I have the .44 Carbine , I got it and the matching 10/22 from my dad for Christmas in 1977 .. I was 10 yrs old. I still have them both and they are my prize possessions!
My dad has one. He got it new in the 60’s I believe. Shot it at a old car one time. Went thru trunk, back seat, front seat, dashboard, firewall and into motor. Great gun.
Back in the early 90s, a Mesquite, TX homeowner came home to find a burglary of his home in progress, something that had already happened several times. All three of the perps were ended gruesomely by the homeowner who had a .44 mag Deerfield in his truck when he pulled up. Made the front page above the fold in the Dallas Morning News. The grand jury no-billed him.

I found one brand new, still in wax paper while cleaning out a basement. They said I could take anything I wanted, rest was going in a dumpster. I really, really wanted it, but a family member saw it and snatched it up. Still think about that thing, they're worth over a grand easily now. Oh well, still found a bunch of other goodies. I don't feel too bad since it went to a family member, but still, I just wanted it because I thought it was cool more than the dollar value. If I want one bad enough, they're out there.

I think there's a huge hole in the market for a semi auto heavy caliber pistol cyber carbine that I wish someone would fill. The rounds, or a round, was too far forward in the magazine causing a failure to feed. By bumping the butt stock, the rounds moved to the rear of the magazine allowing the round’s tip to clear the feed ramp which in turn allowed the rounds to feed into the chamber correctly.
My first deer gun was the original Rugger 44 mag carbine when I was 9 years old. The original was a great gun but it had a problem. It was difficult to load and unload, especially with gloves on. The two newer models changed that by using the Ruger rotary magazine.
