  • Shoulda' done a before and after video but it never dawned on me until I was finished. Next time.
    This is a short video to discuss the results of a simple sleeve inside the piston as well as around the spring guide and top hat of a Winchester 1100S air rifle. Completely cancelled cocking noise and mainspring vibration.

    I bought the Daisy version of this, I absolutely love it! From a rest, I can hit a 1” spinner at 50 yards open sights, about 1 out of 5 shots. After about 500 shots it has smoothed out quite a bit. I have a tune in a tube on the way, and I’m hoping it takes some of the twang out. I don’t have a spring press yet to do the piston sleeve mod. My PCP is getting dusty with my new love for springers.

      Yes, the Daisy 1100S is the same rifle as the Winchester 1100S. It's really astonishing that they can sell this gun so cheap. It's really not a bad gun.
      You don't need a spring press to disassemble or reassemble that rifle just so you know. The only problem you may run into is that the trigger is a little bit tricky and has to be partially disassembled in order to remove the main spring and piston.
      Although I've never tried it I hear that the tune and a tube works pretty darn well. Thanks so much for watching.

    Did you do any trigger work on yours? The way you are pulling the trigger I would assume you have if it was at all like mine as it takes three men and a boy to get the trigger past the second wall!!

    • @razor1962
      @razor1962  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Good eye Doug. There's a trigger mod out there in the airgun forums. It requires q set screw installation under the rear stock bolt. The screw acts directly upon the sear and can be adjusted somewhat. Be careful however, if adjusted too far, the gun becomes unsafe. It makes the trigger more manageable but not great.

    Hi. Did yours come with a scope or did you add it? Are there rails already provided for scope installation? If so, what scope do you recommend?

    • @razor1962
      @razor1962  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There was no scope with the rifle. The rifle is equipped with scope groves as well as a built in scope stop. Unfortunately, if you don't spring for at least decent glass, you're just throwing your money away. That means that the scope will cost about as much ss the rifle. Still, a decent scope makes shooting the rifle so much more precise. I'd recommend a Hammers 3-9x32
      Hammers 3-9x32AO Air Rifle Scope with One-Piece Mount,Black a.co/d/iLqQZNg
      It's a very good scope considering it's price point and it comes with a one piece mount.

    Hi, I was wondering how to take the front sight off this rifle, I tried but am afraid of breaking it.

    • @razor1962
      @razor1962  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The front site is a friction fit over the knurled end of the barrel. Removing it will most certainly make reinstalling it difficult as the plastic will most likely strip out. I have no plans to reinstall my front sight so it wasn't a consideration. Thanks for watching.

    I watched your tuning on the Varmint, is this the same process only with a soda bottle instead of the metal from a can? I've got both rifles and am thinking of starting with the 1101 first. One last question, what scope are you using on the 1100? I've been running iron sites. Thanks, good videos.

    • @razor1962
      @razor1962  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The soda bottle technique is very similar to the aerosol can technique. Check out this video where I show how to make a piston sleeve from a soda bottle.

    • @razor1962

      Out to 50 yards if the shooter can make the shot. Chinese guns will often vary greatly in accuracy. Your gun may not be capable of the kind of accuracy needed to shoot out to that distance.
