    Keep on stacking silver and gold as much as you can afford buy it in any increments that you can it doesn't have to be an ounce you better get it before it's gone or the price goes sky high

  • @hillbillystacker
    @hillbillystacker 2 ปีที่แล้ว +40

    Gold is awesome. 1/4 oz is what I like to buy. Occasionally I'll purchase a 1/10 oz if I see something that catches my eye that I don't own. I personally won't sell any gold, but my children are free to do as they wish with it when it becomes theirs. My daughters are 3 and 6 and that's the whole reason I stack. I will sell none of my stack. For me stacking is strictly a legacy for my girls only. It's a way for Daddy to provide some help to them after I'm gone. It's a long term savings account for them and hopefully it'll be worth far more than what I paid for it. Even if they get only what I have in it if they ever sell then it's still a win. I won't always be around to help them and I hope that they can at least get some comfort or enjoyment from the stack.

      @@go4it764 I like the 1/4 oz gold. It leaves me cash for silver and buying a 1/4 oz a month is 3 ozs on the year. It is a higher premium but it's easier on the pocket. I occasionally pick up a 1/10 oz if it's something I don't have but I focus on the 1/4 oz Britannias, Maples and Philharmonics. The color pop from 24k .9999s really hooks you. I've also heard that it's in high demand. Before the economy got so bad I was adding 1/2oz coins and a few 1 oz coins but everything has gotten so high in the last 3-4 years. Then there's the premiums now as well. Honestly though with the condition of the economies globally and what all is going on, any gold would be a wise place to put fiat. I don't think a person could go wrong with owning some gold.

    This was a great interview! Good information and talk about stacking fractional gold. I stack both full ounce and fractional for different reasons. One ounce is certainly the sweet spot for lowest premiums if you can swing it.

    • @SilverStruck
      @SilverStruck 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@jamesdoe3713 That's the best way. I started a tube of 1/4 ounce gold myself. The bulk of what I stack is full ounce like you do.

  • @richardcontinijr9661
    @richardcontinijr9661 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    One of the best bang for the buck in fractional gold are the gold sovereigns. They have 7.32 grams of gold. When you compare them to 1/4 oz gold eagles on a cost per gram basis the premium is anywhere from $12-20 less per gram. They fit in the same size capsule and tube as 1/4 gold eagles. A tube will hold 21 capsules. I keep a tube of sovereigns, 1/2 oz gold eagles and 6 tubes of silver rounds in the safe. The rest is stored elsewhere.

    The best one to stack is the one with the lowest premium.
    But, also consider, fractional coins buy and sell at a premium, so fractional are also an option.
    I love the 1/10oz coins, but their premium are really high.

  • @theswordguy5269
    @theswordguy5269 2 ปีที่แล้ว +12

    Great interview. The only thing is, when you buy fractional gold you're really trying to remain under the radar. For those afraid of gold seizure, fractional gold is so small that the feds likely wouldn't take notice in a SHTF situation. Nor would the IRS. For those stacking ounce gold coins or larger, you will attract the IRS's attention when you try to cash out. Fractional buyers may not simply because their capital gains will be so small in comparison. Just something to consider. Fractional gold isn't all bad.

    Can understand the reasoning about the fractional gold but premiums aside gold is gold...one.ounce is a sizable chunk of money to lay out...and if you needed to "cash" it back in you may not need 1500 back..if you can swallow the premium fractional seems more economical to stack and also to "cash" in if needed

You always want the lowest price with lowest premiums, but if you don't have the cash for an ounce, you don't have the money. Gold for me is a security chest in case of runaway inflation that I could buy essentials.

    I am about to start buying gold because I am afraid that the dollar will collapse. In the case that the dollar does collapse, would you recommend purchasing sovereign coins or quarter ounce pieces so that you can spend them in person to person transactions later? Of course, I want some solid ounces for larger purchases, but let’s say I want to buy some groceries from a neighbor with a quarter ounce coin. Would you recommend purchasing quarter ounce coins or something like that?

    I started with a few one ounce gold buffalos. I am really worried about the dollar going to hyperinflation or the new digital currency being planned. Even though the premiums are high on the one gram gold bars they will be really useful for barter if you need it. I would sure hate to try and buy a tank of gas or bag of groceries with a one ounce buffalo.

    I have difficulty seeing anything but circulated 1z Au bars for stacking except maybe circulated 10z Ag bars, if both are bought in downturns. Big premiums are fine for numismatics. But to simply store value over a long time, 2nd market bars seem the best to me. You collect to invest, stacking is simply storing metal. Its useless for SHTF; stacking is for before or after. Stacking bars is cheap going in with the assumption that you might lose a nickel in the sale coming out but its hardly a concern for storing value. Theres just nothing really to improve when it comes to 2nd market bars for simply storing metal value.

    I think buying gold at 1/10 is not bad, even if you pay more, it’s better then buying fast food, or that cup of coffee. It’s better then saving dollars that has no actual value as well. 1/10 is not bad when on a budget in my opinion. Plus you can sell 1/10 easier then 1oz if gold explodes and dealers won’t buy your overpriced metal, also if you need to fix something that only cost 500 dollars but now you only have 1oz gold and you don’t want to sell it because you don’t need all the cash from that one oz gold, your stuck selling more then you want.

    WHY? Coins over bars? I see bars s ‘just gold’ nothin fancy, closest to to a commodity. Why would anyone pay more for ‘decoration’? Sounds like jewelry. On ‘judgement day’ we will all be bartering with gold and silver. Like in the middle ages, we’ll probably be wearing crude link chains around our necks where each link of 24k is a standard weight. Just twist off a link to make a purchase. In that case the only coins,I would want would small, say 10g. Judgement day to me means fiat currency collapse. If thats true why would coins over bars matter at all?

    • @stuartstuart866

      Because they are more desirable, therefore are more valuable. I can admire a beautiful gold coin as art work as well as its gold value. It took skill and effort to make a coin and that labor and skill have value.

    • @fscott1134
      @fscott1134 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@stuartstuart866 I do as well but you are paying for that art. My thought is gold as a pure investment, an insurance policy against collapse. In that sense, after a collapse, no one will be willing to pay for the art vales, only the pure gold value.
      I’m afraid that the premium coins are just a device for dealers to increase their margins. That commoditized gold gives them a fixed income.

    • @stuartstuart866
      @stuartstuart866 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@fscott1134 There is also the trust and comfort level. Gold coins are very difficult to fake, if the consumer weighs and measures their purchase. All coin stores want gold and silver eagles, to a lesser degree maple leafs and britannia’s, to an even lesser degree, bars. I want gold that is very easy to convert to cash and I’m willing to pay a premium, but not a ridiculous premium for that privilege. I could alter my thoughts in the future, but currently I’m focused on legal tender coins. As an alternative to American Eagles, I really kinda like the Britannia’s with their lower premiums and advanced security features.

    Yeah but if you buy a 1 gram gold bar, for 800$ over spot your still not losing 800 dollars. It's an 85$ bar that is worth 60$. Your still only losing 25$. If you just buy 1 and not alot

    Trash…. Who are you going to sell to if the u.s tanks? Is the guy going to be working for free. Noooo he is going to take a cut of your gold. Ok then what. Exchange this going into US dollar that went to zero. Or china yen? 13:51 Let me sell my gold on judgement day. When the dollar goes to zero. What are you going to trade this gold into if the dollar goes to zero, or you need to buy anything. Run the scenario for me bro.
