- All-new for 2019 the Ram 1500 sees so many changes, including perhaps the most obvious the departure of that famed crosshairs grille. Polarizing? Perhaps, but don't count this pickup out yet. Some of the other improvements might just make up for the dramatic facelift.

It’s disgusting how expensive trucks have gotten
Nittanyburg 20 eh if you adjust older trucks to inflation new ones aren’t that much more expensive. People just don’t make as much money as they used to proportionally
just like the 90's again, Trucks now(SUV'S then) have become the new sports car and bling vehicle. Yes they suck on gas, but are actually usable everyday.
Well the thing is ppl want more even work trucks. They even said push to start was standard and screens and lcd screens. They all add cost that I don't like.
@@iseeu2002 push start is standard on all trims because it's so ubiquitous that it's cheaper than having a physical key for specific models. The screens are similar, plus there has to be at least one for the mandatory backup camera.
@@SkiDaBird Push button start keys are more expensive then traditional keys because you can just get a key made at any hardware store and drive away with it unless you have a key fob with a transponder on it. The added cost of also programming them are expensive. You don't necessarily need a screen to have backup camera. Most cars pre 2018 have backup cameras in rear view mirrors that have small lcd in them that lets it project what is being seen outback. I don't like all this techs and my basic work truck f150 has nothing. A basic hand crank window to and no extra backup cameras. The work truck is a 2014.

Eventhough RAM is basically a separate company now, dodge and RAM are under the same umbrella company.

@꧁Wesley꧂ yeah that's kinda what I said. Ram and dodge are owned by the same umbrella company called FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles). Now dodge technically does not own ram but both RAM and Dodge are owned by FCA therefore technically they are the same company but not exactly.

all of the manufacturers of these trucks, the price points have gotten so expensive resulting in not being affordable to the average americain.. so what's the point?

They are primarily purchased as a company vehicle. Sales guys and tradesmen get them as part of their compensation package. It's a big part of the reason families are bring less $ home each week, because daddy had his boss give him a fancier truck rather than a bigger salary raise.
I dropped out of high school, never went to college. Got a job, busted my ass. Lead to another job, worked even harder and now I’m a lead person, making more than enough to afford this truck. I consider myself below average in many ways, considering my education level and credit score. If I can afford this truck, average people across America can as well. The price goes up because of inflation. If your employer is not giving you a minimum 3% raise every year to account for the cost of living going up, you need to find a new employer.

My 2014 Ram 1500 now has 148,000 miles and it has been very reliable. The only thing I have changed is brake pads and tires and of course scheduled maintenance. Now most other FCA products I probably would not consider.
717 flyer the only other FCA products I would consider would be a Dodge Durango with a hemi or a Jeep just because they are unlike any other car made.
Joel Repass lets say I would love anything with a hemi which has been a proven engine and the ZF 8 speed transmission.
15" wheels are not available. Wouldn't come close to clearing the brake rotors.

You can still buy the old one called the Ram 1500 classic.
Yup. I remember buying a dealer ad special Toyota sienna for $24k back in 2006. Fast forward and that same trim is now $36k. Shocking how much inflation has gone up but the Federal reserve would have you believe it's only gone up 3% a year.

From the threads I’ve read, people say there’s been a clunky noise, not long after having this truck. Not sure where it stems from. The AC was also reported to be to weak. Anyone know that’s bought? I wanted to get one but I haven’t yet because of this.

Should be standard on all vehicles although I personally think all added features enable drivers to be less tentative to driving and potentially more dangerous in thag matter

4:01, they showed the interior of the old generation Ram 1500 Longhorn. They didn't have footage of the interior of a new Ram 1500 Longhorn? Very misleading.

I wanted a Tacoma, but now I need a Ram. I'm disappointed that Toyota has become complacent with their customers. I've owned two Tacos, but now looking at other brands that are more innovative.
I just traded in my 2017 Tacoma limited for a 2019 Ram. Toyota needs to stay up to date to stay competitive. Loved it but the Ram was smoother, got the same MPGs, same price, more tech and better safety features.
Dodge will only las 5 years max, rust, everything breaks down. U buy a Toyota for LONGEVITY & DURABILITY
I have always been a Toyota guy, and I completely agree with you. Toyota cars are so outdated these days. A small but important example is still no Android Auto in 2019. And the MPG on their trucks is no longer comparable. Reliability is great, but Toyota need to bring more to the table.
Same here, I love all generations of the tacoma. But Ram is willing to provide me with an ecodiesel. Until Toyota permanently solves frame rust issues, and provides a diesel, i'll stick with the new Rams.

