    Hello Im JP .
    I am torn between this product and Lewitt Connect6 and others.
    The way I use it is as a mic preamp for sm7b when I do Discord calls with friends and streaming.
    I am unfamiliar with it and would prefer the Connect6, including the fact that I can't configure it in detail, but would you mind if I ask your opinion?

      @@バンザム both are great interfaces! I think the iD14 wins for music production, on the hardware side and for people who prefer console style preamps. However, for things like Discord calls / streaming, I would go with the Connect 6 because the included Control Center software and its “Auto-Setup” feature makes recording super easy. In addition, it provides 72db of gain which is more than enough to power any mic.
      Here is my review of it so you can decide for yourself: th-cam.com/video/sG5_qyZfMaw/w-d-xo.html
      Hope it helps! 😊

    I bought the original iD14 because of the audio quality and expandability for a home studio... I can see how if you are a content creator with great need for up front processing and mixing for live programming, that this machine won't fit those needs. However, if you want pristene audio and ease of use for studio work, I love this machine... I set up my cue mix for recording and then with the press of a button, I'm back to the main mix for listening... I do like all the new features on the MKII but the sound quality is basically the same, so I'm gonna hold on to my 4 year old original... The interface I might upgrade to is the ID24 which has inserts for processing and a true line level input for external preamps and other line devices...

      @@DWHarper62 it’s a great interface for sure! I really liked the console style preamps. However if you already own the first generation, unless you really want the upgraded converters on the mkii, then keep the first gen.
      Not gonna lie, i know it has nothing to do with sound quality but I really like the space gray better than the old silver model though.

    How can I turn off the microphone sound when recording so that it cannot be heard on the headset?

    • @homestudioacademy
      @homestudioacademy  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@aaliennn you can either mute your audio track in your DAW/recording software or mute the microphone input on the iD Mixer software by clicking the “M” button.

    An honest review. Well done! I'd love to see YOUR review of Apollo X4 if you could get your hands on one of those.

      @@VIDSInsight thank you so much! 😊 I’ve already done a review of the Apollo Twin X
      th-cam.com/video/E-4PdvJZ6eY/w-d-xo.html . The X4 is very expensive and since I don’t use more than two inputs, don’t have plans to review it anytime soon. The X4 has the same preamps of the X, just more input/output channels.

    The mic preamp gain of the audient id14 mk2 is 66 DB not 58 no?

    Audient id14 vs ssl 2+ which one is better?

    • @homestudioacademy
      @homestudioacademy  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@priyanshuprakash290 I haven’t tested the SSL so unfortunately I can’t say anything about it. However, I really enjoyed recording with the iD14 and think it’s a great 2 channel interface. My suggestion would be to watch a comparison video between both to decide for yourself.
