- In this video I give you my top 5 gold coins to buy based off of my experience and also for their resale value. It may not be your favorites but they all just work for me and my stacking journey. I hope this video helps you decide which one works best for you in your own journey as I have put a bunch of thought into this over the years and these are the best that I feel are worth stacking in mass quantities. Thanks for watching.

Good video, good choices. AGE, Buff and CML are probably indisputable. Britannia is a near fourth but nearly a tie with the CML to me at this point. That spread is important, but I'd take an additional $10 swing personally to give me more private sale options. Eagles are still the only coins I'd bet I could sell in bulk to a private buyer here in the U.S.. Cheers!
That’s why the eagle is still in the top and I don’t see that changing.
One of your best (recent) videos, my friend! 👌🏼
LOVE the Gold Britannia. So regal. So stunning. And your advice on the 1/4 ozt target was so spot on.
Thanks Yankee. Appreciate that brother.
Hi, first time on your site. Thanks for your commentary. Very helpful & interesting.
Great choices for all the right reasons sir. Great video Britches! Well done.
Easy with them britches lol
Very good video and content. Nice list and you surprised me with number 5. Hope you keep adding content more frequently. Keep it up!
Thanks Angel.
Excellent video as always! Glad I watched beginning to end, number 5 was a surprise. I stack in a similar way you do- Buffalo, AGE, Maple and Brit...boring yes but maximizes liquidity as you talked about.
Thanks SS and yes boring but highly effective.
My brother just got me a gold 1pm 2023 buffalo from Apmex as a emergency savings . Awesome idea right .. I am not great with cash so this is safer to hold onto for long term
Not too long ago the Britannia gold coins weren't particularly popular. That sure has changed and they're now wanted everywhere it seems. I own one but that will likely change later this year. Those Corona restrikes are an interesting choice. Thanks for the run down!
The new design and security features are done well. The us mint could learn a thing or two.
The France 20 francs might have been my number 5.... Or 4 with the Britannia number 5. Great discussion 👍
Thanks Bean
AGE, Buffalo and CML for sure! I would have the Britannia in there as well. I like my "boring" bullion, easy to sell back (if needed) to my LCS with better buyback prices too. Great vid!
Boring is safe and smart.
Hello mate. What do you think about 2021 gold Swans from Perth mint?
I’m a huge fan of anything Perth mint. Just a special glow on their gold products.
Spot on. I agree with your selection.
Thanks Jack!
Thanks for such nice recommendations.
Receive a greet from CDMX!
The gold Britannia basically looks like a proof, but at bullion price. It’s stunning.
I know right! It feels like you’re getting more.
Great list and I have all of those as well! I libs for collecting of course but definitely not a stacking coin! You can however find higher mintage libs in gold that are at the same price as AGEs in the fractional...
So difficult because they’re incredibly sought after.
Totally agree 100% with your ranking, and looking at this 4 months later, just check out those spot prices. Considering you can now purchase a Britannia for about $150 less than a AGE, or Buffalo, all one has to do is wait for prices to return to higher levels for a great return. I also agree about the Maples, although great coins, they just don't look right next to all the others. Great video, thanks
Much appreciated!
💯 S.B.
Any idea of what the strategy is for 2025 # on gold ?
Or hold that to see what the gold price is going to land after the election ?
2. Is silver even on the puck up list at this point in sept. 2024 ' ?
Thx for the content. I always appreciate the knowledge YOU give out.
6 mo. In and kinda at a loss since prices keep running up and being new !!!
Holy smokes ! I am glad to have gotten some gold, silver , .
kuggrands are not on the list ?
Any particular reasons ??
I ask that cause it was my 1 st low premium purchase of a 1/4 oz.
Thx. Always s.b.
great video! Living in Europe, I keep Britannia, AGE, CML, and add gold Napoleon francs. My fifth is maybe philharmonic or krugerrand, or chinese panda?
Solid mix for Europe. Funny how it’s cheaper here than our own Bullion.
