I totally understand Phil eating goulash on bread like a sandwich. My wife will butter a slice of bread put the goulash on it and eat it. Said that her dad would do that when she was a kid also.
Good pantry recipe. I understand your husband. I make lasagne sandwiches with cold leftovers. Karen sent me. Looking forward to the others. Stay healthy and safe. Thanks for posting!
Love Goulash!! I use 1lb of ground beef and 2 cans of pinto beans, 2 cans of diced tomatoes, 1 large can to tomato sauce, bell peppers and onions. Seasoned with Italian seasoning. Cook all of that in a large pot until veggies are tender. Add 3/4 cooked elbow mac and stir together. Turn the heat off, put a lid on and let sit for 10-15 min. The pasta will soak up all of the extra liquid. Yes! It is comfort food for my family. Left overs are even better. Cheap and filling. Nobody goes to bed hungry. :)
In Minnesota this is called Hot Dish, what my husband calls Goulash is something entirely different.. I love this stuff and now days I leave out the Rotell and use some Williams chili seasoning and lately we've been throwing in kidney beans and canned corn as an extender.. Always yummy.
Love this stuff. It's like a hug in a bowl. We add corn and baby green lima beans to it sometimes for a different flavor. But it's always wonderful. Thanks for the memories
One of my favorite shelf stable recipes is 1 can/jar of ugly chicken or pork, 1 jar of Goya sofrito, 1 can of pigeon peas & 1 package of yellow rice! I toast the rice a little in a bit of oil, then add the other ingredients including any liquid from the cans/jars & then just add some additional water if needed... Once everything is in the pan, just cook until the rice is done! Soooo yummy!
My cousin's a part of my uncles used to eat Grandma's baked spaghetti and sandwiches when it was left over I never got that either but they always all just loved it I did try it didn't like it as well I'll take leftover meatloaf been a sandwich any day though
My grandmother used to make this when I was little. I just started making it myself these last couple years. Sublime! Thank you for the video though. There's something so enjoyable about watching someone cook comfort food 😁
I do not purchase thrive products, but I have dehydrated all of them. I love crockpot recipes!! It doesn't look like dog food. I will trade your 60 degrees for my 115 degrees. :) Thanks so much for sharing.
Hey Leisa! WE LOVED this when I was a kid!! Our Mom made this a few times a month, I cant remember how She made it, but it looked similar to yours! Im definitely going to try your recipe, because now I am craving it!
I was not real hungry just too hot and tired today. And, I decided to just go and get boxed potatoes and make some up - dressing it up of course. Made me feel good. Not as fancy as yours, but did the trick.
I'M FROM MICHIGAN...WHERE'S THE BEANS??? LOL MY MOTHER WORKED AT THE RESTAURANTS..SHE PUT IN RED BEANS, OR KIDNEY BEANS.. IT ADDS MORE NUTRIENTS. AND NOW I LIVE IN WV..I PUT BEANS IN EVERYTHING, OR HEY JUST BEANS WIT A JAR OF HAM PIECES...WV SUPPER, BEANS, GREENS, FRIED POTATOES AND CORN BREAD.
I love goulash, my mom made it, also my Grandma, I make it and now my Daughter makes it, the only difference is I use egg noodles, as do all my family.
Watching replay. Love goulash. My grandmother use to eat goulash with bread and butter. Ohhh this would be good to dehydrate to take it camping or hiking. Thank you for sharing.
Cool! Doncha just love you can go to the 'store' in your jammies? This one looks & sounds perfect for my tastebuds! Tankee! I`m eager to try the sausage beef combo. I can see a new cookbook binder in my immediate future! 60`s?? It`s 6pm & 86 right now lol
Love Goulash. Had it when I was little. With 5 kids mom had to make meals stretch. There was also homemade butter bread to go with the meal. Unfortunately my husband grew up on it too and because his family had to eat it a lot he does not care for it. :)
We used to make this when I was a kid, but with just soup, no diced tomatoes, and definitely no chiles lol, we also used to use celery instead of the green pepper. I like it best the next day, microwaved and with a bit of butter or cheese mixed in.
Hi Leisa, I’m looking for a pressure canning video from a trusted source for cube steak, I have not found a trusted source. Do you have a recipe you would use?
I Love goulash! Yes, we've had leftover spaghetti (we do it on purpose). It's great for breakfast the next morning with an overeasy egg (or two) on it. When my kids grew up they made it just because they missed having it. 😁❤️
My husband used to make a similar version of this at his hunting camp. Brings back wonderful memories. Thank you.
Goulash gives me heartburn, but I love it!!! I get heartburn because I always eat too much - can't help myself. Goulash is delicious!!!
Phill isn't the only one that likes goulash sandwiches. Best way to eat it the leftovers
He feels so vindicated haha
I like that..."Measure with your soul." 😊
I haven't made a good goulash in ages.
OMG, I have not had goulash for years but it was a staple when I was growing up. No Rotel/chilis, of course.
That is my husband’s favorite recipe of all time!
Oh my goodness. Phil Lasagna sandwiches are great too!!
Add dark and light kidney beans and whole kernel corn you’ll like it 😋 goulash southern style.
If you need to stretch the meat, add cooked lentils. For vegetarians, replace the meat with lentils and canned mushrooms.
GOULASH!!! WE LOVE GOULASH!!😍
Looks good! Glad I found this video thanks!
Thank you! Lol! I’m one who would love a goulash sandwich !
One of my favorites
You have just TOO much fun with this! Looks tasty 👍🏻 I need to find my instapot…..
In New England, this is called American Chop Suey. My whole family makes a sandwich of it. It's especially good with vienna bread. Yum!!
Ours is just tomato sauce and Heinz Chili sauce. No rotel and no tomato soup.
Now that's a beautiful meal right there..
Great video thanks
LOVE goulash, have company coming this week, so this is on the menu.
This is a family favorite
This is just so wonderful. Love you guys.
My brother eats spaghetti sandwiches.
Love goulash.
“Measure with your soul my friends”. Love, love love it!
OMG that's one of my favorites as a child. Think I'll do it for the hubby next week. 😃
I make this recipe adding corn .
I totally understand Phil eating goulash on bread like a sandwich. My wife will butter a slice of bread put the goulash on it and eat it. Said that her dad would do that when she was a kid also.

