The elite pass from pre pass does both scales and tolls worth every dollar I get bypass on every scale with them
The NC Quick Pass covers the I-Pass, E-ZPass, GA Peach Pass, & FL SunPass and you get the "discount" versus the cash price. The Texas TxTag, Oklahoma PikePass and the Kansas K -Tag are also interchangeable. For Trucks there is Bestpass and PrePass for nationwide but has fees.

Need to invest in a prepass/ez pass for the toll roads they are getting worse across the board everywhere is setting up toll roads someone is making a profit
EZPass covers pretty much from Maine to Florida. I don't know how it works for trucks, but for passenger cars (in Pennsylvania anyway) you pay a premium for NOT using EZPass. So, it is more or less a discount for using EZPass. Plus, on many toll plazas, you do not actually have to stop.

Depends if spec’d highly doubt it. Where I work we add it to the front side of the battery box. Get a good heavy duty one. We use Flaming River brand.

I live in West Virginia, those toll plazas used to be $.50 cents each. Now $4.00 each for vehicles. Roads still in bad shape. Not sure how much for Semi

Me and 2 buddies of mine pull asphalt out of that refinery, we run up and down 23 into Greer 4 days a week.
Talking about tolls, try driving West on I-90 thru Chicago..seven tolls in 15 miles
And are we talking about 294 North & South tollway from 87 th st to just before O'Hara Airport
That's why I no longer go near Chicago

Yep tolls went up on toll roads. That's why I ran east of 35/below 70 in Ohio. They had to entice me to run the toll roads to get their loads, so they gave me EZ Pass.

I have been to that Mortons travel plaza about 10 times and ate at the Burger King there the KFC isn't too bad of chow either.....I am 100% sure that's the Kanawha River after the last toll booth at Cheylan.. Also very cool you went over the "Chuck Yeager Memorial Bridge" in Charleston WV... I got to hear him speak as a guest speaker back in 05
The Yeager bridge crosses the Kanawha River, (note: The building with the GOLD TOP, is the Capitol Building of West Virginia) then leaving Charleston, and on I-64 west, it crosses it two (2) more times. It then heads south-west to Huntington West Virginia, then it crosses the Mighty OHIO River. lol

We noticed that WV has the interstate highways toll. Thought we paid taxes for interstate. But we paid three tolls just going through the state.
Thats because its the turnpike, if you notice, every turnpike in the US is toll road

@@JustTruckin The West Virginia Turnpike was Built by the Actor Walter Brennan. you know him in the Real Mc Coys, an as Stumpy, in Rio-Bravo with the Duke, John Wayne. It started out as a "2" lane (death trap)Road, I know this, as I was Born in Charleston, in the late 40's. You DID NOT want to drive the Turnpike back then. Keep the shiny side up, and the greasy side down, and Keep the Vid's coming. C.W

Justin I would try pulling the positive battery cable off the post on the battery closest to the start leave the truck for 3 days or so hook it back up see if she still cranks fast or if they still are cranking hard...its a pain to hook back up but until you have it on the road no sense ruining those new one.......good luck driver....and trust me change the Turbo actuator on that motor 2012 cummings had a lot of regen problems cause actuator has week gears in actuator so DPF loses heat dozer value plugs up filter....trust me I had 2012 565 ..it cost 58.000..to keep it running I had to take a loss to get rid of it....just friendly advice. ....be cool man.

That refinery is the Marathon Petroleum Catlettsburg Refinery. It is one of our larger refineries. 291000 barrels refined per day. It really is awesome to see you going by places I work with.