9:00 so why wouldn't you stack them exclusively because of size difference, right?
Maples yea because of size. They’re just a weird size.
@@SilverBritches ok
I just started my stacking journey and by far my favorite is the CML.
@@jacobwade8039 welcome to the party!
Well said nice collection
Thanks for you insight 👍
You're right on point 😊
This is amazing because I actually just purchased the Eagle today. I already own the other 4 coins that made your list.
Great minds think alike.
Solid list, nothing surprising except for Britiania being first. Thought you would have the Buffalo #2 and eagle #1. The corona I would swap with any newer minted gold coin. Thoughts on Chinese pandas?
If you like them it’s a solid choice but I just don’t own any Chinese bullion. It’s a personal choice for me.
Hold on tight! Agreed. I feel the same way about the Krugerrand. I have some in the stack, but they always sit on the bottom of the tube. You’re right, I didn’t expect that last one. I’ve never even had one in my stack. I’ve relied mostly on AGE, buffaloes, maples, krugs and ,,,, Roos! Great video CM!
Thanks Vert!
love my coronas, the imperial double eagle is amazing, franz grows on you eventually, spot to 1% premium is tough to beat, but most importantly its a FANTASTIC fondling piece
Absolutely
Gold is gold
I like Britannia , Kengaroo and Mapele leafs.
I like the Britannias and Maples the best.
Hard to beat them.
Gorgeous Gold, brother. I've owned a couple Krugs. I just prefer the color of 24k.
I can’t get over the copper look of Krugerrands.
@@SilverBritches Apart from the colour, I just can’t see any top 5 list without the Krugs, their global sales speaks for itself, maybe it’s also nostalgia but to me it will always be the Godfather of bullion coins.
@@smith1979 I completely understand which is why I mentioned it. I just personally don’t buy them and therefore can’t recommend them based off of that. I just want to be as honest about it as I can.
Where do you get the dragons and tigers ? Everything is so high right away it seems
Believe it or not but when they were released, APMEX had them cheap and they still do.
My top 5 are $10 St. Gardens Indian, $20 St. Gardens, $20 Liberty type 2, 4th is $5 Indians & #5 is $5 liberties. Very close is the British SOVEREIGNS, I love the St. George reverse. Cheers.
Agree with Britannia #1. 👍
Love the gold francs! Basically, 1/5th ozt gold. .1867 (ozt) each
They’re very popular
I appreciate you sharing the buy back prices. One of the habits of highly effective people is; begin with the end in mind
Thanks Ashley
An excellent video, as always. I was a tad surprised that the Australian Kangaroo was not on your list.
Well I’m not always a fan of the designs. Last year’s was fantastic but this year is garbage.
@@SilverBritches do you think that the Kangaroo one ounce bar will come back?
For the most part I agree with your ranking. Wish I could afford them.
It’s tough Bob.
2024 is the year of the dragon. I live in the UK so would buy from the royal mint. Which would be the best in the range to buy for best resale value ?? I would appreciate your experience and advice
That market is totally different from mine but I would say anything year of the dragon does extremely well once all coins are sold out.
Thanks for the advice. The 1oz proof silver coin is £105, roughly $140. It is very nicely presented what are your thoughts. Again from your own knowledge and experience please.
@@richardlynch-y4n seems like that is high and any flipping potential is gone. I’d wait until the Perth Mint release.
Dang big dawg!! Vids is looking like shadow stack big! I mean, I knewed you was always big time but....
Great video. I would also add the British Royal Cypher (Brittania) coin. Only 7,500 minted and bullion price. As well as the admittedly as of now less recognizable, lynx, Toro and horse series from the Spanish mint. Low prices when first released and low mintages. 50 Peso as well.
Nice top 5. Most of my gold is fractional AGEs. I would like to get a 1/4oz brittania and 1/4oz kangaroo this year.
Perth gold has a specific hue to it’s gold that’s unmatched.
