During the 1700s, the term "Filipino" refers to White Spanish persons who settled in the Philippines or those born in the Philippines with White Spanish parents. Persons of native and mixed descent are not called Filipinos, but Indios and Mestizos, respectively.
@ I know. I'm just making a point that in today's context, the term "Filipino" means native-born, including others who acquired citizenship and embraced the Philippines as their home country. Whereas in the 1700s "Filipino" means a white Spaniard living in the colonized areas of the Philippines. Therefore, at best, one of the founders of Los Angeles may probably be a Spaniard from the Philippines.
@ as he explained in the video, Antonio Miranda was not a Spaniard from the Philippines. He was referred to in the records as a Luzon Indio de la Pampanga which means he was a Kapampangan. Otherwise, as you pointed out, he would've been recorded as "Filipino" if he was a Spaniard but no he was recroded as from Manila and a Luzones (Kapampangan).

Please don't argue without reference. Prominent Filipino historians whether left-leaning or not continue to be recognized and their books used as school references until the early 90s. Please read about Teodoro Agoncillo, Renato Constantino, Gregorio Zaide. If you get a hand on their books, you can compare and cross reference. And see IF the recent books from late 90s changed or not the narratives. I was able to see the works of these 3 great authors. Our historians like Datu Kirby cross references from external sources too.
was the spanish caste system made to purposely segregate the colonized natives, or were they actually just made for classification and identification? the spaniards for their times were very diligent writers/documenters, and that is why we have records and documentations of all their exploits against the colonized natives too.
our historian in the phil was commissioned by the american colonizers to write the nation's history ironically only the events dictated by the same should be written in the book to the detrimental of filipinos !😂😂😂😂
I've read about the history of Los Angeles many times in the past and there was never any mention of a Filipino or Manila connection in its founding as it was once part of Mexico as Alta California and was developed by Spanish missionaries led by Father Junipero Serra.
Actually america is discover by Filipino because Christopher Columbus is half Filipino, his mom is from Olongapo, Olongapo used to have the largest u.s military outside the u.s😅😅😅
Actually there were 11 settler families or pobladores of LA. There was supposed to be a 12th family (a man from Manila and his daughter) but they got ill on the way to LA. You’d know this, even if you only watch the first 5mins of the video. This video is about what happened to them. This was also in 1781 when LA was founded. People from the Philippines have been arriving in California since 1587 so no, distance or the Philippines being “too far” was definitely not a hindrance. You’d also know this if you just took your time to watch and understand the video 😉
Filipino discover America because Christopher Columbus is half Filipino, president elect Donald Trump is also half Filipino, everyone is half Filipino 😅😅😅😅

What's wrong with highlighting Pampanga if the official records show that the early Luzones were from Pampanga? It’s like saying that talking about Visayan leaders is too Visayas-centric. If they were from the Visayas, then it makes sense to highlight that. In the same way, the Luzones were Kapampangan, so there’s nothing wrong with mentioning Pampanga. So what exactly is your problem with Pampanga?
@@eatsmylifeYT You clearly did not watch the video beyond the first 30 seconds. There really was a man from Manila who was designated to be among the founder of LA.
@ The guy was a servant or worker. No Spaniard would let an Indio or Chino be the founder of anything, let alone a major pueblo. Just what is it with "us" that we have to validate ourselves by involving us in everything? Stop riding on "achievements" by "Filipinos" who lived so long in the past. Achieve something on your own. Jeez.
mas naniniwala pa aq dito The first Filipino settlers in the United States were sailors who escaped from Spanish galleons and settled in Louisiana in 1763. These settlers were called "Manilamen" after the capital of the Philippines..
A conspiracy is when people create elaborate theories to explain events, often without solid evidence. I've personally visited Santa Barbara and seen the grave myself. There's no conspiracy there, just history
What's wrong with highlighting Pampanga if the official records show that the early Luzones were from Pampanga? It's like saying that talking about Filipino American Manong farmworkers is too Ilocos-centric. Most of the manongs were Ilocano, so there's nothing wrong with mentioning they’re from Ilocos. In the same way, the Luzones were Kapampangan, so there’s definitely nothing wrong with mentioning Pampanga-just like Lapulapu is always described as Visayan because he’s from the Visayas. So what exactly is your problem with Pampanga?

Please don't argue without reference. Prominent Filipino historians whether left-leaning or not continue to be recognized and their books used as school references until the early 90s.
Please read about Teodoro Agoncillo, Renato Constantino, Gregorio Zaide. If you get a hand on their books, you can compare and cross reference. And see IF the recent books from late 90s changed or not the narratives.
I was able to see the works of these 3 great authors.
Our historians like Datu Kirby cross references from external sources too.
Elementary student s should start studyi ng Phil history until college
This should be taught in school

That’s awesome! The Church of the Queen of Angels is a beautiful place with a rich history. You must have some great stories from your visit!
Wow
was the spanish caste system made to purposely segregate the colonized natives, or were they actually just made for classification and identification?
the spaniards for their times were very diligent writers/documenters, and that is why we have records and documentations of all their exploits against the colonized natives too.

our historian in the phil was commissioned by the american colonizers to write the nation's history ironically only the events dictated by the same should be written in the book to the detrimental of filipinos !😂😂😂😂
The caste system was present before the Spaniards in our pre colonial datu system
The founder of Los Angeles, California was Gov. Felipe de Neve, a Spanish on September 4, 1781.
Don't believed or deceived by this blogger.
Did you even watch the video?
Tell me you didn't understand the video without telling me you didn't understand the video. 😄
I've read about the history of Los Angeles many times in the past and there was never any mention of a Filipino or Manila connection in its founding as it was once part of Mexico as Alta California and was developed by Spanish missionaries led by Father Junipero Serra.
Did you watch beyond the first 30 seconds?

IMPOSSIBLE! CANNOT BE FOUNDED BY A FILIPINO, TOO FAR FROM THE PHILIPPINES. THERE ARE 14 FAMILIES ORIGINAL SETTLERSOF THE AREA.

@ The guy was a servant or worker. No Spaniard would let an Indio or Chino be the founder of anything, let alone a major pueblo.
Just what is it with "us" that we have to validate ourselves by involving us in everything? Stop riding on "achievements" by "Filipinos" who lived so long in the past.
Achieve something on your own. Jeez.

The first Filipino settlers in the United States were sailors who escaped from Spanish galleons and settled in Louisiana in 1763. These settlers were called "Manilamen" after the capital of the Philippines..

A conspiracy is when people create elaborate theories to explain events, often without solid evidence. I've personally visited Santa Barbara and seen the grave myself. There's no conspiracy there, just history
Too Pampanga-centric.
