Blues, Red and Purples…..all so beautiful. ❤️ What’s the secret project? The gravel bar looks like a great stitchy spot for me 😊

Lots of nice colors on this rockhounding excursion..
The project is to get a nice polished batch of similar rocks and give them to you to do something creative.
It would be a good stitching spot but you would not be willing to get there.

Would you be interested in swapping good hounding locations? ☺️ I’m in nova and am out every week hounding

This creek is beautiful, so nice to get out in nature, peaceful and grounding. Wow, what a gravel bar there! Nice to see Katana. Love those blue quartz finds! The purple is crazy beautiful! Nice petrified wood, and those pretty jasper colors really. I enjoyed this journey, thanks for the inspiration! I enjoyed how you walked around with your camera so we could see and look too, that was cool! Thanks RockHead!

Thank you for posting this video! My 3yo daughter and I have just started rock hounding recently and have both really enjoyed the experience. SE Va doesn’t seem to have much in the way of creek beds like I’ve seen in your videos, but we were going to try to strike it out near Richmond since it’s fairly close. Thank you again for inspiring!

      Hey Daniel,
Thank you for the kind comment. I'm glad you enjoy the videos. Rockhounding is a great way to bond with your kids.
Richmond Virginia is a great place to rockhound. It's on my to do list. I hear they have amazonite. A beautiful lite green rock.
SE Virginia is not known for great rockhounding but I hear it's good for fossil hunting.
Good luck on the Richmond trip.

Have you confirmed the blue is Quartz? I ask because I have been finding this here in Indiana for a few years it is mostly blue spots on host rocks. But almost an electric blue look. I have yet to identify it because it is only small spots not enough to do a Specific Gravity test on.

    • @virginiarockhead237
      @virginiarockhead237  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Yes What am finding is definitely Blue quartz. Blue quartz can be found all up and down the east coast but it us not common. It is in abundance in Virginia. It's commonly referred to as Virginia blue quartz.

The hope diamond 🤣. I have an entire shed full of pretty cool rocks. I plan on doing a saw video soon. Right now I'm in the process of moving.
      Step 1, finish moving
Step 2, rockhounding video because they're the most fun
      Step 3, saw video
      Step 4, tumbler progress check
      Thanks for watching and commenting
