@@shawnevans58 I didn't care for the look of the kit joint where the dash and firewall meet. It will be seen through the front window after you are finished. So I wanted to cover that line, and make something that looked more like a factory dash.
@@ClayKemp Awesome, what size sheet did you use to do that with? You done a absolute perfect job and now i know how to mud up these truck and tractor pulling tires as well. I forgot the Sprint cars i build as well.
Good luck. Like I mentioned, I would normally use like 70% alcohol. The 91% I was using was starting to mess with the base coat paint. It was too strong.
Good to see you on TH-cam. I don't do Facebook, so I haven't been able to see your work there. Really enjoying your videos sir. Thanks for sharing, keep up the great work! 👍😁
Great start on chassis. Great info on weathering! I like how you did your dash. I did something similar then put a panel on top with nut & bolt detail.
I haven't built one of these new Chargers yet, tho I've got several in my stash. So I ask, why the added styrene to the dash? Thanks Clay, look forward to the next video.
On the first one I built, you could really see that odd joint between the dash and the firewall once the model was finished. It just looked like it needed some indication of a dash top there.
Not really a good way to get his stuff until he gets back to selling unfortunately. Hopefully he gets back on his feet again soon. You might try Ted's Model Marketplace. He sells a lot of things like that.
I'm no pro like you.. but here's a pro tip.. get one of those foot scrubbers from the dollar store, the ones for your heel and use that or straighten out a large hose clamp and run your pastels along it to make quick work of powders. I get my box and just spend about 30 mins grinding half of them up and putting in small containers for future use. Ive used pastels for a long time and still learned something today. Glad I found this channel!! Chassis looks great!
Not to throw anybody Under the bus, but I bought the MPC Pontiac Super Stock Dirt car model. Whoever designed the chassis must not of known much about stockcars. I raced for years and years and built many roll cages.this model was poorly designed and the fit and Finish was lame. We work hard for our money....$ 25.00 for this kit is ridiculous. I won't ever buy another MPC model.

Looks great brother! Awesome idea on the dash! Loving it dude!!!
Thank ya buddy! I learned on the last one you could see right through the windshield.
Awesome Tips Sir, Thanks n God Bless.
I have never used chalk like that to dirty the chassis. Great idea! Heading to hobby lobby or Michaels tomorrow. Looking forward to the next video!

Any idea where to get PE Chassis Suspension Mounts, parts etc since Dirt Modeler does not appear to be shipping at the moment.

I really like how you’ve set up this TH-cam channel- I just subscribed…🤩 Lee
Thanks for the support Lee!

Weathering is something I am getting into. I’m curious, with the alcohol, is it the goal to take paint off?
No, it just dilutes the pigment powder and allows it to spread around. Then one it evaporates, the pigment is left behind.
Lots of good info, Thanks. IMHO a modern tooled kit should not need this much fixing. Compare this to a Moebius Hudson kit. Thanks
