    Great video. I learned a lot from it. On that thermal expansion valve that you installed. Are the two screws that are used to bolt on the thermal expansion valve hex screws? Thank you.

    You did not replace the evaporator at all, the part u refer to as the evaporator is actually the expansion block.

      Which is mounted on the evaporator....

    I would NEVER buy a ac compressor from amazon. and now Im very careful on ordering any type of parts from them. I spend extra time reading the fine print on the page before ordering now. I made a small mistake ordering one from amazon 2.5 yrs ago. I ordered one for my pt cruiser, a 4 seasons brand, turns out I ordered it for a stick shift and not a automatic trans. I tried to return it and they said no return. I caught the mistake after opening the box. the compressor to this day is still sealed in the factory plastic and never pulled out of the box. I still have the compressor sitting in the box in my shed on a shelf. $238 bucks wasted and I would not spend more money on another expensive compressor so I pulled one from a salvage yard and it still works great today

      Just make sure to buy a good brand name and make sure you that the correct part number. I don't see why buying it from amazon would be any different then buying it somewhere else.

      @@KGsGarage any where else a compressor un opened and sealed a return of a sealed compressor, would be excepted, specially from a ASE master tech. from now on, it's either rockauto or a salvage u pull it yard for me on ac compressors

    Just bought a Hhr with a bad compressor. Does the car have a dryer/accumulator? Didn’t see you change it. It’s usually suggested with a new compressor.

    • @KGsGarage
      @KGsGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      the dryer is attached to the condenser.

    My ac compressor went out after my condenser got bent really bad. I replaced condenser and im gonna replace the compressor but where is the accumulator/drier
    And does it have orifice tube or ac expansion valve??

    • @KGsGarage
      @KGsGarage  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      yes it has an expansion valve, i replaced it in this video. The accumulator/drier is in the condenser and there is an orifice tube in one of the metal lines.

      @@KGsGaragehey man I got an hhr I just replaced the condenser I’m thinking my expansion valve is bad because the ac compresser runs and runs and runs and the ac never gets cold. In fact the high side never actually builds up pressure at all it won’t take any refrigerant. Inside the car when it’s on cold it blows warmer air than the outside air. The condenser shouldn’t be the problem it’s brand new.

    How much oil goes into the condenser?

    • @KGsGarage
      @KGsGarage  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      zero.. it all goes in the compressor.

    Am I supposed to put PAG in the condenser? My new condenser is totally dry

    • @KGsGarage
      @KGsGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. The oil goes in the compressor to lube it. The oil is supposed to stay in the compressor.

      I always use Ester oil, it is compatible with all pag's and also mineral oil for R-12 too.

      I have a tripod and use it sometimes, other times it's easier to film by hand. Thanks for the comment I'll try and be better about moving around more slowly.
