I've run a small vanilla rust server for a few years, I barely play, but when I do I like to play on my server. I use RustAdmin, which is great, but the free version is barely better than what my server host offers. I want the online version because of the data it saves and its other features, I don't want to have to keep my PC on 24-7 with the free version to get the same data, but the online version cost the same as what my server costs! I pay about 150$ a year to host a server, and it would cost about the same to have RustAdmin online, is there a better option to be able to access data without having to pay for RustAdmin online, or keeping my PC on with the standard version? Or, is there a good way to monetize a vanilla server to just cover server and RustAdmin costs? Thanks for all you do srtbull, you've helped me in many ways.
I got a bloke who was playing on my server and took off and made his own, he asked me so many questions about help and never listened to anything I said and got upset if my answer was not what he wanted. I told him so many times to download rust admin but he still just uses the F1 in game and told me there is no need for Rust admin lol. Well he didn’t like one company as it had limited options so he pre paid another server for 6 months and still won’t use rust admin. Some people lol.
I followed along all the steps but it doesn't seem to be working. Whenever I click connect, it says "Connecting" for like 30 seconds and then switches to "Disconnected". How do I go about fixing this issue?

Unfortunately it doesn't work for me. I get the error "The application was unable to start correctly". I also tried My Rust Server and paid for it. It seems very buggy, I got it to work exactly once, and the rest of the time it hasn't been able to run the server properly. It would be great of Facepunch would just give us a UI for managing, updating, and using plugins!
While I do somewhat agree with what you're saying, I don't think FP loves the fact that we're modding their game. I don't know that for sure, but that would be my assumption. So they probably won't create a method in which it would make life easier for us.

Isn't your API key the same thing as your steam 64 ID? If so then you can just go to the actual steam site in a browser and click on your profile and it'll show at the end of the web address.
@@srtbull well when the skin box mod asked me for my api key in the config then I simply added my steam 64 ID and it works fine. Idk how that's helpful but it's apparently a thing. Try it out. Lol

please help - i noticed some server have !pop command and show population, i only found playerlist plugin, but it show online admin as well and probably names, and i cant get rid of it, i only want simple command like !pop and server respond- there is curerntly x/y players online. (no names, nothing, just number) i found this you can put to rust admin, but its there only until server restart.. i want it forever.. how? Execute only if the chat text is !pop Command(s) to be executed say There are ${playerCount} players online at the moment.
Having an issue with setting up the web version. I am running a localhost setup however when I type in my IPV4 I continually get the error Invalid IP. The server must be a public IPV4IP? Any insight into this would be greatly appreciated.

Hey man, currently on my server, players can build on top of players bases once the cupboard is gone but I want them to have to use ladders or just raid the base properly. Is there a way to prevent players from building on other players foundations/walls?
So if tool cabinet is removed then everybody has right to build fam, thats just how Rust works, you would need a plugin for that even if that plugin existed it makes no sense xD

Hello! I have a question! I just want to know if its possible to port ford ward with an ethernet cable. The thing is a have like 2 routers. I have 1 that produces the wifi and the other one is an extension. Rn my pc is connected to the main router via ethernet cable. Is it possible to port forward the rust server with the cable and be able to play w my friends? Even tho im not port forwarding the branch??
It want me to put my Domain name to get my API key, they want a website domain name? hope not because i don't have one lol. if anyone can help that would be awesome, i would love to register to pass that info on so i can do my part as a server owner to keep them nasty cheat away..

if you are at home using a network server, put the computer ip address in and not your outside ip.
Correct. Only people outside of your network will use your public ip address.
Been using the paid version for awhile .. Love it .. Will login to the web version at work if something comes up

You can’t win them all. All you can do is try.

There many things to check.
Webrcon true?
Confirm IP address.
Server port
Rcon port
Rcon password.

I been using Battlemetrics RCON and it’s been pretty amazing but I’m just on a trial right now so I’ll give rustadmin a try

All the information you need is in this video. Unless your provider doesn’t allow for rcon connections. Which is rare but not impossible.

Do you have the cvar +web.rcon 1?

Thats a big negative. Steam64id is not the same as your steam api key.
