When I was in the military, I had seen hyenas that were trained up as good if not better than I had seen dogs trained and used. PLus there was the whole psychological effect, where instead of seeing a man armed with an AK47 and a dog, seeing him with something that is supposed to be a wild animal is a thing in itself. Anyways, its probably a blend, but I wouldn't be surprised to hear they had real hyenas doing this.
I don't understand why this film is so focused on Harley's freedom from the Joker when there was barely any establishing relationship with her and the Joker in Suicide Squad.

Because of one trailer? Sometimes trailers can deceive us we have to wait until the movie comes out and see if it really is about their ended relationship and even if it is I don't blame them since she was the breakout star of suicide squad and birds of prey is just an excuse to make a movie about her with supporting characters
To be fair, Harley Quinn’s on again off again, somewhat abusive relationship with the Joker is a big part of the character in other representations of the character, they just haven’t really done much to establish it in the movies.
Harley's relationship was definitely a big part of her character in Suicide Squad, even if we hardly saw them together outside of flashbacks. She spends the whole movie pining for him and is rescued by him in the end, so I don't see how you can say "there was barely any establishing relationship".
While that's technically true, the few scenes that _did_ establish them as having a relationship were extremely direct, and unlike any comic book instance or most animation takes, the Joker seemed to genuinely have similar feelings for Harley. All comic and cartoon (and game) instances that I can think of depicting their "dynamic" always showed Harley being completely obsessed with the Joker, delusionally convinced that he loves her just as much as she loves him, and the Joker himself manipulating Harley and using her as a tool that he couldn't care less about.

Its not as bad as giving a generic teenage character the name Cassandra Cain and having her seem to be a meek and timid character who needs the fucking protection of Harley Quinn really. Why even call a character Cassandra Cain if she's gonna have literally nothing to do with the actual character from the comics. Who's a young girl who's father trained her to become an assassin by making sure she never learned who to talk or read or write. And instead had to rely on learning how to read body language which made her into one of the best fighters in all of comic books. Due to the fact that she can read peoples moves. She's mute and never says a word until later on in her comics where she learns how to.

The Zsasz in Gotham is just amazing. I love just how likable he is despite being a crazy ass serial killer. Although since that was still the early days of that Batman universe I don't think he was simple just a serial killer. As what made him likable besides his humor was that you never saw him kill just random ass innocent people like the one in the comics and games does. Instead he was a assassin who worked for the Falcon family and then later Penguin and then back to Falcon. He still would cut himself every time he killed someone but we only ever saw him kill people who he was hired to.
Hes a great actor who nailed the role, even if his portrayal of zsasz isnt faithful to the comics. Hes pretty great in the tv show Barry, where he plays a similar role

Black Mask isn't even wearing his mask, they're probably gonna make it a big reveal for no reason instead of just making him like that from the beginning

@TheVirusSoftware I just hope they've learnt from Suicide Squad as far as the actual movie goes. They're clearly willing to go over the top comic booky as previously seen in Aquaman and Shazam.
Well this trailer highlighting Harley Quinn is pretty knarly. Seeing the different phases especially with her costumes through each scene of the trailer says she looking for a definitive identity. The team-up with Helena Bertinelli, Renee Montoya, Dinah Lance and with Cassandra Cain joining the crazy pack says lots of mayhem to come. Ewan McGregor's Roman Sionis reminds me of his underrated performance in Jane Got a Gun playing a conniving Bounty Hunter who has this obsession that he just can't let go and the tease to his look with the white coat, pants from the comics is nicely teased in this trailer. Even the False face society showing up says their is more destruction to come along. I want to see a Star Wars pun in Harley Quinn with Roman Sionis saying to her "It's over Harley, I have the higher ground". You also have a John Wick Easter Egg with the scene when Harley Quinn breaks the Knee caps of one of the bosses during the nightclub scene. The actor in that scene is Daniel Bernhardt. He appeared in the first John Wick film when he fought John Wick at the Russian Nightclub while he was hunting Yousef Tarasov.
Cassandra Cain as far as I'm concerned isn't in this film. As she talks in this film and need the fucking protection of Harley Quinn and others and seems to be meek and timid. The real Cassandra Cain is one of the best fighters in the entire DC universe being able to read peoples movements and doesn't know how to speak until much later on in her solo series. She also becomes the 4th Batgirl. Yet nothing I have heard indicates that the Cassandra Cain in this film has literally anything in common with the one from the comics. Which then why even name the character that. All your gonna do is anger fans of Cassandra Cain like myself by throwing out literally everything that made the character so loved in the first place. The real Cassandra Cain would never need to run to Harley Quinn for help. The real Cain would take out Black Mask and his entire operation on her own.

