For the skeptics, it is just an automatic siphon, like the one that empties the toilet bowl. The tube in the pond has a check valve on it (the slotted cone) that lets water in the long tube when he pushes down on it and keeps the water in the tube when it is pulled up. Pumping the tube eventually gets it filled with water. The enemy of a siphon is air. All the shaking, tipping, etc is to get the air out of the assembly so the siphon action can take place. The 45 angle and the 90 off the pond pipe form a U-siphon (look it up!). When water gets to that location and tumbles over, it creates a vacuum in the short horizontal pipe between the angle pieces which pulls the next bit of water over the top. As long as air doesn't get in, that vacuum continues to pull water up and over. Gravity helps get it to the output. The wider tube helps create a lower pressure area, encouraging the water flow to continue. It's physics. It looks magical or fake until you understand that. The siphon will empty the lake. When air gets in the slotted cone and rises up to the horizontal piece, it ruins the vacuum and the siphoning stops. Small siphons like this (bell siphons) are used to empty media beds in aquaponics. The horizontal piece is set at the height the owner wants the siphon action to start.
If any of this were true, we wouldn't have Dams, and our energy crisis would be solved. Make up all the little physics rules you want, but you can not get something for nothing. This contraption is clearing pulling water from a lower elevation to a higher one using its own gravity. That is impossible. Siphoning only works if the discharge is lower than the intake, nice try though.
Mr. Cover claims that the inlet flowrate is 500 m3/hr, and the outlet flowrate is 350 m3/hr. It's not correct. The inlet and outlet flowrates should be the same. It is a law of continuity.
How difficult would it be to add a cylinder blocker on a chain below the output to pull, then block off the opening to suck the water through instead of pumping the entire contraption with your arms? Amazing idea though thank you so so much for sharing!
My thought was that you put a tee at the top of the intake and pour water in to fill the journeyways and the close off the top of the tee to maintain your siphoning effect 🤷♂️🤔???

I think It will only work if the water level is above the exit level, and water pressure would push the water out. In this system, if it works, it may be for limited time, until the forces balance out. Seems interesting, I am curious to build one. If it woks indefinitely it would be a good electric generator from the falling water.

Still appreciate that the guy’s got 7.7M views on the internet. His hardware might defy physics, but the man knows how to get paid for making a viral video!
Wow, these guys are brilliant video editors - quite flawless I might say. I'd like to learn how to edit videos like this. Thing though is, while he's trying to prime the unit, somewhere around 3:25, if you observe the cows in the background, one cow magically jumps from its friends and appears further to the left; could that be what is called time travelling?

Is it just acting as a syphon? I think once you got it primed (once the water is filled up to the highest point it creates suction as it fall down into the first big tube.) As long as the outlet is lower than that highest point, I believe this would work, as there is a pressure head due to the height difference of the two top pipes. Pretty cool.
@@rafaelbarreto5833 I completely disagree. The outlet must be lower than the highest part of the closed system. Pretend we have a small piece of hose and we are trying to drain a pool. One end of the hose(inlet) can be at the bottom of the pool. If we hang to hose over the side of the pool, and only down half way on the outside. I can still suck on the outlet to creating the negative pressure necessary to draw the water up and over the side of the pool. Once gravity takes over, it creates its own vacuum due to the falling water.
@@boblee37 In the case of your example I agree with you that the water would flow, but that is because the water level in the pool is higher than the outlet height, therefore doesn't matter if the hose is at the bottom or at the top of the pool, as long it is under water. Nevertheless, in the case of the video the outlet is clearly higher than the water level in the lake.
No, as a Syphon has to have a lower output than input causing more weight of water on the output side. The higher weight due to gravity will suck the water from the higher side. This can't work in the opposite direction as they are pretending it does here.
@@boblee37 The output end of the hose will need to be lower than the depth of the hose in the pool. If you lift the output side to the level of the hose in the pool the water will stop flowing. This is called the point of equilibrium.
Nice cut at 8 seconds. Edit: Oh, I see the second time you play the clip you cut it. I'm guessing you've either got a submersible pump in the first big PVC tube, or someone connected a hose to it off to the right-hand side as you were kick-starting it. I expect it to be a pump because I don't see ripples in the water. Edit 2: Okay, I see the lack of hose at the end. It's possible the fitting you used is concealing something but it's looking more like an internal pump.
@@observer950 Nope. There's way too much water coming out for it to be siphoned out of the bigger chambers, and you'd expect it to slow down as they empty. Also at 3:10 he puts a pipe on the end and the water continues moving. That's not how siphons work. What's actually seeming to happen is he primes the pump by ramming the contraption into the water and then it can pump until he takes it out again.
The teleporting cow at 3:20 over his right shoulder is all I needed to see… plus for a siphon you need to have a drop from input to output, if this was real why not have 1000x of them on generators pumping out free electric without the use of a massive dam creating the elevation difference?

I think It will only work if the water level is above the exit level, and water pressure would push the water out. In this system, if it works, it may be for limited time, until the forces balance out.
Seems interesting, I am curious to build one. If it woks indefinitely it would be a good electric generator from the falling water.
It would basically be a perpetual motion machine if it worked.
If the inlet is alawys under water and no debris block it, it should work unstopdly. It's a simple hydraulics principle called gravity pump.
@@ulissesbertoldo No it's not. A gravity pump has an energy input, this has none.
I'm happy unlike the older times the comments have people who immediately point out this is a scam. This is really sad as it's misguiding people who may not be educated

Wow, these guys are brilliant video editors - quite flawless I might say. I'd like to learn how to edit videos like this. Thing though is, while he's trying to prime the unit, somewhere around 3:25, if you observe the cows in the background, one cow magically jumps from its friends and appears further to the left; could that be what is called time travelling?

a new project, you have helped a lot of people without electricity to still pump water but scientists don't know, you have invalidated the laws of physics, your project should be awarded an international award, you make the water column higher than 3m, then run a generator, get free electricity and sell it to households for money, you just need to pump a few, soon become a billionaire.
And you don't need to push in to water, whatever water comes out. You just need one switch to charge water to fuel. 🤣

The entire device did not remain in the video frame for the entire time. Hard to say if this magician wasn't doing other things with helpers outside of the camera view.
Is it just acting as a syphon? I think once you got it primed (once the water is filled up to the highest point it creates suction as it fall down into the first big tube.)
As long as the outlet is lower than that highest point, I believe this would work, as there is a pressure head due to the height difference of the two top pipes.
Pretty cool.
No, it wouldn't work since the outlet is higher than the inlet. For it to be a syphon the opposite should be true, outlet lower than the inlet.
Idiot it's a foot valve at the end it's a simple siphoning
@@observer950 Nope. There's way too much water coming out for it to be siphoned out of the bigger chambers, and you'd expect it to slow down as they empty. Also at 3:10 he puts a pipe on the end and the water continues moving. That's not how siphons work. What's actually seeming to happen is he primes the pump by ramming the contraption into the water and then it can pump until he takes it out again.
Bernauli principle says inlet discharge and out let discharge is equivalent but the pressure is different. But I admire your talent

The battery is in the "pressure tank" and the pump is in the "inlet tank", with wires running through the pipe. He only has to prime it for it to go.

Fake
The teleporting cow at 3:20 over his right shoulder is all I needed to see… plus for a siphon you need to have a drop from input to output, if this was real why not have 1000x of them on generators pumping out free electric without the use of a massive dam creating the elevation difference?
