@@TheMMSpirit I didn't say that the cat would kill the yote. I said that the yote would never get its jaws on the cat. That is true. Bobcats are very resilient and powerful. In a one on one confrontation, it's likely that the bobcat would pin the coyote down and destroy its neck. Felines are extremely strong pound for pound as they are solitary hunters. I know a farmer with a 20+ lb cat that beat off a Coyote with only minor injuries. Bobcats are larger, tougher and far more experienced than any kind of domestic cat.
But not when the coyote get a hold of the cat's face when it's pinned down. There is a video of a coyote escaping a cougar like that and also a video of an Indian Gaddi Dog scaring away a huge Leopard in the same manner.

*_I have a cluster of Bobcats living in my woods. They normally move on i believe but because they have a river nearby, tons of wildlife & no poachers i think these have changed their habits. I walk or drive the ATV along the track which cuts about 15 yards from where their den is & they used to hiss & spit at me but now they just look at me. I have a pack of 5 Belgian Malinois that go everywhere with me & they dont even pay attention to each other no more. I carry my short barreled AR-15 when going thru the woods because their is the extremely small chance a cat might attack or a mountain lion even. The kids {aged from from 13 to 19} also carry the Tactical AR plus the Glock 30 .45ACP. My daughter did run into one of the Bobcats [no harm done] but i always told the kid's to just continue along the path with weapon raised on full auto & the cat will always move off to the side. Otherwise shoot it. Because the only reason i dont run them off is because they can never get in near my animals or home, pasture plus i notice less coyotes about & finally, they got no farmers to bother for over 20 miles so they live on what they catch in the area so their better off where they are_*
@groundguy And? Female lions aren't (for the most part) the fighters. They hunt. Male cheetahs are more likely to run as they aren't built to fight. BTW, the word you're looking for in regards to the group of cheetahs is coalition.
Looks to me like Mr. Coyote smelled little baby kitties and Mamma Cat said, "Nope"! It looks like Mr. Coyote got one one at the end and is flaunting Mamma with it.
I would imagine that your dog barks when it sees anything invading her territory [your yard]. It probably also marks its territory. Cats are keen to this and avoid needless confrontations. Most animals prefer to avoid confrontations. Unless it is mating season, the animal is defending its territory, its food, itself, or its young, there is no reason why an animal will risk injury by unnecessarily fighting.
@csbob2010 lol and i think you underestimate felines. They're agile and fast, and generally considered the top predator in whatever region of the world they live in.
And "agile and fast" is only half of the story. Few creatures can match the fury of a cat! My 120-pound German Shepherd could kick the ass of a half dozen coyotes . . . but one bobcat would be problematic. Fortunately, the bobcat knows that a 120-pound GSD is NOT "prey." On the other hand, coyotes are smart enough to know that hunting as a group is quite affective.
@Spotted Hyenas I think you are partially correct. BUT I have two dogs, and two dogs are more than twice the power of one, because they can protect each other's backside . . . which, of course, is the strategy of animals hunting in packs. Our neighbors suffer all kinds of problems with coyotes, but none come into our yard. (For obvious reasons)
The bobcat is letting the coyote know "I'm not giving up my territory to you". They compete for the same food. That's all this video is about. Don't know why that's so hard to see.
It's interesting how usually coyotes are pretty daring out this one looks a bit worried. It looks as it want to pass in that particular direction but the cat almost inadvertently block its path. In the final images, it looks the coyote is barking perhaps calling other mates who are around.
Yeah eh? Lets just shoot all the wildlife so ranchers can make lots of $$. And all the idiots that let their pets loose everywhere can just keep not thinking about the safety of their pets. Stupid wildlife...didn't anyone bother to tell them WE live here now? Time to get the fuk out! O.o
I agree with R. Jensen - coyotes are mangy varmints best shot on sight. They are a scourge that needs to be controlled at all times and eliminated if possible.

they were sensing each other. a coyote and bobcat are pretty equally matched and as they feel each other out, they look for signs of weakness. they both appeared alert and healthy, so the cat avoids confrontation. felid species are inclined to do avoid other predators, as they are solitary and rely on individual health and hunting prowess, while dogs tend to live in packs and are less concerned for individual safety. classic case here.
Notice how the Lynx does not allow that coyote to get behind it. The coyote continuously kept stopping and tried to get behind the Lynx. These are things to learn from watching wildlife. Thanks for the video. Good job and God bless.