I'm glad Ewan MacGregor is playing the, "antagonist." He's such a brilliant actor and the, "Bad guys," are usually the most interesting roles in most films. 👍

He was really great in the second season of Fargo where he played twin brothers neither of them were really what you would call bad guys. One was just a successful business man who just ends up getting way over his head working with bad men. And the other is kind of a loser who scams people and commits other such crimes to earn his money. But both of them were really well developed characters and his performance was great. I also loved him in the movie The Men Who Stare and Goats.

As people who have seen a cut of the film say that he plays a flamboyantly gay character who's either motivation boils down to him having a diamond taken from him that inside has a flash drive that contains Dick Pics of him that if they went public would out him as a gay man which would ruin his reputation. Like I would be more than fine with him playing a gay character but not one that wants to stay in the closet despite being flamboyant about it. And is only after the "Birds of Prey" because they have dick pics of him. Also they ruined the comic character Cassandra Cain who's a mute assassin and one of the best fighters in all of comics. Yet in this film she's described as a chubby teenage girl who talks a lot and has no combat skills. So nice job at assassinating the 4th female to wear the Batgirl custom. By taking away everything that makes her great and turning her into a generic and annoying teenage girl who needs to the protection of Harley Quinn.

I really hope that this movie is good. Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Ewan McGregor are both actors that I’m a fan of so hopefully they’ll each have good performances in this.

No they literally lose every single round for the fact that they have a character in this filmed named Cassandra Cain who seems to be a generic teenage character who ends up getting in way over her head and needing the protection of Harley Quinn and the others. When Cassandra Cain is a fucking badass who needs no protection from anyone being one of the best fighters in the entire DC universe who was trained to read body movements by her father instead of speech. So she's mute for much of her solo run until she learns how to speak. And she becomes the 4th Batgirl. So why the fuck do they have a character with the exact same name in this film yet has literally nothing in common with Cassandra Cain. She would never need the protection of fucking Harley Quinn or anybody else when the only people after her are Black Mask and Zsasz both of them would be so easy for Cassandra Cain to take down.
They literally could have given this character any generic name in the world but instead they decide to give her the same name of a much beloved badass bat family character. Yet take away everything that makes her such a badass and compelling character.

@@jacobaarum Yea but the thing is this is the same age that Cain became Batgirl she was a young teenage girl as Batgirl. So if we still haven't met Babara then what is Cain gonna become Batgirl in her late 40's. Also her arc has nothing to do with her becoming a great fighter as that was what she was trained to be from birth she was introduced as a badass. The appeal of her arc was her learning how to have a life learning how to make friends how to finally learn how to talk, read and write. Trying to figure out if what she wanted in life was to basically become Batman and have her life revolve around his mission or if she wanted something else for herself. People liked that she was a badass but loved her for learning how to be more human. You won't get any of that if she starts out as a typical teenager saying Bitch and being buddy buddy with Harley. And then just has some generic montage of training to be a great fighter.