@@SilverBritches / . . . as is its production quality!
Nice stack of gold 👍
Appreciate that
Good list and a good list of ones you own. The camera saw different eagles as different colors. Which is accurate!
Keep grinding on your stack!
Thanks Heist
Im a Britannia stacker as well, and i live in the US. I stack them the most bc i like them. And thats really the only reason.
Always good stuff here. Full support brother 👊
Much appreciated
Love my Maples, but those Britainnias are stunning.
Great vid, thanks! 💯
I just bought a 1 oz gold reverse proof libertad. Only 500 minted.
Wow!
What yr. and if you don't mind how much did you have to pay, Nice pick-up
@@larryjoe1357 2021 and it's $3,300
@@vip_supercars3652 I was lucky enough to buy a 2019 RP MS. 70 one oz. Gold Lib. when they first came out paid around $1800.00 sold it last year for $3700.00. Beautiful coins. Good Luck
one thing I really want the US mint to do is start making fractional gold buffalos. great video.
Thanks bro
My brother just got me a gold 1pm 2023 buffalo from Apmex as a emergency savings . Awesome idea right .. I am not great with cash so this is safer to hold onto for long term
Fractional gold buffalos would sell like hotcakes!
"its not about making gains its about locking up value". YEs! thank you for saying that.
I always loved the brittania ever since i got a silver one, i went out of my way to get a britannia. Love the art work i belief that athena.
Very fun! I want to stack buffalos but get a couple of samples from other countries.
Hi, Clean. I like Libertads and Pesos. Viva Mexico. Premiums are high on Libertads, but so is the premium when you sell. I got a 1/2 oz reverse proof Libertad when they first came out in 2018. It has doubled in price since then. I also like Buffalos. For stacking at the lowest price, you can't beat gold Pesos. *TYU*
Hard to beat the pesos!
Curious why number 5 was not the krugerrand?
On par with the Gold coins are collectible Gold bars like JM, Engelhard and some older bank bars. Would argue that spending a slight premium on some collectible bars would do well even into the future.
VT247
I agree with that too.
I'm so close to pulling the trigger on a buffalo. I have the extra cash to do it but I just think spot will go down more still so that's why I haven't yet. I can't wait to get one tho.
Cpi June numbers will help I think. Unless inflation skyrockets more.
@@SilverBritches the government spent such an absurd amount of money during the pandemic that they literally created the worst possible scenario for our country. Really think about how much money they printed and gave away. They were giving every person with a job like $1,500 per week for unemployment then all the stimulus checks then all the PPP loans that barely had to get paid back and a bunch of other stuff. I mean why would they gave everyone that much money? Really think about it. Most people probably made around $400 to $800 per week but there going to give everyone double and Tripple that for employment? Why??? On top of 3 big stimulus payment's? Then all those people who just got all that money were given loans that barely had to get paid back. I mean it's absurd. Like who in there right mind approved that. They should've just let the country tough it out and have a little hard time for a little bit and only give out like half the amount that they did and people wouldve been just fine. I mean did they really think that the repercussions weren't going to be astronomical? Everyone was living like kings during the pandemic it was a freaking joke. The amount of money that flooded the economy was unbelievable. That's why everything got all jacked up. Now we have to face serious consequences because of incompetent leaders making unbelievably bad decisions
So you were right about etherium are you buying more?
Not until we see a couple of daily green candles. This is where I wanted to start averaging back in though. Not financial advice! My personal strategy.
i just got done writing a letter to the mint about “coin collectors” wanting fractional buffalos and to please start minting them. i avoided using “stackers.” as the government doesn’t really want us stacking as is evident in their production cuts. if enough of us inundate them with physical paper letters, maybe they’ll listen. 1/4 size is my favorite and i have a place in my heart for $5 incuse indians. as my father gave me one long ago. this would satisfy that draw that i have towards them as they are expensive now a days. fractional buffalos would be a major hit and i think they know that
It would be epic!
