  • Lisa was born with one eye closed. Through adversity Lisa discovered the 3 phrases that changed her life. They could save yours too.
Lisa McInnes-Smith has built her life and her livelihood out of sharing words of inspiration and of honesty. She is now in the top five percent of speakers in the world and the first of only three Australians to be inducted into the USA Speakers Hall of Fame (CPAE). She has even shared the stage with two American Presidents, one Vice President and a swag of celebrity entertainers.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at ted.com/tedx

What an amazing woman & better yet seems to be a humble & beautiful Human Being!!! I am somehow in a much better mood after listening & watching such a beautiful lady tell her stories of how life gets better & it’s up to us to make it better for each other! After all we all have the ability to make someone else’s life better or worse & it often starts with a Word! She is the kind of person that makes you want to be around her because you just somehow feel her energy & that life is going to be ok or maybe even great! Thnx Lisa for being YOU!

    1.)Fascinating:
Choose your words carefully/ choose of words make a difference.
    2.)That's not like me:
Having faith in oneself to strive to reach ones true ability.
3.)I'm sorry, I was wrong and you were right: If one is able to do this, then they would not possess ego.
We live in a world where some feel bad words and needed to be cool or fit in a group.
Those that succeed are the ones that don't give up. Growing up in America, I admire the people for their persistence.
Saying sorry maybe easier than saying you are right. It takes a great person to say that, even if they weren't wrong. I wish to possess this quality.
    Very good advice, thank you.

I didn't understand thoug the second phrase: that's not like me. I got the first and the third points, but not this second one. Could you explain it, please?

    • @XxGlowStarlightxX
      @XxGlowStarlightxX 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@silvijasimic5348 "that's not like me" as in what I just did was not my full potential and I firmly believe that I can do better with more practice. its not "like me" because I know that I have it in me to become better at say playing a certain sport, public speaking, learning math, cooking, forming better relationships with family/friends etc. I hope this made it clearer for you!

I was wrong and you were right. I was wrong and you were right. I was wrong and you were right.
Cmon people, repeat after me. I was wrong and you were right.
Don't we all need to learn how to say this phrase? I know I do. Most likely, everyday.
Thank you so much Lisa! 6 years have passed and still helping people with your words!

I have always made more fun of myself, before others can.
And yes I have been hurt a lot!
I figured out when I was 4 or 5, that if you told the truth,
other people would not be able to get you in trouble!
So I always told the truth!!!!
    Always!!!
Even if I did something wrong I confessed!
    Always!l
There were a lot of punishments happening in my childhood.
    But I never lied!!!!.
But I have also used my truth and honesty to get me out of a few problems that I have unintentionally gotten myself into! (Think 20-30s)
    Maybe even death!
But for me it was honesty, 99% of the time!
I once told the truth and it saved me from a violent female who wanted anyone’s head, as a notch on her headboard.
I told her the truth and we became friends!
I never lied.... except when I really had to, to save my life.
Ahhh I do remember a time when........
    But it worked......
To this day I still tell the truth and so far it’s still working!
    Honesty is the best policy!
What I find fascinating is that most people do not appreciate honesty.
I go up to a cashier and tell him he has made a mistake!
He argues with me, up and until I show him the receipt, and then takes the money I owe him.
    To weird!
(You have to understand that this has happened more than once.)
But... The honesty has paid off.... Just a few days ago the store overcharged $100.00+ dollars.
Hay I am old and a $100.00 is a lot!
But I did get most of my money back!
Only missing 3-4 dollars, I was in the office for over 20 minuets... 3-4 dollars is worth getting me out of there!
    So think honesty..... always!
    ALWAYS BE HONEST!

    Fascinating...
Isn't that the Vulcan Mr Spock's word?
    I like it.
So long as it never becomes sarcastic... sarcasm kills a lot of good things... best be creative rather than destructive... as it all adds up for better or for worse... to be or to be more... build an empire of thoughts that benefit all who hear them... that the echos of our success will benefit all as they resound them onward to those yet to come. Words of life or destruction are in our power... the seeds and waterings of our future yet to be. What I do to the least I do unto me.
