I got one for free a few months ago from my neighbor. She’s at 77.5k miles and is still running good. Only thing I’ve had to change was the alternator. Good car
It is a very good car that has quality and is reliable. I wish they would test these cars with an automatic transmission instead of a manual transmission!
I've had like 10 of these and have never seen a 1.8 manual sedan and 13 in rims at the same time. And that steering wheel is the first time i have seen 1. Weird.
Dude, I've had 4 of them going on to a 5th one, I've never seen one with rear disc brakes and 13 inch wheels at the same because if you try it, you know the rear calipers hit the wheels and won't bolt on, also never seen one with ABS, and I'm talking about both 4G15 and the 4G93 cars, and never seen a black one unless it's an Evo, the steering wheel I've seen on different Asian market cars, mostly Malaysia and Thailand, but it's kinda rare, and the RPM cluster that reads MPH instead of kilometers is beyond rare, several years ago there were 2 listed on eBay, I bought one for my car, the other one sold and I haven't seen another one since.
John almost-kinda-sorta predicted the Lancer Evo with that introduction. Also, this seems about as negative as any MW review I've seen. Maybe consider this car a bunt from Mitsu. The previous Colts and Mirages offered compelling features along with their hit or miss quality. This is just a meh on wheels.
In the US yes, these cars had a disposable nature to them, I agree with you there, but in other parts of the world these cars stood the test of time and they are still around, matter of fact, I've had 4 of them, that's how much I like them, and it's unfortunate they never caught on in the US because I swear up and down these cars are every bit as good as a Honda Civic, I'm currently on my 4th one that I'm doing an Evo 3 conversion on and I'm looking for a 5th to use as a daily.
This is a basically a Lancer worldwide, in the U.S it's called the Mirage, we still have ours that looks exactly like this with the same interior, exterior, engine and gearbox, the new Mirage is the real Mirage.

I love how these resemble the Evo somewhat
Aired during the Barney pledge drive, I see.
In Malaysia marketed as Proton wira

I drive a 2000 de and I love it yeah I need to fix it a little bit. but I wish I had more of a reputation
Thanks for these take back videos!
Very beautiful and great car
I never liked the hatchback at that time and I was glad when they roundedly redesigned the mirage
I Like Lancer Style from the Philippines.
In Europe this was the Mitsubishi Lancer CA0!
I had one myself as a Lancer GLXi 1.6 16V with 113hp. Great machine this was.

These are also unkillable engines aside from Honda's B series & Toyota E engines. There are still a handful of old Lancers in our country tho
Older models with the hatchback were great cars

I don’t know what was negative about the review. It’s an honest car and an honest review
Didn't seem that negative. The 82 Cimarron was negative. Their early episodes were not afraid to criticize
This is a blast from the past that mostly nobody would want today. Poverty on wheels.

The 93 is much better than the most recent ones. 0 to 60 is pretty fast for that 93
Speak for yourself.
Looks like a Mazda Protege!
you could build this chassis into an evo
Yup, and it's really easy too, I'm currently gathering parts to build an Evo 3 tribute car
@@redchris97 do you have instagram for your build? i’ve been wanting to do it but i think i’m finally gonna pull the plug
i see lots of peeps resurrecting these vehicles as project cars
It looks like an lancer… what?!
Mitsubishi lancer 1999
92&113hp... today's Mirage can't even boast of 80hp. Plus it looks much smaller than this.

Mitsubishi Mirage is beautiful and durable car
Great cars; get rid of the stupid manual transmission.