2021 was a good year for you 👌
Btw I've seen a fractional buffalo gold coin. Could have been just for a certain year though
Yes they were done one year and they are extremely expensive.
Like your top 5. I would add Kangaroos instead of the Corona.
Thoughts?
Yes this year Kangaroo was pretty good.
Damn straight mr money
Brittanias are beautiful coins.
Have the silver version.
Gold is expensive
Sure is.
I love the US stuff but they’re pretty expensive. I’ve got a few Buffs but might pivot to the Maples or British stuff because they’re gorgeous, less premium and great security features
As far as low premiums on fractional, it’s hard to beat the Ducat. 1-Ducat has more gold than the 1/10 and it’s a lot cheaper than the 1/10. Just about anyone can afford and obtain them which is a big plus. However, the American Gold fractional isn’t taxed so for me as a gold is gold guy, it’s the Eagles or the Ducats when I can find them for a great price.
My local shop has tons of coins every week. Britannias have taken over as the most popular. I’m buying lowest weight and the Brits fit the bill.
They cover all the bases for me.
Pourquoi achetez-vous le poids le plus faible ?
American gold dollar coins of 1863, which were shown in the movie The good the bad and the ugly, actually now are the rarety, l wish to see them in your videos, thanks sir.
Hard to find locally here. Maybe one day.
I stack Eagles. I will eventually get a Buffalo some time in the future
I’m a big fan of the eagle.
not a fan of the eagles... probably get more when selling but also pay more when buying. And to me they are the least interesting looking and only 90%.
I love it when I don't like the thing everyone else likes because I tend to save a lot of money. 🙂
Love them buffalos, Britannia's, and Ducrats tho! Like the maples too but yeah size matters and why look at a smaller coin when you can get a bigger one (width wise) for the same or less money??
If you are a "gold is gold" guy, buy the random coin option. Probably the best premium and they are all govt minted.
I’m afraid I’ll get a Krugerrand 🤢😂😂
I like the Buffaloes, but also the British Tudor Beasts. I do have Gold Eagles, they are OK. Pre-1933 is Great!
Buffs are my favorite but as far as fractional I just grab eagles.
You realize if you are in the US you will have to submit paperwork on non-US gold, also why are you not looking on Monument Metals that has the lowest price on gold coins? Gold 1 ounce eagle is $2012 as of today using a credit card.
That’s not entirely accurate. Gold Britannias are not on the list for submitting paperwork. Also I do realize monument is cheaper but I wanted to show buyback prices.
I’ve sold the gold Britannia in the past year with absolutely no paperwork required. Walked into my LCS with a smile and walked out with a handful of cash.
Both SD and Monument are cheaper than JM
Yes they are but I wanted to show buyback prices.
Thanks, as eu: vreneli, kruges, dragon (flipping nice), philharmonic (boring), Australia,, last eagle and Buffalo, we ha edifferet taste😊
Great video 👍 and helpful information !
But Not totally agree specifically about the usa coins !
I am living in EU and right now many people don't want to buy the Buffalo and the Eagle because of the political reasons....the war, the usa government and etc.
I don't want to speak about those political schemes right now and I personally find the Buffalo very attractive and beautiful coin 👍
But the difference between selling and buying is crazy. It's 75€ price difference !!!
For example The Kangaroo has only 23€ buying/selling price difference and the memorial Sovereign-2023 has only 10€ difference between the both prices and that is absolutely fantastic.
Of course that is how it works here in middle and east Europe.
Somewhere else the gold eagle would be probably the best gold coin you can buy.
Of course everything is just my personal opinion and experience.
If you’re buying Gold absolutely buy your local bullion.
@@SilverBritches You are absolutely right
Views on the Ozzie kangaroos
It should’ve been in my top 5. It’s an excellent coin to stack.
💯💯💯
great list... i think i am the only one that dislikes the maples... i mean, the leaf isn't "bad" per se... but that particular image of queen is yuck.
