Can't wait to see PinkCubed vs Fly again next week. It's fun to see you losing your mind over not having content lol. I used to be like that until I finished the story, although the Light Novel handled these slow times better. I at least started to appreciate these moments in retrospective.
At this point Rudy is 16 (+34), his sisters are around 10. LN Rudy was more reluctant about letting Aisha be his servant. But he also took into account that he didn't wanna force her because he feels that sitting in a classroom does nothing if you don't want to actively be there to learn, and considering she already has a well-rounded education (Lilia claimed in the letter she ran out of things to teach her a year ago, and that she's already great at writing, math, history, geography, etc., and beginner level in every magic class and even water god sword style). Her exam results were so cracked the vice principal offered her special student status. Despite all that, I do still think it'd be best for her to attend. At least Rudy did offer to home school her in intermediate magic because she's still young and the earlier you learn magic the better. The fight between Norn and Aisha in the book also got a little more physical. They started pulling on each other's hair or whatever and Rudy sharply told them to stop, which brought Norn close to tears. There was also an interesting moment they skipped where Rudy asks Sylphie what he would do if he asked her to abandon Ariel for him and she said she wouldn't because Ariel needs her more than Rudy does.
This Norn arc is one of the highlights for me this volume, i hope they nail the next episode. Both sisters are written really well and i feel like you missed some of the essence of their concerns from this episode, so just to point it out: Aisha feels like all her effort is meaningless because she always feels like it gets overshadowed by the fact of being a bastard child essentially, and Norn gets a lot of freebies even tho she doesnt work as hard and isnt as competent. It certainly doesnt help that Lilia somewhat enforces this rhetoric 26:40 (and Zeniths parents as well). When viewed through this lens it makes a lot more sense why Aisha wants to be with Rudy as his maid so much, because he doesnt see her as a half-sister, and it also makes sense why the sisters are at odds. Also Aisha with her hair down is so damn cute i love her. And i cant say too much about Norn to avoid spoilers for next ep so ill save it for next week, but you can get quite a lot just from this episode alone, even with the cuts they made for the anime. Norn is just a normal child, and that alone has potential for juicy content. A bit of cut content for this episode regarding Norn that is safe to mention is them cutting Norn and Aisha fighting a lot more both physically and verbally, (with some quite nasty verbal remarks), and if it wasnt obvious, Norn has the worst opinion of Rudy, she thinks he is violent, a drunk (he came back from Bananas party last ep drunk when they first met), a womanizer and someone who just throws money at problems - most of these are just unfortunate timings sadly. Also in regards to your last point, idk, MT has always been a slice of life show, with action sprinkled in, the entire cour 1 of s1 was just slice of life, and most of S1 cour 2 was pretty chill as well. If you really think about it there have been very few action scenes in S1, like 2 monster fights, smuggler/Gallus fight, Orsted fight and thats pretty much it i think, the rest has been just drama and character development or minor clashes.
the difference from a plastic bottle to a phone is the molecular complexity of the object. a water bottle is exclusively made of plastic. A phone has several different metals, mercury and shit... A house made out of plastic is simpler in complexity then a half-foot square phone. It would be easier to summon an ocean of plastic than even a single Gameboy. Im not taking this out of my ass , its simply facts. and im also saying everything according to the lore of the books. And yes 11:05 this isn't specifically mentioned in the books but its according to the lore: A living human (with billions of working brains synapses) is probably among the most complex things you can ever summon. If it was a dead body with not active functionalities it would still be hard due to all the organic matter but exponentially easier.
If you think about it the drama potential was already over the moment that Rudy cured his ED and settled with Sylphy, now he is kinda eh about it and probably don't see a reason to reconcile anymore, meanwhile Eris is just chill and probably thinks that Rudy is waiting for her so the only drama potential even without Rujierd interference is Eris finding out that Rudy is married.
The sad thing about Aisha thinking she's an illegitimate child...is that it's not just some negative self talk that she came up with, she is LITTERALLY TOLD by her mother and Zenith's mother that Lilia is a mistress (despite Paul calling her his wife). Lilith still feels guilty for her part in betraying Zenith, so she puts herself beneath Zenith.
