I replaced that box monstrosity with a k&N CAI It's the kind with a cone filter inside the box that sits where the stock AI goes. I actually had a code for "air intake too hot" which i never even knew was a thing haha This was mainly because the wooly worm went, and i replaced it with some aluminum ducting, effective, cheap and looks "mint" haha but I hate this stock box it's so annoying to do a simple filter change. on that note, i'm glad to hear this one is over 200k, cause mine is at 185k and Doordashing strong Weird but fun car :)
That is a nice upgrade! I have 270K on it now, with the stock wooly worm, though I had to repair it with some shoe goo. I had thought about the K&N upgrade, but I have other projects that need that cash, haha. You are right, weird car but it is perfect for my daily beater, fits 8 foot boards, tows my little trailer, and is all around a good car.
@@mehlsmountaingarage it's crazy how much you can fit in this car 270K is awesome! If shoe glue keeps it working then it's the right answer :) I feel that my sky's trans just crapped out on me T_T (i think it's the clutch hydraulic cylinder cause it still shifts into gear just horridly) So i'm back in the HHR haha I would love to install a luggage rack and a trailer, and make it the worlds best camper car :)
I've seen some of them as camper cars on the HHR forum, I must admit I've used mine to sleep in a few times. I have the roof rack side bars, but not the cross bars, they are apparently un-obtanium!
The upstream o2 sensor is in the exhuast manifold (firewall side of the engine) of the 2.2 and 2.4L, not sure of the 2.0. It's pretty easy to get to from underneath the vehicle. The downstream is after the catalytic converter, but before the resonator. Look at this link for a service manual pic, post #3, www.chevyhhr.net/forums/problems-service-repairs-42/o2-sensor-locations-39570/#post621144 Hope this helps.
THANK YOU
You are welcome, hoped it helped!

Where's the 02 sensor at the top located?

Does this fix an AC issue??
It does not.
