This channel's content is really turning out great Jefe! Thanks for taking us on a ride along. Story wise, this has full arc from learning, training & all the way to enjoying the results of the skill - thats awesome to see!
Jefe this video brought back a lot of memories for me. I started bow hunting in 1973 with a recurve bow then in the mid eighties I went to a compound bow. In 1994 I went back to a recurve because I enjoyed shooting and hunting with a recurve over the compound bows. I shot a lot of 3D shoots over the years in Arizona and New Mexico. I was a member of a large Archery club in Tucson for twenty years so we had a lot of fun hunting and shooting archery tournaments. But I'm now almost 74 years old with more than a few physical challenges so I've had to hang up my bow and arrows. Your video was great and brought back a lot of good memories so I want to thank you for that and just keep doing what you are and I'll be watching all of them.
Hey Jefe. What a great, high-quality video. Beautiful scenery. The MORR editors did a excellent job editing. I am glad to see you enjoying retirement. Keep'em coming.
Jefe, this is great. Been watching Matt’s Off Road Recovery for quite awhile, but this is the kind of stuff that I love. Keep shooting that Bow, practice will make you better. Good Luck
Good job Jefe! Congrats on your first turkey and you even got to see some elk on your trip! Keep practicing with that bow and you'll be amazed at how good you'll get. You've got a great mentor in Tyler. He can get you where you want to be with that bow. And congrats Tyler on the win at the competition.
Outstanding. Well done on taking a turkey. Keep fine tuning your technique and getting your groups better. One of the things that I use to do is take my bow with me everywhere. I would have a few field arrows to donate to stump shooting. But, I would stop and get out of my truck and pick a target, pinecone, branch etc.. and shoot 1 arrow. That's called the money arrow. Getting use to shooting that way. I would also practice shooting only 5 arrows at any one time. I'm also a longbow hunter. no sights ... my outside range was 40 yards... so sneaking and peaking or waiting in ambush was my gig when hunting with a bow. Up close and personal...
I grew up in the Durango CO area, actually in Ignacio. I hunted all around the area, and I also went into the Bational Guard @ 17. Coming back to high school after was interesting to say yhe least. I spent 2 yeays in the Guard, then 10 years in the Regular Army. I got out after a fun filled tour in the sandbox called Desert Storm. I love your channel and am fascinated with the parallels.
Jefe this is a good video with awesome content and scenery shots. Always nice to go bow hunting and to tournaments with a friend. Nice of you to share your first wild turkey you cooked with Matt's family and team.
It's awesome you made your own channel! I'm also a fellow veteran, thank you for your service. My lady and I have followed Matt's channel since the beginning. You have always been one of our favorites there. We are happy we can still follow you on your channel! Thank you again for serving our country and protecting our families.
It is great to have a buddy like Tyler to help you build arrows and improve your technique. I did not see your calculation on forward weighting, everything else was excellent. I usually tune to 10%, anything from 9 to 12% is good. For broadheads I usually go 12 to 15%. Your 32" draw is on the high side yet your anchor point looked OK. Relax your left hand some more and keep practicing!
Wild turkey were reintroduced in SE Indiana in the early 80s and it was the 90s before their numbers were big enough to introduce a hunting season for them. All I know is the darn things could really get your adrenaline going when deer hunting. I'd hear a noise, and I could almost pinpoint where the deer was going to step into the clearing. And I'd wait, and wait. Then 20 turkeys would waddle out of the wood line.
I'm gonna tell you you can make a really good video I really like your videos. I didn't know if I was going to like him, but I'd love them. Thank you, and keep up the hard work
The way Tyler flips his wrist after every shot....... Is hilarious!!! Awesome episode Jefe!! Thanks for bringing me!! p.s. All love and respect brotha!!
I live in Durango next to the Animas River. Fun watching you guys travel in my neck of the woods. Hope the area treated you all well. 😊 Stay Blessed ~ PS. Elevation gain is no joke..drink lots of water..you did great !!
This looks like so much fun! I'm going to look in my area for the same kind of thing. I'm having a blast watching the channel, nice work! I can't wait for the next one
That was so fun! I didn't know there's that kind of shooting bow tournament, I thought they only shoot at the range. Great job on your first tournament!
Love your channel Jefe! Love archery hunting, unfortunately I ripped my right pectoral muscle near my shoulder, and I can no longer draw my bow. 1994 Hoyt Heat model, shooting 317 fps! I miss it immensely! Now I've had a stroke recently and I can't even drive my 77 Bronco, somebody doesn't like me!
I absolutely love Durango, CO. I had the best shower of my life in Durango after riding the Silverton RR all day. We then spent the next week camping at Pergotory. To get to the camping area we drove through the parking lot to a dirt road on the backside of the lot, then several miles up to the top. this was in 1996 so maybe the camping area is gone. That would be sad because it was an incredible place to camp. Awesome vacation.
I had no idea you were from Blanding. That's my home town too. 20 years ago my wife used to work at Clark's too. I was the San Juan County Fire Warden then moved to Saint George in 2006 to be the Washington County Fire Warden, then I moved to California and that's where I've been since. I go back to visit all the time, I was actually there when you went back for your Dad's service. We had our 20 year high school class reunion on the 4th. Sorry for your loss.
Also my wife and I were EMT's at the time, we remember your accident, we believe we both responded. And your old place on Mustang, I think my brother bought that from your Dad.
Thanks for the enjoyable video of you excursion into the competition archery shoot. Congrats on bagging a turkey on your first ever turkey hunt! You da man!
Great video, Jefe!! I'm sitting here in my shop in SW Washington with a big grin on my face. Your enthusiasm is contagious!!! Thank you for your service to this country and my family 👍👍👍
I've never shot a turkey myself, but I have had it several times and I'll just say, I think they are better walking around than in the pot. I'll modify that a bit. I've eaten some sausage made with wild turkey and it was good, but I think being ground up with pork fat and loaded with spices was what made it better.
Another great video! Thanks for bringing us along! I was not aware that they do this at Purgatory! (I live outside of Denver.) I find it awesome that you shared your spoils with Matt and crew!
Good afternoon Jefe you should invite Mike from Trailmater to join you on a hunt . He said in a Q&A that hunting and fishing is his out of recovery hobby.
Kudos on Top 40% (ish) at the Competition and the Tom. I’m in the same predicament regarding my Bow hunting as an OTR driver. I’m lucky if I get to pull the string once a year.
Love ya man. I’ll subscribe and comment and thumbs up every video….im just not into the hunting animal stuff. It’s fine for other folks and I can just wait for your next video. Thanks again for your service.
Recurve stick bow for me. YMCA 25lb Long bows started me off. Fred Bear 45ib with dozen field tip cedar arrows from K-Mart was my first fancy one. Grew up on a gentlemen's farm. Always a stack of hay around. Damon Howat 62in 55ib. beautiful bow. I have (with practice) out shot Target bows, with all the balances etc. gave the compounds a run for their money in placement,,, maybe not distance. Open field shots have not been bad though, I prefer my stick bow. I feel it, all of it. The arrow, string, tension. timing. Compounds seem to hit me with too much mechanical in the way.
Congrats! Fun & harvest all adventure. Grab a spray can of camp dry silicone waterproofing (or similar), keeps ya dry, but windproof too. If you're hunting with it, plan ahead so it can air out after treatment...
that was amazing course..... great job.. i started archery hunting with a crossbow back in 2005..... up close and personal is way more difficult shot but it is fun..

