    Choose numbers X and Y and follow the procedure for a generalized formula. The seventh number is 5X + 8Y and the total of all numbers is 55X + 88 Y for any values of X and Y. Clever.

    9:26 The first digit is not always the first digit - simply because there may be a remainder when adding the first digit to the second. This is why you should work it right to left - not left to right.

    This could be a great activity for a substitute teacher. The students will be impressed with the teacher. They could work together. They will be doing math. You can divide the class into small groups, have each do their 10 lines on different places on the white board while you relax. Or on paper at their desks, then transfer to the white board. (Good idea to have predrawn lines.) It's hands on, uses a good chunk of time, is impressive, and is interesting.

      You could do the right to left sum, lets say 156x11 . Sum the last digit with the previous one (6+5)=11, greater than 10, you got 1 to spare, now sum 5+1=6 add the 1 to spare, 7, 1 is the first digit and 6 the last one,resulting in 1716 😊

      @@WrathofMath They're probably from TikTok. These impatient kids are outta line. They clicked on a 12 minute video so they'd have been happy to spend 12 minutes having math fly in one ear and out the other. All it is is the fact they personally aren't ever going to present any tricks, so they feel like their time is wasted when hearing that side of it. They're ungreatful entitled little whiners. Not everything has to be for you. You wouldn't know if something would interest you with no tolerance to find out. "Oh, there's a sponsor i'm not interested in. Get on with it bro!" lol

    I mean this sincerely and hope you take it as constructive feedback rather than just criticism. I struggle with significant Dyscalculia which can make certain formats challenging for me to follow (especially math!!). That said, I find the topics you discuss to be super interesting. I wonder if you might consider exploring a different format for presenting in the videos.
    I understand the importance of hitting time markers and meeting algorithm requirements but I genuinely think a slight adjustment in your approach could further boost your exposure and improve overall audience engagement and reviews. This isn’t a sales pitch I just want to see your channel appeal to an even wider audience, including people like me. While I’m not an expert in content creating I hope this suggestion gives you some food for thought regarding alternative ways to present your material. Wishing you all the best with your channel!

    Many, many years ago I saw a math trick in a magic book which involved adding (or multiplying, I can't remember) two long numbers together very quickly. I think they were about 7 or 8 digits, but i don't think the exact number mattered. I can't remember how it was done now, but I know it was easy to do because after a few goes I could do it faster than someone using a calculator, and I'm no math genius. Could any of you guys remind me of the method please?

    Try for example multiplying 456 by 11 using the same method he used it won’t work. It will give you 49116 while the true answer is 5016!

    • @manudude02
      @manudude02 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      It does work, you just need to resolve any carryovers afterwards if they exist. Your 456x11 example would go 4-9-11-6, which resolves to 4-10-1-6 which goes to 5-0-1-6, i.e 5016

    • @tcxd1164
      @tcxd1164 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The fact that you have 21 copies of 19 is just because you chose the second number to be twice the first number.
      (5x + 8y, with y = 2x, is 5x + 16x = 21x.)
      If you chose, say, 15 and 31, the 21 trick won't work.

      @antonycornell6284 wdym it doesn't work with 19 and 38? 19+38+57+95+152+247+399+646+1045+1591 = 4389 = 399*11 = 19*21*11
      It wouldn't work to multiply the 1st number by 21 as mentioned above if y != 2x, but he never explicitly mentioned the 21 multiplier, or if I missed it that doesn't mean the 11 multiple doesn't work? If you pick 1 and 3 you get 29*11 = 319 which is correct, even though 1*21*11 is not correct.
      No clue how you got that 399*11 is incorrect

      Huh? I've genuinely performed this trick in literally 1 second. You look at the numbers, find the 7th (fourth from bottom) and multiply by 11. It usually takes longer than a second, but if the numbers work out nicely, 1 second is totally reasonable. If that 7th number is 432 for example, this trick will take me 1 second.
      There is significant set up which takes more than 1 second, but that is for the audience. The actual trick which is performed may take only a single second.
