How To Clean The Kitchen Disposer In Just 1 Minute

I use my garbage disposer to get rid of excess cat food and scraps, so my sink was getting pretty stinky. I checked You Tube videos on how to clean the disposer and discovered what DIDN'T work:
1. A tray of ice + scrubbing. Nope.
2. Ice + salt. Nada.
3. Vinegar + baking soda. Ditto.
4. Fill sink with hot, soapy water and run disposer as it drains. Uh-uh.
I finally nuked the smell by using a half cup of laundry bleach + a tray of ice cubes. A nice, cheap solution.
I followed-up with a packet of the Glisten Disposer Care which foamed like mad on both sides of my kitchen sink, especially on the non-disposer side. Very easy to use. All you need to do is run hot water for awhile, reduce the flow, and grind up a packet in the disposer. It instantly foams up and settles down in a couple of minutes with a clean lemon odor. I notice that Glisten uses a bleach alternative plus some lemon fragrance, so this is just the ticket.

I'm only going to use the Glisten when things get smelly again, but it seems to be a worthwhile cleaning product.
