    JUST TO ADD: (4:06)
The jaundice wasn’t the trauma part of my birth (forgot to add it)-it was 3 days of labour, I wasn’t progressing so had to have a needle in my head to draw out blood as well as other issues!

So proud of my gorgeous daughter, who was so fascinated by her diagnosis she studied Psychology, achieving a First class degree last year. Only comment to make is her birth had other complications beside the jaundice. Pls check out her other videos including one where she talks about a book she was in by Fiona Fisher Bullivant

I was told by a psychologist that autistic people don’t have empathy. I described picking up others feelings and energy that make me exhausted.

If there's anyone wondering what are special interests like, they're sometimes associated with nature, and are extremely specific about a topic in a certain field. Someone could be into trains or cars and know LOTS of information about them.
For example, I'm VERY interested into growing pine trees that produce edible pine nuts, to the point that I feel euphoric when I'm doing anything associated with it.
It really weird, like my brain is just stuck on things that neurotypicals find extremely boring, it's a super power and a curse, because it makes my interests narrow - a huge disadvantage in life.

    Hi Darcey
Love the content. Really detailed and covers a wide span of life. As an employer myself, how would I support autistic people in a working environment? Are there traits of autistic people that are strengths in the work place?

14:45, I suppose explains the great quality of videos you make.
Quick question - Do you use Noise Cancelling Headphones? Can you recommend any headphones/earphones that works well.

Thank you so much! I used to use them in school, but nowadays I just listen to music with noise proof headphones to drown out noises (I love music since it’s repetitive and predictable). I personally just used noise cancelling ear buds as they were discrete and small. But I’m sure there’s way better out there haha!

I'm Asperger too, my question : How can you find your passion in life? I mean, a life purpose, I reckon that being able to handle highs and downs. What emotions did you feel in Tanzania when climbing Kilimanjaro?

Hi sorry for not seeing this! I’d say it’s the same for anyone really. I haven’t found mine yet as I’m still young. During kili I was lucky to have a great support of friends on the trip so they knew what to do when I got overwhelmed or I felt comfortable telling them how I’m feeling. I did a months camping trip a few years prior and that was a lot worse-no proper friends, or anyone to open up to. I hadn’t told anyone I was autistic either so I had a few embarrassing meltdowns and got overwhelmed once a day at least 🤣 I just had to get through it and remember that I was in Africa living a dream and to try and stay positive even if that’s on my own! It got better towards the end when people realised how upset I was and did start to help out.

@@darceylauren No worries ! I do fancy travelling too, after this Pandemic I really but really yearn to enjoy life :) I do believe this event has been a new beginning for me, to appreciate life and freedom and to overcome fears.
