@@LicksOfTheBeast is Lado is a very expensive guitar ? i had also purchased my 1st electric guitar in summer of 1991 when i was 13 years old. But then i sold it off in Autumn of 1995 when i was 17. Then i never played any guitar ever again in the next 27 years after that. Now (in 2022) i am all of a sudden thinking to make a comeback into playing the guitar again.
That's awesome! I hope you follow through with that because playing music is very rewarding. Lado is a Canadian boutique guitar company... They had the more budget-friendly Hawk Series made in Korea but the Canadian made guitars like this one were definitely more expensive...around the same price as other high end guitars but well worth the money!
@@LicksOfTheBeast Holy Shit ! i just checked on eBay and it is £3,000 for a LADO guitar. That is even more expensive than a Fender Stratocaster (like Janick Gers's guitar) or a Gibson Epiphone (like Angus Young's guitar).
@@LicksOfTheBeast The reason why i had sold my guitar in Autumn of 1995 was because i was studying for my final exams in High School and i did not want any distractions (such as playing the guitar) and at the time i thought that "i will go back to playing the guitar some day in the future" but that day never came at all in the last 27 years, until now. Also at the time i thought to myself "what's the point in playing the guitar ? it's not exactly as if i am going to become a famous rock star musician or anything like that". Fantastic performance! Love the Lado. You don’t happen to have the famous Lado Earth guitar like Adrian used to play too? Also love the Gretsch too, you can tell by my avatar that I am an enthusiast on that front! Again, fantastic performance Nico!
Thank you!! This Lado was actually my first good guitar. I got it because I wanted a superstrat and I knew Lados were good by reputation here in Canada and because H used one on Live After Death 😁 I don't own an Earth model like he had but I know someone who does and I did get to play it a bit... Very cool guitar for sure! I had always wanted an orange Gretsch since I was 10 years old from watching Brian Setzer and I still like rockabilly a whole lot so I love that guitar 😊 Do you have one?
@@LicksOfTheBeast - Cool stuff, your Lado experiences! That is awesome that you are a rockabilly and Setzer fan! Yes, I too have an orange Gretsch! I so dig my 6120! I guess we both bleed orange a bit. My rockabilly addiction is real! I love the original vintage stuff as well as the Setzer era and beyond!
@@LicksOfTheBeast - I should add, my story is much like yours, first discovered Setzer and the Stray Cats in the early 80s. I even saw them live when I was about 14! Made quite an impression!
Always is nice to see your covers 👏🏼 you are the best guy who can play Maiden 100% and súper accurate... by the way, how can I get that wonderful sound?
Hey thank you so much! For the sound, I am using Bias FX 2. It's a fantastic plugin that allows you to create a wide variety of sounds. I tend to keep the sound pretty simple and clean.
Great work ! As is! Powerslave is the best opus guitar wise and I d say has the best ad lib bass fills of the golden era "line up", Somewhere in Time is the most musically inovative because of Adrian Smith's carte blanche personnal compositions...7th son is very strong and well balance, but Piece of Mind is arguably Maiden' s ultimate album because it contains more received standards (Where eagles dare, Revelations, Flight of Icarus, Die with your boots on, The Trooper) and the excellent Harris "prototype prog song " , prelude to many more, To Tame a Land... I m Lucky to have seen 3 gigs during the Legacy north american tour, Smith and Gers would alternate the Revelations solo... Got to see 2 greats by Adrian out of 3!😄

Excellent work! This song is perfection. By the way what part was Bruce playing (or supposed to be playing? 😅) live, as he seemed to give up his guitar after a minute? 😁
Thank you so much! Bruce was doing the clean arpeggiated part during the first harmony at 1:07 (what I'm playing with the Gretsch at the top of the screen). He looked awkward AF 😄 but it made it sound a lot better than it would have without him playing that part.

Sorry but I don't like videos where someone plays over the original track. Hard to tell what is you and what is the original recording. Better just play to a metronome or similar and record over that. Seems more honest.
Hey Thomas, Your comment brings up a few points which I wanted to address both in reply to you and for anyone else who might be reading, so here goes: - While this channel is a lot more than just covers, I do have some full covers where I am playing all of the guitars parts over just the original bass, drum and vocal tracks so that there are none of the original guitars: Seventh Son, Rime of the Ancient Mariner, The Prisoner, Flight Of Icarus, The Trooper... On these videos, all guitars are me only. - Unfortunately I can't always get the original tracks but I still want it to be fun to listen to so I prefer using the full song instead of just a metronome as that would be quite boring for most people. - Most of what I do on this channel is for educational purposes so even my covers are filmed with all guitar parts shown from different angles so that if a guitarist watches this, they can better understand the notes, phrasing and fingering of each part. It takes A LOT of work to learn the songs note for note including the subtleties, film every part from 3 angles and then edit the whole thing together. But I do it because I want to put out good quality content and on a personal level, I would have loved to have had access so something like this when I was learning all this as a teenager so I figured it would be both entertaining for some and helpful/educational to others. Cheers! Nico
The fact that you even HAVE a Lado, let alone played one on this is awesome.
I bought it new in 1991 so it's actually my oldest guitar but still a great superstrat! 😊
