the biggest complaints that I've heard about The model B is that the motor gets very hot and it squeaks loudly.
a fan and a few drops of oil will take care of both problems.
The motor gets very hot so I put the 4" fan as close to the motor as possible. it is mounted on double sided tape.
The fan has low and high speed. I run it on high speed all the time. This makes a huge difference in the temperature of the motor.
cleaning the barrel is explained pretty well in the video.
Cleaning the metal base is pretty simple. clean so it looks good. I believe adding a very thin layer of oil on the surface of all metal parts. Unless the oil will cause parts to slip and not rotate correctly.
The nylon bushing itself dies not need oil. under the bushing needs oil.
On the base, keep the rubber parts and the belt drive clean and oil free.
clean all of old black oil off the tumbler.
add a few drops of new oil under the nylon bushings and a drop or two to the motor shaft. care full to not get oil inside the motor on the copper coils.
you Model B should last a very long time. If some of the parts wear out or break, most parts are available online.

What do you think of the Rebel 17 vs the model B?
I hate to admit, because it's made in China but the rebel 17 is better. It's Quieter and requires less maintenance. And I'd bet it will last longer

I had to replace the lid gasket on my model b
The old one was kind of stuck on when I removed it.
The new one leaks.
Am I supposed to put adhesive on the new gasket?
If so, how much?
Ensure that the gasket and all contact points with the gasket are completely clean and free of rock dust buildup. If you still have leaks, check for dents in the metal.
No adhesive is necessary.

I think I must have tightened it down too much.
Loosened it up and added a little bit of vaseline on the seals
So hopefully It'll stop leaking now
I have this tumbler but the drive isnt lined up perfectly with the wheel- how do i fix this?
Use an allen wrench to loosen the drive shaft, realign then tighten back up
