wow, I didn't know that. It would've made the ending that much better as I was pretty confused on why Vito said that even though they barely even interacted in the game.

Marcano and Sam (DE) are easily the best of all of these. Marcano realizing he's been beat, and just accepting his fate. And Sam's has so much emotion to it, of course he'll bargain for his life, he had a lot to lose, but their talk at the beginning just sets it apart for me. You can tell he really means it when he talks about having to choose between his friends and the family.
I like how Tom didn’t let Sam to fully express the time where they we’re having a fun 😂

I think the death of Sal Marcano is one of the most interesting deaths in the Mafia trilogy.

Mafia 3 for me has the best ending out the 3 that emotion and conversation between Sal can Lincoln was a Oscar winning moment when I saw Sal accept his fate and not fight back and them both explaining there nightmares it was just so well done.

While I particularly don't like Mafia III all that much, I will admit that Sal Marcano is easily the best antagonist of the series. Jay Acovone is the best actor in the series and his performance is so damn realistic and he kills it in every cutscene. But best of all, while he may seem like a generic, evil & racist mob boss, he actually does feel like a human being compared to someone like Clemente and Falcone.
It's just unfortunate to see the 2K Games and Take-Two Interactive being the slimey fucks that they are, Mafia II & III should have been masterpieces, but both games got sabotaged either by complications during development or sabotaged by the publishers.

I agree marcano was a really interesting rival and at some points I wished I was actually a member rising up the ranks of the marcano family instead! But I think probably his one and only redeeming feature was despite all the terrible things he’s done at the end of it all he did his best to try and avoid his son Giorgi making the same choices he did and wanted to avoid his son dying in the streets
I think Mafia III really ain’t that bad, but it feels more like a Far Cry game (especially after I started to play Mafia III in 2020, 2 years after Far Cry 5 was released) I saw the similarities. Kill under bosses to confront the main leader.

Sam wasn't a real antagonist,he just did what he had to,because he don't have much choice,sure, OG Sam was more like he don't care about Tom and Paulie,but Sam Trapani in remake was like a brother to them,but they fucked it up and he had no choice,if he don't want get killed by Salieri.
Sam was the final boss but I agree he wasn't evil, tommy was the one who broke the omerta.
@@MafiaGameVideos I don’t think Tommy broke the Omerta at that point when he meets Sam at the museum. As far as I understand, Omerta, or the Code of Silence, will be broken if a made guy, capo, consigliere, and maybe even underboss and boss ever talked about the Mob life in public, especially to the law enforcement. So Tommy broke the Omerta the moment he start talking about the Mob life to detective Norman at the very 1st cutscene of the game.

WOW The fight between Sal and Lincoln was so intense! But in all seriousness though, it was my favourite final confrontation from all the games I have played. It shows that perhaps Lincoln is no different from Sal.
Sam in original: don’t make him suffer, he’s my buddy, in the most sarcastic and disingenuous tone he could muster up
Sam in Definitive Edition: actual sorrow and sadness at having to have Tommy killed
I really love the cutscene which Sal and Lincoln talk and Sal accepts his fate. Mafia III have a good story, but unfortunately the repetitive gameplay and excessives bugs overshadowed him

@@markedmanmist Mafia 1 2002 really doesn't hold up at all. The gameplay and gunplay is one of the worst in gaming history and it was already outdated in 2002. The racing mission is elect by many gamers as the worst mission in gaming history. There's tons of tales of people losing minds and destroying the keyboard cos of that terrible mission... (Body Harvest in the N64 had better smooth gameplay) And the voice acting is just comedic gold of how bad it is. Everyone was cold without emotion.. Everyone acted like Anton Chigurh with 0 emotions and we have bad dumb dialogue "That's one hot dame" lol cringe overload and gets worse with Tom screaming "Where's the dough?!?!? The dough!?!?" The whole thing was so bad and dumb that it's inadvertently a template for parodies. The characters and storyline is very good but everything else age like Milk. The remake made everything better, smooth and more enjoyable. And Andrew Bongiorno's performance as Tommy is so damn good.
Sam was an interesting antagonist. He felt like a GTA antagonist classic scenario, and either way, come to think of it, Sam may have been Rockstar's inspiration. I like how Sam was less cold-hearted in the DE, just a hypocrite and a coward, but he had genuine remorse for killing Paulie and betraying Tommy. In the original's ending, he shows a bit of remorse, and I think Frank's betrayal made him think that there is no friendship in the Mafia, considering that Ennio's success was shared with Frank and they had a huge history. I kind of wonder why Carlo's original idea wasn't used. According to in-game events and comments here, Carlo actually sent goons to sabtoage the deal, and if he really framed Henry to spark a war, this shows just how power mad Falcone really was. If Carlo framed Henry, he's actually a fool rather than a stratigest. By having Vito and Joe's friend killed, he robbed himself of his must valuable assets. Despite how he had his own boss killed, I doubt Carlo set up Henry, because the FBI were indeed gunning for the Falcone Family, and didn't seem to target the Tongs or the Vincis. Because think about it, if Henry wasn't a rat, and Vito didn't fuck up so badly, Carlo could have forgave him and had him and Joe help him take over the city. Carlo was a cool antagonist, just wish he'd be more fleshed out. But Sal Marcano is indeed the best antagonist, despite Mafia III's reputation. Sal is one of the mobsters in the series that has humanity and isn't a complete monster, like Morello, Salieri, Barbieri, and more.
Say what you will about 3, but you gotta admit Lincoln’s reunion with Sal was a GREAT scene

