My mom died 02/27/2023 at 40 and when I was a kid, this was her favorite song to sing to me. I'm not into country, but when I need her, I listen to this. It reminds me of good times.
When SUGARLAND first made it big, they played in BATTLE CREEK, MICHIGAN, my wife and I got sixth row seats. KATHY was too weak to stand up during the concert due to breast cancer, so I remained seated with her to hold her hand. Everyone else was standing, when through all the people I noticed a flicker, it was a guitar pick landing in my lap! I know it was a sign from above! She has since left her pain behind, but I just LOVE hearing this song, I feel her near me! THANK YOU SUGARLAND!
I dated this girl in high school named Holly, back in 2007. We dated for over 5 years. We planned on get married, have kids and live in the suburbs. In 2013 day her cousin called me crying saying that she got in a car accident with her parents. I rushed to the hospital as fast as I could. I didn't make it in time. She died in the ambulance on the way to the hospital due to internal bleeding. This was her favorite song! I haven't listen to this song in a very long time, but every time I listen to it, it brings tears to my eyes. She's watching over me I know it

That's really sad, but its important to enjoy every minute in life, don't dwell on what will be missed, but remember the times you were lucky enough to share with someone that made you feel loved. I'm a guy, but this song still shoots straight through my heart. My mom and dad paid so I could go to university. I went to study in Germany in 2010. I graduated and got a degree in economics in 2013. Fast forward to 2017 and I was a car salesman, had my own business... a small gardening/ cleaning company and a Saturday job as a truck driver. My parents retired in 2017. My dad's 60th birthday was in March 2017 and my mom's 60th birthday was in August. My parents always told me the only gift they want is me coming home. That saying always left a lump in my throat. I came home on vacation for my mom's birthday (surprise) and I gave my parents some gifts I had worked my butt off for. Got my mom a gold watch and a designer handbag and for my dad - a 5m fishing boat with a 100hp engine, a trailer for the boat and an old Nissan Navara pickup truck I patched up, he'd use to tow the boat to the lake. My mom cried tears of joy, but what got me was my dad all teary eyed. I've only seen him cry once before... when his dad died. When I arrived after a 2000km drive in that pickup with the boat hooked to the back, he gave me a big hug and had tears in his eyes. I'm man enough to say I also had tears in mine. We went fishing on that same evening. We didn't catch anything, but doing a little something for my parents after they had done so much for me felt right! Love your parents and show them you care, cause they ain't gonna last forever.

I’ve been a college student for 6 years for a 4 year degree and struggled and scraped by the whole time. There was once or twice I had to ask for money because I couldn’t afford rent or groceries but I finally graduated this year and now make enough money to send back home to my amazing parents. I haven’t heard it in years but it came on the radio the other day and really hit close to home. I’ve been a college student for 6 years for a 4 year degree and struggled and scraped by the whole time. There was once or twice I had to ask for money because I couldn’t afford rent or groceries but I finally graduated this year and now make enough money to send back home to my amazing parents. I love you more than anything in the world mom and dad.
I used to HATE being called the "baby" all the way through childhood into my early adult years.... but I'm so sorry that special label was wasted on my youth as I would certainly give a million to hear that from my parents today.
My daughter is now married 4 years to a great guy after her 5 years of college and when this song first started playing on CMT, I remember calling to her through our home so she could see the video, yes it was that new, and telling her that these cats were going to be huge because of the raw talent....
Fast forward many years later and after catching them in Greensboro, NC and a couple other concerts they're still great....and I feel that my daughter is a better Person, wife, and Chemist/CSI, because of these down to earth hard working folks.