Trust me you’re not. I’ve got plenty of people over the years tell me they won’t stack because the queen is on it.
@@SilverBritches ha! I love the Britannia’s so I’m thinking for me it is just that particular image. 👍🏻
Ah I see. I like both. I don’t like the Australia version at all.
The millionth video on this topic.
Buy the coin from the country in which you live!
Right?
I never said that in the video.
Pre-33 value and history. ??? All I stack . MS 63 only and NOT a collector.
@user-vv1my9kv8l Hi. Can you elaborate why the MS-63 in particular?
Also, don’t buy lower than 63?
What about the “BU” grade, you don’t like or recommend?
Lastly, an old professional once told me MS-64 was the best, ideal grade to buy. You don’t agree?
Thank you.
MS 63 slabbed do not cost much more than 61…bought in bulk ,say 20 you can usually fine something other than say 1924’s….Can usually find 3-4 with higher pneumismatic Value. 63 seems to be the sweet spot in buying and selling. Read an article long ago by prominent stacker/ collector and recommended sticking with slabbed MS 63. Unless after a specific coin it seems to hold true.
Of course you need to hook up with the right LCS.
These are normally a little more than say a BU eagle -but you have the history ( and they only get older) and
advantage of slabbed/ graded. Prefer NGCS -seems to be more well liked. Also have some AU $10 Indians -nothing wrong with AU. Everyone does their own thing. I have a little bit of everything. But for hand me downs and value store. This -MS63 is what I like. Sometimes buy sales on 64 , but 65 gets a little high, unless you are flipping/ collecting.
Less likely to confiscate vs modern ,could be advantage-never know.
Beats toilet paper.
I stack Sovereigns as they are the most common form of Gold at my LCS and the closest to spot. So a bit like the Austrian Corona but has the added advantage that they are collectible - especially the Shield Sovereigns. Just annoying that they aren't exactly a 1/4 oz.
I know what you mean. They’re not too common at mine.
😍😍😍
Assumeing the same carat and weight buy the cheapest, making allowance for any premium. Don't pay for a prertty design if your objective is investment.
It’s merely saving money for me but it doesn’t hurt to look good doing it either.
@@SilverBritches True but you pay a Premium price. your choice.
I call them bisons as well since that's what they are, lol.
They really are 😆
Fractional buffalos are like common sense ……except when your the US mint.
No doubt!
21.6 carats gold 100 coronae
When is the crypto video coming?
Britannia as #1 ….nope. The Queen side cannot be admired & loved the way the other side can. That feeling of quick flip it over = it cannot be # 1 overall coin. ✌️
Thanks for your feedback
What do you think about the Australian kangaroo?
Excellent coin to stack but here in the states they’re not sought after. Usually take a hit on resale.
Australian kangaroo 🎉🎉🎉
👍
📓🖋😉👍
Nah, no queen, this is 2023
I have one with the queen and it’s a 2023
@Clean Money Gold Sry, let me clarify: I will not buy a coin with a "queen" on it...
Ah makes sense now 😆👍🏼
NONSENSE!
TO THINK YOU WOULD BARELY MENTION THE MIGHTY KRUGER!
ANOTHER KNIFE IN MY BACK!
A VENOMOUS BLADE WIELDED BY ONE I ONCE THOUGHT OF AS FRIEND, NOW I SEE YOU FOR THE FIEND YOU ARE!
THIS SHALL NOT BE WITHOUT REPERCUSSIONS!
#KrugerSupremacy
Ha don’t take it personally. The krugerrand is a solid coin, it just doesn’t do it for me.
Buy back prices seem more favorable for Eagles and Buffaloes. Home Team wins. Perth Lunar Series like you said does appreciate in value short to long term. Buffaloes and Lunar coins are worth hanging on to, AGEs are a vehicle to more Buffaloes and Lunar Dragons.
Cheers 🥃🦬
Kangaroo should be no.5! 🦘
😂👍🏼 new one I agree
Curious why number 5 was not the krugerrand?