What about the Nissan Titan Truck
We just got a Laramie Longhorn in the shop, seriously insane interior, blows everything else in the class out of the water!! Love the gold accents, the dry wood trim, and the gator-like leather... tho, the circus peanut orange they use for the steering wheel, dash, and doors is no bueno and almost ruins the whole interior and the seats are very hard. If I wasn't the world's largest FCA hater, it might have been worth a look.

Grille would be better on a Durango. Maybe if the grille was black instead?
I absolutely love the 5th gen. Even the base model looks good. I'm just waiting for the ecodiesel. On a side note i'm happy they finally tossed the crosshairs grill. It was a dodge thing. Ram is no longer dodge. They made the right choice.
Yeah I agree new trucks can be expensive BUT I searched all over the country and bought a new 1500 quadcab with towing pkg and hemi crome tailpipes luvit! for $25,000 listed for 40. Ya gotta shop!

Im looking at a RAM 1500 in Australia. Basic trim and AUD $80,000 drive away or about USD $ 57,000.00 depending on the exchange rate. Oh, and thats the superseded model without the safety kit. Still, its the only V8 rear wheel drive in Australia so the other choices are Thai built four cylinder utilities.
These trucks are on sale right now I looked at one yesterday with all the same options just with the 22 inch wheel upgrade and it was 48,600. But of course dealership antics is the reason I didn't buy one yesterday.
I personally think all manufacturers are out for the money and lots of what they want them to have on the different trim that are not that are not value pack it's always in favor of the manufacturer so you can dismiss most anything they have said concerning customer first always

The people who spend that much are the people who don’t use it as a truck but a luxury vehicle. I bought a 2014 tradesman and it is just fantastic and is the best truck I have owned, I would have bought an F150 but the local dealer kept trying to charge me more and the Ram has more features and was cheaper. I will definitely buy another one but probably not a high trimmed one.
Don't have too. Here my local dealer was offering a 2018 Ram Laramie with 13k miles for $34k.
A pretty good price.
The same one one a 2019 on the show room floor was $54k.
It shouldn’t surprise anyone anymore. For 65k you can get a small luxury sedan like an A6 or a loaded luxury truck. More and more people are getting the luxury trucks when looking to spend this type of money.
@@rxonmymind8362 RAM loses its value really fast. I can find a 2017 Laramie with low miles (20k) with 4wd for 28k in California.
The majority of Ram dealers have great rebates on their trucks if you are buying brand new. The preowned are reasonably priced as well.

You have to look at the prices on all of these truck these days....Gone too far, and the market for that is surely limited...A truck, it's a truck..Love Ram, but never new...be my guest..Ill get it after you pay the depreciation.

Americans shouldn't complain about car prices. In Norway where I live a fully loaded RAM 1500 cost about $180.000 due to taxes.

I have a 2014 eco diesel and it does better than EPA numbers.
@@pensive69 The reporting's on Fuelly.com are well below EPA. TFL Truck couldn't get anywhere near the EPA numbers. Plus many other TH-cam videos.

Friend bought new 6 months ago. Beautiful truck. Averages in the shop about every 6 weeks, including 2 weeks to fix the air suspension. Too bad, when it runs, its nice. Has 10,000 miles on it and whenever he travels out of town, he now rents a car.
These trucks are actually pretty cheap compared to Chevy and ford. The long horn with a few top packages has all of the features as a $65,000 f150

But they have very cheap fuel in USA so it's not big deal. If they have european fuel prices($5-6 galon), 99% of those trucks would be diesels.
That is true, when I am doing highway driving if I get over 25mpg in my truck, I am so happy. Around town it sucks though. You just cant escape the amount of energy need to move something so big and heavy.@@zuti071
Come to the US. Gas was around $2.30 a gallon a few weeks ago. It sucks now around $2.60 a gallon.

I had two of these ram trucks 2012 and 2014 model years. Don’t ask me why long story. Let me just say really take into consideration the gas prices, pretty much useless truck bed space and how hard it is to park at times. I found myself using the backseat for groceries and the truck bed was useless most of the times because I couldn’t leave anything in it if I wanted to go to another store like for instance Walmart and Sams club next to each other. I go to both at times. Yes you can buy a truck camper top or cover but again you need to spend more money ugh. They were nice trucks though. I regret trading in the 2014 ram. I loved the gear knob idea. I miss it actually. But I’m more of a smaller car guy now. My next vehicle I’m going all in on EV or a small cargo van perhaps which I almost recently considered but I need to pay off my loan already. Another 6 years is not tempting at all. Although I would consider a single cab ram truck which I haven’t seen them come out with one yet?? Where are they?? Those might be worth it. Shorter etc. I would buy the camper top for sure.
