That’s awesome
Nice Job Good video Thanks
Thanks, let me know if you want to see any more
@@joe_preston Hi Joe Thanks for the reply I Was just intrigued to see a bale spike on a flatbed not some thing we see in England
@@DJC995 Yes, we are a little more spread out, I've got stuff 10 miles from home both directions.
Do you think you could use a winch in place of the cylinder?
You could with some springs to help flip the spikes down when it is empty.
Nice I’m about to start the same project, bake bed prices are too dang high
What did you do to keep the hinge pin in place from coming out? @Joe Preston
I tacked them to the end of the pipe, you could put an angle iron tab in as well.
How much you charge to install on my flatbed?
Very good thanks I saw enough to get what I need from it looks 👌
If you have questions let me know and I'll make a follow-up video.
@@joe_preston thanks I appreciate it
How long is your 4×4 tubing and how much from the side did you come in for your spheres
38" or however wide fits between the frame rails, come in 2" or 3" to the center of your spike holes.
What pump and cyclinder to you use
12v pump, 4x12" cylinder, I added links to the description
I would have liked to have seen what you welded to on the frame of the bed
Are you talking the front mount for the cylinder or the rear hinge section?
@@joe_preston yes
Front
@@joe_preston cylinder where it hooks to front of frame of bed
@@richardmiller4021 at 3:34 you can see the eye and plate at the front of the cylinder. I welded that to a cross-member and ran an angle iron brace forward to the gooseneck well.
What did you mount the back of your cylinder to?
And where did you get your pump from
I used a 1" plate with a cylinder pin hole welded to a cross member along with a brace to the gooseneck well. Pump link in the description.
Did you have to notch out your cross members for the cylinder to fit
@@sethbohannon7111 I did the back one for sure. I'll have it on the lift this weekend and make a follow-up video
Good I’d like to see it
what was the size of the hydraulic cylinder
Travis 1- 4x12" 1.5" rod
How did you make your hinges?
They are 1" round bar inside some pipe that had a 1.05" Internal size.
That’s awesome
