In this video I talk about whether someone is too old to go back to school or change careers.
as someone who is over thirty it can seem quite daunting to all of a sudden to stop what you are accustomed to doing and abruptly change careers.
There are certain things that you are too old to do after 30. You are too old to start boxing, you are too old to follow your friends' children on social media. You are too old to where Football jerseys outside of a stadium. But you are not too old to change careers or go back to school. You just need to focus on your why. Why are you doing this??

I'm 33 with two businesses and you helped to inspire me to pursue WGU for Cybersecurity and Information Assurance! Started in August and I'm about to be done with 3 classes! ITIL 4 cert this week (you're video about not passing it made me study more 😂).
I already had a Master's degree in another industry, so it's making everything go by faster. I also have 3 kids under 6, a teenager and daily responsibilities. I say all that to say don't let age stop you from accomplishing your dreams! If God blessed you to see another day then it's not too late!

Yes as you said there are something which I am too old for like in my fifties to join the army, be a black belt karate etc....
But you are right to point out that it's not too late to change career.....
In fact I'm looking to start doing some study with exam Certifications to enable me to become a certified cloud engineer....It's a long term project around 12 Months but with motivation, consistency and discipline and the Creator's Help I should be able to make it......

I usually don't comment on videos, but I did need this. I managed to build up the courage last week and scheduled two campus tours for this week. I was still nervous of applying since I failed my first two times, but now I finished watching this and about to apply to those two colleges. Don't know what the future will hold, but it has to be better than not trying and being stuck with my current job. Also, thank you for making me laugh while being helpful with your words.

If you change careers past the age of 40, be aware that most likely you will start at the bottom of the career field again.

I'm old as hell and been going to school for way too long and can't figure out how to finish.
If you are a serious DIY person then you are an Engineer. I'm a Aerospace Engineer but I started doing projects when I was 4-years old. Now I'm a senior citizen. I'm still doing projects. Some are out of this world. Just start doing projects & automatically you will keep learning more.
Community colleges now have courses here in Michigan where agreements exist between them & world famous Universities and also the Engineering departments. Those State agreements qualify full credit transfers of the first 2-years of complete Engineering degrees. There are programs starting in High School that lead to Masters & PhDs that will take old credit towards completing those advanced degrees. Industry & medical applications all want technically trained and experienced without degrees. World is changing.

I'm in the trucking industry myself and want to get more educated as well. HBCU is the route I'm going. I will be 34 in February, single with no kids. It's going to be difficult, buy I can do it. Also fasting all of 2023 to get down to my peak fighting weight.

I was 45 when I finished my BS at WGU. 20 years prior I got a AS degree. Took lots of classes in between. Most of those aged out of being able to transfer so it felt like I owned a rotting education stack. Well, WGU allowed me to reclaim ground. I had to take many of the intro courses again but was able to progress through them and efficiently focus on my gap towards a degree. I would 100% not have attended anything that required total repeats of courses I took 15 years ago. NFW..
Too old? As you age, you realize that there are only 2 times. Now and not now. Stop being in the maybe club and join the do something club.
That said, school is not a silver bullet. It can be part of a strategy but is not going to magically change you. Going and succeeded are a reflection of your character and interests. Do what interests you and be happy no matter your education, financial status, or expectation from others.

Actually boxing as no age limit if you’re just doing it for self defense or getting in shape .
I'm about to turn 29...I dropped out of college my first year and lost my Financial aid, so I have to pay out of my pocket to get it back but you know I think what I'll do is quit my dumb WFH job that pays nothing by fall of 2023 after saving up and go back for the fall semester. I know 100% my WFH job won't last forever and it's back to searching for months for a new job only to get low pay again. It just feels like I don't know what the heck I was doing in my early 20s.
A lot of us have regrets in our 20’s. Along as you pick it up before 40 you can get back on track.