That bobcat was a bit small, a juvenile perhaps
really it looked huge to me
The bobcat was true to size. They're not that big. See
th-cam.com/video/zX-1_kdh97c/w-d-xo.html (compared to housecat) and th-cam.com/video/UtGY9H_-QXA/w-d-xo.html (outside with her kits)
CA Catr, ~ 18 - 35 lbs. Hard to tell by distant camera, but this one appears no larger than a younger adult.
I was wondering same thing, that it looks smaller...and that it might perhaps be a juvenile...????
That cat was defending its kill but the coyote's persistence paid off. The cat probably could have slapped the shit out of the dog's nose, but it figured why risk the injury to self.
If it won the fight but was left too wounded to hunt then it would still lose in the end.
***Wild cats tend to reason better than wild dogs in that respect.***
Because the only reason i dont run them off is because they can never get in near my animals or home, pasture plus i notice less coyotes about & finally, they got no farmers to bother for over 20 miles so they live on what they catch in the area so their better off where they are_*
music is phenomenal, and well suited to this video. Love it.
Looks like the cat didn't want to let the coyote into its territory.
The bobcat would mess up the coyote very quickly
The bobcat does not trust the coyote, but the bobcat is turning it's back to the coyote, as it's walking away. Not sure what to make of that.
The bobcat was not afraid of the coyote, and saw that the coyote already had some food. So the bobcat just went on his or her way.
@groundguy And? Female lions aren't (for the most part) the fighters. They hunt. Male cheetahs are more likely to run as they aren't built to fight. BTW, the word you're looking for in regards to the group of cheetahs is coalition.
Thought the music sounded familiar then remember it is William Orbit. Fine taste in music you have.
Looks to me like Mr. Coyote smelled little baby kitties and Mamma Cat said, "Nope"! It looks like Mr. Coyote got one one at the end and is flaunting Mamma with it.
They seem like pals.
I would imagine that your dog barks when it sees anything invading her territory [your yard]. It probably also marks its territory. Cats are keen to this and avoid needless confrontations. Most animals prefer to avoid confrontations. Unless it is mating season, the animal is defending its territory, its food, itself, or its young, there is no reason why an animal will risk injury by unnecessarily fighting.
this look so funny, like when you want to block a person from entering the door
The bobcat was walking on his tippie toes!
haha kinda cute that coyote at the end..but i rekon the bobcat would whoop its ass
It looked more like they got along more than anything, like they tolerated one another
@csbob2010 lol and i think you underestimate felines.
I geeked out as soon as the 70s porn music started playing 😂
It almost seems like they've interacted before, and knew each other. They really were not that scared or intimidated, just a bit weary.
The bobcat is letting the coyote know "I'm not giving up my territory to you". They compete for the same food. That's all this video is about. Don't know why that's so hard to see.
This appears to be a case of mutual respect.
Stale mate! Same between a leopard and a hyena.
Well that was 2 minutes i'll never get back.
Bobcat would ruin the yotes day 100%
Mornin' Ralph....
Mornin' Sam.....
Got any food over there?
Nah, you?
Nope....nothing.
2 beautiful creatures encountering each other and curiosity from both Animal's it's cute 😊
It's interesting how usually coyotes are pretty daring out this one looks a bit worried. It looks as it want to pass in that particular direction but the cat almost inadvertently block its path.
In the final images, it looks the coyote is barking perhaps calling other mates who are around.
It's path wasn't blocked.
The coyote was just wise about the "never back a cat"
An injury for either animal is a death sentence in the wild. Especially true for the bobcat as it does not have a pack to rely on.
Coyote is like: im looking for Johnny, have you seen him ? Nice biceps, do you lift ?
Two of my very favorite wild American animals: the Lynx and the Coyote!
+Jauckor All coyotes should be shot on sight. Just ask all the ranchers,as well as the thousands of Americans who have lost pets to coyotes.
Yeah eh? Lets just shoot all the wildlife so ranchers can make lots of $$. And all the idiots that let their pets loose everywhere can just keep not thinking about the safety of their pets. Stupid wildlife...didn't anyone bother to tell them WE live here now? Time to get the fuk out! O.o
you're embarrassing the rest of the educated Americans by saying dumb stuff like that. Robert J.
I agree with R. Jensen - coyotes are mangy varmints best shot on sight. They are a scourge that needs to be controlled at all times and eliminated if possible.
Who's problem is that? We are in their territory what do you expect? Circle of Life!
Their asking each other where that space funk music is coming from.
Did the coyote have the bobcat’s kill in the end? Was it taunting it? There was something in it’s mouth.
@RmeRetired Hey..have you had the opportunity to see snow melt ? That's freakin' AWESOME !! Did you record it,and is it on youtube ??? Please share link ! Fingers crossed here :)
The coyote wanted to play and that Bobcat said dude we are not friends and if you come any closer I will thrash you! I just finished sharpening these razors on my paws. Come test out my meat hooks!😂
they were sensing each other. a coyote and bobcat are pretty equally matched and as they feel each other out, they look for signs of weakness. they both appeared alert and healthy, so the cat avoids confrontation. felid species are inclined to do avoid other predators, as they are solitary and rely on individual health and hunting prowess, while dogs tend to live in packs and are less concerned for individual safety. classic case here.
Trust me, they're not equally matched. If it came down to it, the bobcat would win.
That bobcat wanted to rumble, he kept cutting off his path and stalking him
Notice how the Lynx does not allow that coyote to get behind it. The coyote continuously kept stopping and tried to get behind the Lynx. These are things to learn from watching wildlife. Thanks for the video. Good job and God bless.
bflo1000 You're right. Also, I still am not really sure which animal it is either. I was going more by what some of the other comments were saying. Either way great video. Thanks again.
+notsosilentmajority1 there actually the same