Wow man you were rite by were I live. I’ve also spent a lot of time at Marathon or the oil can we call it as a pipe welder. And where rite where you made the left to turn down Guyan Ave. to rubberlite is the old union hall, it was moved around the corner from where the thumbnail for the video was taken on 1st St & 4th Ave or 60W. Also since loosing a lot since COVID I’ve seriously thought about buying a truck. My uncle drove all of his life and I was lucky to go to every state in the USA 🇺🇸. When you passed RMS it’s an auto paint store, he worked there for about 10 years after he retired from truckin. Passed away in 2010 but I sure was lucky to have had him for 30 years.. Next time you make it through, would like to meet ya in person. I found the channel a few days ago and have almost watched every video.. Thanks for doing what your doing buddy. Be safe out there..
Run fancy gap often, usually dead heading north. Fun running 60MPH up it, blowing by everyone
I drove my car thru WV last month cost $12.00 same road. I went thru Kentucky on the way home no tolls and roads were just as good.
I am watching your video and if you have not yet I recommend getting a mechanic to run the head and jakes and adjust the valves and pay them an extra hour and tell them to get it as perfect as possible. I would find a really good mechanic to do it. If you do that not only will you see a huge improvement in fuel economy but, a bump in power and also a more powerful jake break. I would also suggest you do it to any brand new truck as well as after the first 125k.
Thee only tolls on I-64 in West Virginia is where it overlaps with I-77 from Beckley to Charleston. I-64 goes from Lewisburg to Huntington and doesn't have any tolls except the north-south section as part of the turnpike.
The toll roads and parkways in west Virginia and in Kentucky were built by the coal industry. The feds did not pay for them
But they still maintain them, at cost.

As for the PrePass, you can get just the toll portion of it, and have it on the expanded network, it covers every toll in US, including the express lanes in Texas.

that is until most people have EZ Pass, then they will start raising prices for EZ Pass users as well, plus you have to pay the monthly fee.
Yes, its a cooling tower, so power station. We have them as well, but usually with 6+ cooling towers

Justin tolls are general added by states that have no personal income tax or lower state taxes. That way they can generate revenue from outsiders or tourist. PA has a full toll road system to make it easier for trucks to get around the state.
It's a round tunnel. With what looks square inside, top side is ventilation and road bed has all the road drainage for water.
That was the Kanawha (pronounced ka-NAW-a) River you were pointing out nearly twenty minutes in. IMHO you couldn't have picked a better time to come through West Virginia, when the mountain greenery is at its best. In fact, you were coming through my home area of Beckley, in between the first two toll booths.

Just watched this video & noticed you were up in my neck of the woods on US 23 in Ky. That power plant that you were asking about use to be a coal fired plant but switched to natural gas a few short yrs ago. You actually passed my turnoff which would have been on your left just about 15 miles past the power plant on Route 645. I’m only about 10 miles on that Rt 645 turnoff. Also I’m very familiar with Marshall University cause my wife attended that school. Enjoy your videos & good luck to you!
Man I travel a ton for work doing retail construction, that West Virginia toll is stupid. I avoid going thru that area just because there is no reason for that toll at all and there aren't really any alternative so I just try and avoid that entire section of the state unless I have to go someplace in that immediate area.
The mountains fog in. I used to drive Burlington to 8th mile Detroit. Gears to be heat treated. I dove a sprinter 16' box I've been though that tunnel quite a few times

That Turnpike use to be a 2 lane highway in the early 1960's when I traveled on it., I enjoy you show. Nice family.
If u think that’s bad don’t ever take the pa turnpike from one end to the other, last time I took it witch was a couple years ago it was around $300 one way

WV I-77 Is a toll road from Charleston to Bluefield, WV, and had three toll plaza's each way (north to south/south to north). It is the only toll road in WV has been a turnpike since the 1960, when it was a two-lane road, upgraded to four lane in late 70's and early 80's. Easy Pass is the easiest way to. pays for itself rather quickly and recognized if sixteen states (two more pending). Safe travels! -)
I've realized that toll road charges never actually make the roads any better.
Driving comes easy to me. Ever since I got out of USAF back in 1980 I found what I love to do. DRIVE!