I was underwhelmed with mafia 3. Was hoping the final showdown at the casino would involve all three gangs. With Vito. Cassandra. And Burke. Making an appearance in a unique way.

Mafia 1 is the best game that I played through many years. And Mafia 2 too. They both are classic games of our childhood. Mafia Remake is so interesting to play tho. Same story but with HD graphics. I wish the developers would add some DLC's to it, like Joe's Adventures or Jimmy's Vendetta etc.
For the main protagonist, Thomas Angelo is and will be my favourite Protagonist forever !

@@ittskabeer7285 Joe's Adventures wasn't THAT bad. Maybe not great but the missions were far more entertaining than the Jimmy DLCs. I don't think the DLCs would have been that bad if the missions had cutscenes and didn't have those stupid Arcade elements.

Mafia:DE seems the same but actually has different accents. Manner and bolding of the main character in DE speaks a lot. And final speech about family in DE, where opposite in Original there was Tom's thought about measure in everything. I like Mafia: Original for her gamescript, it's really masterpiece 2000 years. No one game can't replace it in my heart.

Mafia 3 had a great story and definitely one of the best antagonists in the series, but even to today it has many bugs and issues that should’ve been fixed ages ago 🤦🏻♂️ it’s a shame how mafia 3 technical wise is a rushed kind of mess. Even in 2022 the weed farm has error strains that bug out, npcs randomly jump out of cars in the middle of the street, after doing damage to a racket and you go back to the contact to go deal with the racket boss there’s a 50/50 chance it’ll bug out and you won’t be able to start the mission, cars will randomly not make engine noises anymore so if you turn the radio off it’s like you’re driving an electric car. And idk if it’s a bug or just laziness that even if you wear anything but Lincoln’s default outfit he’ll still show up in cutscenes wearing it like he got changed before talking to people
Do you have an unpatched version because mine the Xbox one version has most of the bugs fixed except for a small number of them like broken lyp sync on the final cutscene where vito tells you what happened to joe

@@Jankovic21412 nah I still have the engine sounds cut out, weed strains still show error on the name so I have to delete them and start all over and when I go to talk to a contact later on after I destroyed a rackets earn I’ll hold x to talk to them but nothing will happen. And mind you this is on a series x
Some cutscenes are not in engine, thats why lincoln wears his normal clothes in those, there aint much they could do

I love all the Mafia games f*cking bangers the best one for me is Mafia 3. The story was amazing, shoot I remember going into gamestop to pick up my pre-order of this game sure the gameplay isn't good but the story 10/10 will always live in my heart forever.

Game has a great story and a satisfying combat system, but the amount of bugs, repetitive missions and poor optimization (plus the cut open world details that it had in the other games) made the game not very well acclaimed

mafia 3 was so great in everything but the repetitive gameplay it would be one thing if it was story related but the rense and repeat of gang control felt so repetitive and made the game so boring a shame to because the story was just so good a masterpeice even one could say thank god they didnt carry that over for mafia 1 Definitive edition ironically I own 2 but have yet to play it I hear gameplay wise its the best out of all of them but just never got to sit down and play it things been collecting dust on my shelf for years lol yes I know its odd to go 1 and skip 2 and go right to 3 but thats how it worked for me somehow I just never touched 2 over the years and forgot it was there 🤷

Dialogues in definitive edition are terrible so naive so unsuitable fo characters
At the original version 2002 we see amazing scripts such as "I can guess the honor out of the pictures" or sam logic about salieries scence of humor,Its completely lost in new remake.