Oh yeah! Make sure you slather on the butter for that goulash sammy!
Love goulash!! 😋😋
I make mine like I'm making chili, but swap out the beans for macaroni.
No Hungarian paprika?
Pure Comfort Food - love it!
Love Goulash!!

I add a pint jar of pinto beans, a can of corn, 1 cup of dehydrated zucchini and 1/2 cup dehydrated okra. So good.
We don't use sausage, tomato soup or the spiced tomatoes, We use mushroom soup and tomato juice. Goulash is one of the best make it your own meals.
In Minnesota this is called Hot Dish, what my husband calls Goulash is something entirely different.. I love this stuff and now days I leave out the Rotell and use some Williams chili seasoning and lately we've been throwing in kidney beans and canned corn as an extender.. Always yummy.
Looks good. This was a dish that was very popular back in the depression days of the 30's. I think they called it Depression Goulash.
Since pork is so cheap, can we get some pork recipes please!
We love goulash in my house! I have never thought to put sausage in it, I will have to try that next time I make it.
Omg this looks so good! I haven’t made it forever!!
Love this stuff. It's like a hug in a bowl. We add corn and baby green lima beans to it sometimes for a different flavor. But it's always wonderful. Thanks for the memories
I grew up with kidney beans in it. I've only ever met 2 other families that used beans in their's.
Can you processing this in an instant pot and if so how long? Thanks you’re the bomb
I also add mushrooms, sometimes celery. My MIL called it hash mush🤷♀️

I'll be making this soon but first I have to eat up the bean soup I didn't have enough jars for. I got 7 quarts though!!!
I love this stuff. It’s comfort food for me
I love goulash and that looked wonderful! You have an interesting crock pot insta pot.
Goulash is one of my comfort meals. And of coarse, with buttered bread.
My grandmother used to make this when I was little. I just started making it myself these last couple years. Sublime!
Thank you for the video though. There's something so enjoyable about watching someone cook comfort food 😁
Looks delicious
No food, but electricity for the instant pot.
Can you make this and then can it?
Without the pasta, sure, for the meat time.
I made this when you did the original video way back. Its the only way I make it now!!! So delish!
Goulash sandwich club 🙋🏻♀️
I do not purchase thrive products, but I have dehydrated all of them. I love crockpot recipes!! It doesn't look like dog food. I will trade your 60 degrees for my 115 degrees. :) Thanks so much for sharing.
Great one pot meal. Nice and hearty.
Ate a lot of goulash growing up. It's been a long time. Looks good.
That looks amazing. And I love the "goulash sammich" eyebrow raise from Phil.
Hey Leisa! WE LOVED this when I was a kid!! Our Mom made this a few times a month, I cant remember how She made it, but it looked similar to yours! Im definitely going to try your recipe, because now I am craving it!
Wow yummy recipe....