Welcome to archery and bowhunting. Your 1st 3 minutes brings me back to almost 30 ago. Noble sport in my mind
Nice job showing the setup. There’s alot more to it than just shooting, definitely requires more skill
I love archery, I was very good as a kid...I'd love to try again..love your channel...
Thanks, Jefe. I'm loving your site.
That was a 12 on that turkey, and sharing your turkey with Matt and crew priceless. Thanks for the video

Great job again.
I predict you will be very popular on TH-cam before long. Very good job!
Love the video! Great job!
I feel the same about trash. When I'm out in the wild I plan to take out more than I brought. It helps to keep areas open
Looking good, Jefe. Nice change of pace from doing recoveries.
Wow Jefe, great adventure, so fun. Thank you and Congratulations Tyler

You have an amazing ability to put out interesting content!! Really enjoying your channel man !
The way Tyler flips his wrist after every shot....... Is hilarious!!! Awesome episode Jefe!! Thanks for bringing me!! p.s. All love and respect brotha!!
Yeah, when I first caught that I thought he hurt himself somehow but then he did it again and I figured it was just the way he released.
He definitely knows what he's doing and it works for him.
@@JefesAdventures for sure!! I wish I knew half as much as he does about bows!
Great video!! Anytime you are going to cook something that is normally tough look into pressure cooking. You will be hooked once you try it.
Doing well with the channel, Jefe. Keep up with the adventures. They are such fun to watch, Thank you.

Diggin' your new channel Jefe. Editing is spot on.
3D shoots are so much fun, did them years ago, met some awesome people, bow builders, etc. Still shooting my first bow, from 1988. Martin Lynx.
Nicely done jefe
That was so fun! I didn't know there's that kind of shooting bow tournament, I thought they only shoot at the range. Great job on your first tournament!

This is an awesome video. Haven't shot my bow four two years. Because of health issues. I think today might be the day.
