Hello Hello From Virginia, with your help watching your videos I have successfully canned my first ever 7 pints of beef , Thank you very much for taking your time to help folks like myself .
What a great vid!! I'm going buy some of the powdered heavy cream. I hardly use cream but when I buy it for a recipe the rest goes bad b/c I forget about it. Should just freeze the remainder in ice cube trays and store in the freezer! LOL!
That heavy cream powder, interesting, have seen it before but watching you use it and turn into sour cream, that I didn't know. I love that company Hoosier Hill, everything I get from them is excellent.
I have pan envy. That Cuisinart pot is beautiful! I bought the powdered extra tangy sour cream, and I am so disappointed I won’t ever use it again. This version I would try. Thanks!
Hey Leisa, that looks good! I made mine with cream of mushroom soup and a can of mushrooms because that's what I had at the time and it was good. A couple of weeks ago, I made something similar with ugly pork. I caramelized onions, use broth and a Tbsp of flour to make gravy. Then added garlic and the pork. Served it over mashed potatoes and it was so good that hubby said that was a keeper. Lol
Leisa: I would enjoy seeing videos on how to use my canned beef chunks. This was a nice inspiration but all I can think about is beef soup, stew, hot beef sandwich, beef pot pie and just eating them with veggies and potatoes. If you have more ideas let me know!
Hi Paige, if I may, I made Carne guisada tacos with my canned cubed beef. I also shredded them up a and poured bbq sauce on it to make chopped bbq sandwiches. I also made "pepper steak" with it. I drained the broth and set aside. Sautéed onions and peppers. Set them aside. Put 1 Tbsp of oil in my pan to brown the beef a little, add the veggies back in and make a sauce out of the broth. Add some soy sauce to the broth and add it to your pepper steak. Thicken it with corn starch or flour slurry, if you want. Serve over rice. Hope this helps!
This is one of my husband’s favorite meals. I had no idea you could buy dried sour cream and dried Worcestershire. How convenient is that! I’m going to see where I can get some of those items. 💕.
If you avoid starches, you can use frenched green beans (or regular cut green beans if that's what you have) for the noodles. I've made this with ground beef, as well. This looks yummy!
That's it! I'm drooling!!! My mind is completely blown about making the sour cream from the heavy cream powder (I have some in the pantry). My late husband would call Worcestershire sauce "What's its here" sauce. Lol
Delicious! I have used mushroom powder in place of the sliced because my guy doesn’t like mushrooms. I am sneaky. I am very interested in the “what’s-it’s” powder. Love your content. Thank you.
I am allergic to beef - so for anyone like me, I believe you can make this with mushrooms in place of the beef and chicken or vegetable broth. I also use coconut cream (comes in cans) or you can make it with coconut.
I have several Hoosier Hill Farm products. Love them. I canned beef cubes after watching your canning chuck roast video. Watched your video yesterday on using making chicken salad from a jar of chicken legs. I made a chicken pot pie last night from the canned chicken. The minute the top popped off I wanted to eat the chicken from the jar. Oh My Goodness! Smelled divine.
I love it!! I love stroganoff and I have thought about making it with shelf stable and dried foods for camping and meals in a jar. Your recipe looks so good! Thanks!
@@crazydee1955I don't have a recipe yet. I am just working up ways to make just add water meals and haven't completed any yet. I plan on taking a good recipe and seeing what I have in either freeze dried, dried or dry foods and plugging them into the recipe but I need to figure out how much water is needed. I am blessed with a freeze dryer so I can take an already made meal and freeze dry it and package the meals that way too.
I’ve been trying to buy the Hoosier Hill Farms Powdered Worcestershire but it’s been out of stock for awhile. I hope it comes back soon. I do have their heavy cream powder and never realized I could make sour cream from it. Obviously I’m not paying attention but thank you for the info.
I would have to use mushroom powder or finally chopped and mushrooms. 4 out of six of us don't like much mushrooms and one swear she doesn't eat fungus she's streaming she loves cheese. You will get it. But this looks incredible absolutely incredible and I would prefer to have it with the beef but you could have it with the hamburger too and it would be awesome. Enjoyed the way you taught us to make sour cream out of cream powder.
hi leisa i was wondering if you or anyone in the group might have a shelf stable recipe for a broccoli chedder soup like you can mix up a dry potato soup mix?
@@SuttonsDaze I apologize I wasn't very clear was I, I will blame that on the brain tumor I was diagnosed with a few weeks ago. Don't worry I am ok and working on getting better. I fully understand I can not can up the soup due to the dairy. I'm looking for a dry mix recipe using dehydrated and freeze dried ingredient that you can just add hot water to the rehydrate when you would like a bowl.
I've got to get a hold of what's her face powder I don't have that or the Worcestershire or the soy powder and I know I just said Worcestershire twice I'm not going to go back and change it. Love the way you show us things is there a trick for cream cheese also or no
Oh Thank you! Looks yummy! I will definitely try it. One question- new to using powder dairy.( I have the same brand heavy cream) how come you mixed it to make sour cream then added it to the recipe? Does it come out thinner or ? if you just add the powder heavy cream, water, vinegar, salt, straight to the pot?
@@SuttonsDaze Oh ok. Lol- I was happy to see that on making sour cream.( I love tacos and eat them often so that was a big win! ) I'm not a good cook at all or baker for that matter. I appreciate all you that are doing the challenge. Big help! Thank you!
Ok so clearly I need an immersion blender. I've seen numerous videos over the last week where people have used them and I'm amazed at how well they blend things. For those of us who haven't indulged in one yet, would making that sour cream work in a regular blender? Or how about a kitchen aid mixer with the wire whip attachment?
Yum!!!
Thanks for showing heavy cream \Sour cream!!!
Looks so great! Thxx, julie
In the uk we also add a little French mustard to the sauce
Mmmm...add some peas to that and it's complete!
You are amazing. You have all the tricks up your sleeves!

That looks wonderful, your husband is lucky to be the taste tester 😋
I've called it wort sauce for over 50 years 😀
Doing the math on this (my home canned pantry supplies used). I couldn't get fresh heavy cream last month, so ordered dry. Making this tomorrow.

For Worcestershire sauce-the shire is silent. Just like Scottish areas. Technically it would be Argyllshire for a region but they just call it Argyll.

No, you need to add the dairy and broccoli to the base when you are ready to make it. It is not safe to can.