@@marcoswilliams2261 Pretty good considering the temperature and you?
Looks wonderful! Thanks, going to try it
Grew up similar goulash, but my mom used rice instead of macaroni. Husband insists on macaroni.
Question: Is the sausage jar just ground pork or like breakfast sausage with seasonings?
Mine is a seasoned sausage.
Thank you.
All over it!!! But....can I use egg noodles? (Picky husband)
Absolutely!
Oh gurrrl !!! It's on ! Making it this weekend!
@@akristakat2828 you've got this!
I will make a spaghetti sandwich!
Wonderful. Can you cook this in an instant pot and if so how long?
I use a slow cooker
Hey Lisa, you said the tomato soup was low acidic. So why are we concerned with low acidic if we are not canning?
Sometimes tomatoes products are very acidic in taste
Can I can this for winter
No
"Leisa it looks like dog food" ....🤣🤣🤣🤣 I couldn't stop laughing.
My husband does the same “goulash sandwich” thing too. This looks delish!!!
Mine, too. Must be a guy thing!
How long is home canned meat shelf stable? Thanks and I have made your goulash and it is the best!!!
18 months or more
I love goulash, my mom made it, also my Grandma, I make it and now my Daughter makes it, the only difference is I use egg noodles, as do all my family.
Egg noodles would be good too!
Looks delicious and it is also one of my favorite all in one pot meals. Thanks for sharing. Have a Blessed day.
I just made the roast beef today. All jars sealed and looks amazing! Thank you...
SKIN A CAT AHHHHHHHHH, I'm a cat lover, 😂😂🤣🤣😄😄😍😍love your analogies.
Watching replay. Love goulash. My grandmother use to eat goulash with bread and butter. Ohhh this would be good to dehydrate to take it camping or hiking. Thank you for sharing.
Leisa, can I pressure can the goulash mix and at dinner time, dump it into a pot to heat up and once it's hot, add the macaroni for 30 minutes?
I dont see why not.
You would need to pc for the meat time, so watch your headspace.
Looks good, but my Hungarian grandparents would be rolling in their graves for calling that goulash.
Mother made made this, we called it American chop suey and, yes, tomato soup is the magic ingredient!
Jammie shopping is da best!
I mean....I've been to walmart, there's nothing keeping some people from shopping in their pajamas, even in public.
@@KellyS_77 LOL True true! I think I`ll reserve mine for my personal store tho. :)
Pantry snobbery….lol
One of my Moms favorite go to(s). Great memories with bread and butter. I really like this version and I have everything on the shelves to make it.🤗👏
You're making me hungry and I already ate!!!
This looks amazing Leisa.. Definitely adding this to my folder. Thank you x
Love goulash! Great shelf stable meal!

Same here. This is one of my favorite foods from childhood. My husband's childhood sounds similar to yours. I'm doing good to make it once a year.
Great idea. TY
Thanjs!
This looks like one of my moms special occasion recipes although she would add corn as well…. Great memories.
We used to make this when I was a kid, but with just soup, no diced tomatoes, and definitely no chiles lol, we also used to use celery instead of the green pepper. I like it best the next day, microwaved and with a bit of butter or cheese mixed in.
My mom used tomato soup in hers too.
She loved tomatoes and tomato sauce but, wouldn't touch anything with cooked tomatoes in it!😅
Have you ever used a crock pot liner? I've used them for years. They are a major game changer.
Nooe, can't wrap my head around cooking in plastic bags...lol
what kind of zlow cooker are you using

Looks amazing. Going into my binder. Thank you. 💜

I am with Phil. It's good as a sandwich! :) God's blessings.
Needs garlic, cheese, oregano
That looked so good, Leisa! I wish we didn't have to finish off leftovers of spaghetti salad tonight. lol
LOL
Add some peppers and tomato soup to your spaghetti and you’re almost there!