@@manstonhisk667 I could be honest, I’d say DC not only has better villains, but better heroes as well. Not saying Marvel heroes suck in the slightest, but when people say “they’re humans and DCs are gods” I just die of full-blown cringe hearing it. People seem to forget that Dr. Strange, Drax (classic age), Silver Surfer, Wolverine, Odin, Ghost Rider, Cable, Jean Grey, and other people exist. And it’s not just power-wise, Marvel can’t and shouldn’t just be humans. You’ve got Gamora, Rocket & Groot, Thor, Beta Ray Bill, Galactus, Thanos, etc. People seem to forget that Marvel villains have a lot more alien then heroes, which imo needs more balance (*cough Thanos). And this perspective is from someone who wants a personality that is fit for them, and not completely ruined by writers, so I won’t talk about “realism” or “realistic”.
What I’m saying is, is this DC does a better job at keeping a character in its core personality (except for Starfire who became a slut, Batman, who’s sanity is questionable). Look at the Flash. He stands out because he’s always been the good noodle. He’s never had a dark side willingly, and even when he became the God of Death, he chose to do good and only good. And in Injustice, he was the one person who realized that the Regime is wrong. No one else except Barry.
Then you go to Marvels side. Take Cyclops for example. They slaughtered his character. He went from gentleman, leader, fighter, and core X Men member, to psychotic mutant spokesman, backstabbing cheater, douchebag, and murder. And it’s because of that, he’s Marvels most hated character. Or another example like She Hulk. She killed it in the classic age, showing that unlike Bruce Banner, she actually takes pride in her Hulk form. But then retcon after retcon, she became a complete slut part of the time, which made it even more unbearable to read. Or take Quicksilver? They turned the quippy traitor of Magneto to the creep obsessed with his sister. DC has still kept its word with its characters. Red Hood is still gun toting Batman who wants crime gone, Raven is still a character who wants to see the good in her friends with her empathy, Aquaman is still the humble king of Atlantis, etc. The big changes are in powers, since most reboots can either upgrade or water down a character.
@@Comic3247 I was really unimpressed by the trailer, BUT this video has improved my opinion by taking time to look at individual shots. Based on this, the movie looks like it might be good (has a bit of a Batman '66 feel!), even though the trailer was a hack job.

I believe the original cut did not have Sionis in the mask. They added it in reshoots. Same with Huntress.

I hope they do Black Canary Justice. I really enjoy Katie Cassidy’s version on Arrow where she has the metahuman cry maybe reference Green Arrow too but don’t cast a Green Arrow just yet we need a few years between the end of Arrow and a new version of the character in the movies. I think Stephen Amell’s portrayal should be honored as to not be immediately replaced by a new version.

@HicksZ34 You might not fall asleep just by how absurd the movie might be. As I have read confirmed reports from multiple articles from people who have seen a cut of the film. Where the plot is about Black Mask trying to cover up the fact that he's gay. And that the film does a terrible job depicting a gay man as they have him being very flamboyant. And the reason that Black Mask is after all of them is because some girl who I refuse to call Cain as she's nothing like the comic version of the character. But she swallows a diamond that inside of it has a flash drive that contains Dick Pics of Black Mask that would expose him to be gay. And that he goes after them at all costs due to not wanting the pictures to be made public. Honestly if that's the legit plot of the final cut then I don't have much hope for this film. As like I said they already completely got wrong Cassandra Cain character. But if they also get Black Mask and the other villain Zsasz wrong then I don't think many people will enjoy this film. As Black Mask should be a crime boss not a night club owner and Zsasz should always be a crazy serial killer not some henchmen that is physically attracted to Black Mask.

Jared Leto is a GREAT ACTOR and his joker design is COOL and MODERN original, SURE it isnt what we're used to it ISNT SUPPOSED TO BE, his portrayal was never given a full chance to be received bc he was in a total of 8 minutes of screen time after being all the hype of the trailers two years in advance. I really Hope he's given another shot for the role and DCEU they cnT AFFORD to throwaway passionate and good talent. Twist it so hes an insane Tim Drake or Jason Todd like everyone thought originally in the name of Joaquins new Joker which HE did great too just give me everything MAKE IT WORK DC

There is definitely going to be comic fans who are going to be bothered by harley taking a large chunk of the focus in this movie especially considering she has never been a member of the birds of prey in the comics. Is it possible they had originally planned for that josh whedon batgirl movie to ahead and have her helm this movie instead?
I kinda hope they go the Legion route and use the singing scene(s) as a way to show Harley's madness
The Monroe scene could also be a nod to Madonna who did Monroe and they should have just called it Harle and the Birds of prey.
