Hi Courtney, I drove a semi for 17 years from 1995-2012 when I was diagnosed with vertigo and have not really done anything since. I did get a job as a CSR for USCIS but it was 35 miles away and having vertigo it was hard to drive the 70 miles a day. So I built an office and was going to do CSR at home but everyone wants you to have a 5 meg upload speed I only have a 1.4 meg upload. So I have nothing to do all day just sit at home and either watch TV or play computer games. My wife, God Bless Her, had to go back to work as a nurse which she hates and has been working there for the last 5 years. We our lucky I use to make 80k+ a year with FedEx Freight our house is paid off so the bills are not that bad. My friend just said a couple days ago you should check out Freight Broker since you have experience in the trucking industry and use to be in computer/furniture sales. So here I am. I think being an agent would probably be best because you have a business already setup and ready to go. My goal is to get 5-10 loads a day and since I have nothing else to do it should be an obtainable goal.
Hi Stew, that is an obtainable goal. Since you have sales experience it will help and you should do well. The hardest part about brokering is getting your shippers. Good luck
@@BumbleBeeDispatch Hi, currently I'm a flatbed driver seriously thinking about freight brokerage, mainly to be home with wife and kids, I don't just want to stop doing flatbed. In your opinion is doing both realistic?
Enjoy your videos and content. Thank you 🙏🏼 Can a freight broker have dispatchers handling the Admin / carrier packets / coordinating the load / invoice, BOL, payment etc., while (me) the broker focuses on getting freight from new customers? You were spot-on with your Chic-Fil-a example. Customer service is impeccable!
So would being a frieght broker be for only semitruck 54' drivers, I'm trying to start my own expediting company although I'm not trying to drive semitrucks/54' I'm just planning on owning a box truck that can be driven with a class c license and only be making local deliveries, but I will be getting a class A cdl license just to have it. Will I have to become a broker to get together with companies to ship out there orders, the companies are old jobs I use to have. I thought all I'd have to do was get LLC, my business license, insurance, my dot number. And certain apps to make tracking easy, but I'm unsure if I need to become a broker to be able to be a companies personal expeditor, thanks in advance
I have a question I have called warehouse to see how they book there load they all told me they post there load on a website.. alot of them don't want to deal with a broker so they post on websites.
No you don't need a broaker if you have your authority but many people rather ca a broaker and they deal with finding a company instead of you (the shipper) calling a small company and asking them but they don't have a truck in your area for next 5 days so you have to call someone else and or 5 other companies so its more convenient for shippers to call a broaker but if you have your own authority you can take loads direct without a crappy broaker most broakers are crooks and as a company its better for you to build relationships with shippers and get recommendations from other shippers that you worked with because most of the time broakers ripp you off with 25% or more
Great info 🙏🙏

Some shippers post loads on load boards as well. However, not all shippers

What is a reputable Broker school that you suggest?

@@BumbleBeeDispatch LOL...of course!!
I own my own truck company I'm tired of playing the middle man.
If you have your own authority, try to get setup directly with shippers
Someone told me to try macrae blue book.
Express entry visa right
If your not good at bs, cheat and stealing don't become a broker..cause thats all they do
