I love watching you decorate you really help me with ideas I did a neighborhood fair today and everyone loved the cookies thanks to you and all of you videos I sold about 150 cookies
Oh my goodness, that's so awesome!! Congratulations!! I'm so happy for you and I'm sure everyone was happy to get their hands on some beautiful cookies 😁❤
@@LittleCookieCo I love your tutorials…but I am having the most difficult time getting my icing to turn brown. It’s mahogany. I’m using the americolor chocolate brown and sunny side up ivory. When I started with the chocolate- it turned pink….I’ve added almost the entire bowl, and it’s still no where near brown. What am I doing wrong?
It could be the ivory maybe? Or sometimes I know some colours have issues can be defected from what I've heard. Have you tried just the chocolate brown on its own? Have you added enough colour to the icing? Did the colour deepen over time?
@@LittleCookieCo I wound up using almost the entire bottle of chocolate brown- and only added the ivory in the very beginning when the chocolate brown turned it pink. In the end, I had to add a pot of blue, and that finally turned it brown enough. Oh well 🤷🏻♀️
I wonder if you got a bad bottle. Was it Americolor? Just seems so strange it would take that much. If it was Americolor I'd try and reach out to them so they know. Sorry it didn't work!
You inspire me so much. I dicided to try decorate cookies for the first time yesterday. Found a cooky recipe, found a royal icing recipe. Did both and gave it a try. My husband was all OH! that's nice! But i found your videos after I was done and I did not dare to show your wonderfull cookies to my husband. I don't want tu burst his balloon that my cokies are beautifull. I so happy I found you, wish I did before I decorated 3 dozens of cookies.
Aww I'm so happy it has helped and more than happy to share all the info! I'm not the best or know it all but if it helps someone then I'm doing something right 😁 thank you!

@@LittleCookieCo Thank you! Until I found your channel I have only ever made & used white royal icing to decorate my homemade gingerbread cookies to eat and hang on our kitchen Christmas tree. This year the gingerbread people are getting jazzed up! So thank you for sharing your awesome talent & tutorials! 🏠🍭🏠
I love your videos! Your cookies a beautiful, but I specially appreciate how you describe your thought process as you decorate. You’re a wonderful teacher. How many “seconds count” for your outline and for your flood?
Thank you so much!! I'm so happy you enjoy them! I usually go by look to my icing, for my outline I like betweena soft and stiff peak. So it doesn't settle on its own (and that's great because I can use it for my details as well) and for my flood I like it to ribbon off the spoon nicely not too easy but not blob down either. Maybe about 8-10 seconds. I have an older video on this that may help, hoping to update it soon th-cam.com/video/yeXuOiMc-E4/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for this video! I need help with ideas and icing consistency. I'm a beginner beginner. I'm going to watch your other videos, too. Doing gingerbread boys and girls tomorrow for presents.

OMG! I love your tutorial on this happy family 😍😊🤗! I am not a skilled and talented baker like you, BUT there's always a first time for me😁I'm doing a gingerbread and candyland theme for this 2022 Christmas season for my granddaughter and I surely learned so much just watching your technique and reason for what you're doing. Thank you for teaching me and helping me plan out what I am going to do. Baking to practice for the pleasure of Christmas goodies 🤗😋! Also using your techniques for my faux cookies and decorating 😊🤗! Again, thank you so very much! Happy 2022 Christmas season! God bless you always!

Beautiful! I continue to struggle with icing consistency when using tipless bags to achieve that nice flow of icing when flooding a space. Your techniques are inspiring! Lovely💕👍
Thank you! Consistency is the hardest part. Half the battle is getting it right, the other half is how to work with it when it's not quite right! I have this video from a while back on the consistencies I like to use. I'm hoping to do an updated version soon but it may help a bit. th-cam.com/video/yeXuOiMc-E4/w-d-xo.html
I am now looking for some additional advice. I am committed to making cookies for an event. I ordered a custom cutter and stencil. I began the icing process and now realize that the stencil is a bit too large as the writing encompasses the entire outside edge of of the cookie. I’ve ordered a new stencil, but how do I preserve what I’ve iced? Can I freeze these, unfreeze later and add the additional icing from the stencil? I would appreciate any advice at this point to help in this situation.
Hi! Yes, you can definitely freeze them! Place them in an airtight container and freeze. If you want you can put parchment paper in between layers but it's not necessary. When you go to defrost them, make sure they are at room temperature before you open the container. If you open too soon they may develop condensation and the water could ruin the icing a bit!
Hi. What frosting will go well with actual ginger bread cookies? Your videos are fun to watch and very informative. I'm learning a lot and attempting to make Christmas cookies and ginger bread people cookies for the first time ever. Lol
Thank you so much!! These are actually sugar cookies and not acutal gingerbread cookies so I used my regular frosting with these. But I think any basic vanilla icing would go well with gingerbread! This is my icing that I use for all my cookies linked below... I hope you give give a try, it's a lot of fun to decorate cookies 😁 th-cam.com/video/L5mVKZnTqac/w-d-xo.html
Loved the video, very inspiring. However I do have a question, how long did you let the flood of the brown all over sit before adding additional details ?
Thank you! I use a dehydrator so it takes about half an hour but you can use a fan and it takes about 45 minutes or if you don't have a fan it can air dry and make take an hour or 2 depending on your environment!
First off. I am absolutely in love with watching your videos, so thank you. Question: does this icing stay soft in the middle I want to try my hand at making these for Christmas. I'm just wondering how far in advanced I can make them. Today is Dec 19th. Thank you so much
Thank you!!! I usually start making them about 4-5 days in advance because they take a while. It does fry hard but I would say still has a slightly soft bite the first week or so!!
Hi! I love your videos :) I'm going to use your Royal Icing recipe and was wondering how long I could store it in the freezer for? I was wanting to make the icing ahead of time and then bake cookies with my son and niece, who are both under 5. So it would help if I could do the icing ahead of time.
Thank you!! The icing is good for up to 6 months or so in the freezer so plenty of time! The icing is quick to make , it's the coloring and the consistency that takes a long time so it's a good idea to make in advance! I'm sure they will have an amazing time baking with you!