Battery cut off probably doesn’t have one if you didn’t find it just put one in mount it somewhere safe from salt and road garbage or it won’t last long where ever you prefer
That river coming into Charleston is the kanawha river, also anytime you come through West Virginia again and have a chance to stop, try out Tudor’s, my personal go to is the big tator
This is a cool video your in my neck of the woods. I bought my 4 wheeler at that Honda shop there on 29th street which is the exit you was on. That is Ashland/Marathon oil Refinery. I use to pull tanker up and down US 23 your really in my home area now. I live about 12 miles from US 23. I use to run coal binder from Huntington Wva to Big Stone Gap Va 5-7 days a week. And yes that is a power plant AEP/Kentucky Power. Use to be coal being convert to gas I believe.
I think the truck has to be ordered with a master disconnect switch, otherwise you have to put one in yourself and it's very easy.
With an ezpass it's usually cheaper so if they said 80 it probably would have been 50 with an ezpass. Been telling you ezpass and prepass are worth the money if you utilize them.
That is one of the best Burger Kings around at that travel plaza I live at exit 9 in West Virginia and I run across the turnpike all the time running up into Ohio

Your in coal country of West Virginia. Since alot of the coal mines are closed now, the state has to get revenue some where without have to rely on Federal Government for funds. Tolls back when I drove through there was only $20 to $30 for 5 axle vehicles.
Coal fired power plant. Nuclear plants don't have chimneys.
I use to work at a kenworth dealership and if it is not on the battery box or the frame or behind the driver seat it doesn’t have one and the factory mostly puts it on the battery box

I pull from the Savannah port. Containers are often already late by the time they get off-loaded from the ships. Then there is the whole detention thing if the containers aren’t back in the port by a certain date. Some times it’s a headache but it’s a day in the life. 😂
Most truck's do not come with a battery cut off switch but pretty much every fire department will add one to any big truck or rig they get but civilians do not do this usually!

PA is looking to put tolls on a few bridges on I80 and I81, six in total. maybe as soon as 2022
I quit taking 77 several years ago when I travel towards STL.
West Virginia is a beautiful state in the fall but the tolls are not so nice. I had to go to DC (from Denver) for government credentials over a 6 day stretch. We are talking 6 tolls. Apparently tolls are big source of income for West Virginia.
You would have had better luck with a flatbed. Huntington steel has a massive amount of loads for coming back out of there.

if you find yourself there again you should go see the monument fountain they have there on the Marshal Campus for the 1970 plane crash where they lost their football team. That incident is what the "we are marshal" movie is about. at the 34 minute mark is a coal power plant. When you went back down US23 towards I 26 you went by Loretta Lynn "Coal Miners Daughter" childhood home place.

When I was driving use to go threw a place they called steam alley.you couldn't see anything.never did like the fog,to much of a streen
My kenworth t680 does not have a battery cutoff switch and it has a paccar even my t680 that had a Cummins same way no cutoff switch just make sure all cab switches are off lights are off etc!
That used to be a coal fired power plant on 23 in Kentucky it has been there for atleast 30 years they changed it to gas few years ago its a A.E.P. power plant that is a good little run up 23 through there I live on the Virginia side about 30 minutes from johnson city right next to the quarry you loaded at a couple months ago in castlewood Virginia
On I-95 in Ga… exit 29 has a nice TA that has a Starbucks if you are passing through during the daytime. The Starbucks isn’t open 24hrs.
If you think the tolls in WVA are bad, take the PA Turnpike (I-76) from the NY line to Ohio. The PA Turnpike will run you over $400, one way.

Get your EZ Pass from NY state. It costs $1/month to have and if you ever enter NYC it gives you the biggest discounts. PA and other states give discounted rates for tolls when having EZ Pass. Buy the $10 suction cup holder off Amazon, you’ll thank me later. 😂👍💪
That’s Marathon Ashland Refinery in Cattlesburg, Ky. I grew up very close to there just across the Ohio River in Southern Ohio. The power plant is Big Sandy Power Plant which is part of American Electric Power. She’s a coal burner

At the 32:10 mark coming into Kentucky, you were looking at the Ashland Oil Company refinery there on the left.
Funny thing is I hit the same tolls a few weeks back. Made a joke to my son after the second toll that there was another toll just ahead........then a few minutes later there was. Guess we are only eating on the dollar menu today son

That was a power plant - not nuclear. The tall stack is the "chimney" from burning fossil fuels. The other structure is the cooling tower to cool the water that is heated by the power plant to create the steam to drive the turbine to create electricity.