I personally think you should drop mushoku tensei now. Some things will happen that I know will make your head explode, it may be bad for your health. I personally loved the show but I don't see you getting past a certain event.
Rujierd hitting that quick escape when he saw rudeus didn't marry eris. Well he had something to do he is always looking for his people. But he does mention in the light novel it was difficult to be around so he clearly felt akward with rudeus having married sylphie. Saying it would be difficult for him to be here so rujierd is confirmed a eris fan. rudeus this was not part of the plan. But still gave sylphie some recognition before leaving because he is rujierd. Everyones friend. Also rudeus in the LN agrees that yes eris is not a person of many words he knows just didn't think about it until now because well insecurities and what not. Also wanting eris to behead sylphie is wild 🤣😆
she is a massive bro-con, so she just wants to be with Rudy and help take care of him tbh, i dont think she is the type to care about what is and isnt expected of her - as she often butts heads with her mother about such things (cut LN content for S1 until now pretty much)
LN cut content for this episode is hard to post, because i have no idea what they will include next episode, so ill keep it very short and only related to things that definitely got cut: Anime failed to show Ruijerd essentially finding it very awkward and uncomfortable to stay at Rudys place because Rudy got a new wife and it isnt Eris properly. Also the reason why Badi and Ruijerd scene was tense was because Badi was a moderate and didnt support Laplace during the war, while Ruijerd was essentially part of Laplaces royal guard/spec ops squad and probably ended up killing a lot of Badis people during that time. However Badigadi probably doesnt know the full story of the Superd and how they got betrayed by Laplace. - All of this is Rudys POV and speculation. A ton of sister interactions and slice of life got cut, like for example Aisha being very flirty and cute with Rudeus, her happily bathing with him (japanese cultural thing, less weird when put in that context) and she even slept with him shortly after her crying scene this episode. While Norn was just very pouty, unhappy and distant. Also the two sisters are a lot more at odds with each other than you may think, even getting physical a bit. Rudy teaches Aisha intermediate level magic, just for self defense purposes + more of cute Aisha moments. We also miss out on another great Banana moment that is really unfortunate. During a conversation with Rudy she suddenly wants pudding, which reminds her of her 10 year old younger brother always stealing her pudding from the fridge back in our world, and Rudeus notes that even tho it doesnt seem like the happiest of memories, it had her home-sick and holding back tears. Also Banana contemplates if time still passes normally for our world, then her younger brother would be older than her at this point, as she doesnt age right now. Even tho in the anime Linia and Pursena seemed like super bad bullies, they actually had good intentions (which is why Rudy went easy on them + he acknowledges that he is probably biased due to being friends), they were only asking girls for their underwear and they would trade their pantsu for fresh new ones (tho they still had the intimidating delinquent aura to them so many probably felt like they had no choice in the matter). This brilliant idea came to them from the fact that Rudy literally worships panties, and the whole idea of going after flat-chested and younger girls came from Rudy marrying Sylphie and her features. We also skip an entire chapter dedicated to Ginger reuniting with Zanoba, and how she fits into her new role in Zanobas current life. Theres too much to cover here, but a lot of good Zanoba moments that i wish we got. And lastly, Badigadi seems to be MIA ever since meeting Ruijerd.
It kinda feels like what you want from this show was for them to skip everything character related with Rudi and just pop out a little bubble that says “and he overcame his mental anguish and got married. Now back to the zap zap”. Or it could be a meme where he just stays as his perverse porn addicted self with questionable social skills but do it as a traveling adventurer and you would see no issue. Also, I did get confused when the beast girls handed some “conflict” in and it’s all a joke while Norn invents a conflict from a distortion and it’s lauded. The joke doesn’t land proper since it’s applied at random. The better version of the joke would be to just hate every new character as a matter of point and then begrudgingly accept them as the story forces it.
Why are getting so emotional about fictional characters? Aisha did work very hard for what she wanted, you may disagree but that's how she was raised from birth. Norn got what she wanted when she didn't even pass so I like how both of them have issues.
